Clean, large, and comfortable rooms.
The nan who made the omletes Sunday morning was the friendliest and the hotel should be honored to have him work there!
love the proximity to casinos, also the town to various restaurants is a short 5 minute walk.
I made the reservation I need to cancel within a couple of hours for business purposes and was charged full price that is absolutely ridiculous I paid it I will never use KAYAK again
Other then the bathroom having rust stains in the tub, and the smell of smoke when we first walked in,it was clean. I thought the bed was not that comfortable, my husband didn't seem to mind it.
Clean, quiet, basic accommodations
Quiet and in a convenient location. Every surface except the bed linens in this non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke. The smell is still on our clothes and bags a day later despite spraying with air freshener. It seems like the room was just changed from a smoking room to non-smoking, or that none of the previous guests paid attention to the "No Smoking" signs posted on every door. Pity.
If this had been $60 a night I may not have had issue with it - but the worn quality of the rooms, filthy old tiles on the shower floor and overall plainness in particular make this place tremendously overpriced at $100+. Terribly disappointed in our stay. The place reeked of some chemical cleaner that must be used. The aforementioned tiles in the bathroom - you need to regrout or replace them, it's just terrible.
convenient location and worth the price...not a family type hotel since there's no pool, game room, microwave, fridge (in our room at least) but i went with my wife and it was all we needed. i would stay again. In fact we ended up booking a room later the day we check out because we stayed a little later than expected. it's a bedroom. instead of having micro fridge and microwave in all rooms they charge more for rooms with them...however there were none of those rooms available. they should maybe just get some. There nothing above an okay bed.(i would not say it was uncomfortable) shower and tv.
Not much Uncomfortable bed and tiny pillows, noisy drunks downstairs
They were very friendly, nobody was rude. They had a sign offering free toiletries if you forgot something and when we called because we did forget a toothbrush they accommodated us happily. Room was clean and comfy. No fridge in the room. I was prepared for this as I always travel with a cooler and they did have an ice machine.
Clean and spacious rooms.
Nothing Room was broken down. Had an odor. Bed was so old and uncomfortable, springs were coming through. Only stayed because the room was paid in advance. Room was nothing like the picture on the website, that might have been taken 15 years ago. Never again.
The beds were very comfortable and the staff was very helpful
Very clean, comfortable, and the hardwood is nice! Comfortable bed Good space for a two bedroom Recommend to others!
The staff was super friendly. Michael was a charmer. They gave me a handicap room tho I am not. So I missed having a bath! They also were painting the exterior so my windows were covered over for a day or so.And the place STILL has a stale smoke smell. Breakfast was really poor. too basic.
The room was comfortable. WiFi access was strong and relatively fast (although it was labeled as "Holiday Inn" even though there is no Holiday Inn nearby). Convenient to an Outback Steakhouse on the property. Bathroom was clean, modern, functional, no extras. Bed was very comfortable and no room noise. This was an utterly standard hotel room, a commodity that offered no more or no less than what a reasonable person would want for an overnight stay. Hotel has a strange two-story layout that seems to be collection of buildings added at different times. No elevator to upper story, either in main building or the annex in which we stayed. The main entrance is from the north Frontage Road, but no signage to take you to the front lobby (and you have to go around the back of the Outback--ironically). There is another drive that leads to the front, but it is barely marked from the street. My spouse was a little freaked out that the room door (622) showed a LOT of daylight around edges. The door did appear to be secure, but would let in a lot of smoke in the case of a corridor fire. Air conditioner was controlled by a wall thermostat, which should have been a good thing. The thermostat had a motion sensor, but the motion sensor did not appear to be working. Room got very warm during night, even when one or other of us got up and moved around. A/C only came on when temperature setting was changed on the panel.
Stayed 3 nights. Room never cleaned. Commode broke first night - never fixed! And NO elevator ... Not told before booked into 2nd floor room. No one to help with heavy luggage.
I requested a quite room when checking in, and was told the inn is full, and there is no room choice. When we entered the room, it had a loud buzzing sound from some machines. I called the front desk, and was told again that no other rooms are available. I then asked to speak to the manager, and suddenly another room became free, which was much quieter. They could have avoided the aggravation right from the beginning by honoring my request at check in.
We had a large party going back and forth to the casino. The shuttle transported all of us there and back without any issues and even made an extra trip.
My boyfriend and I planned this trip last minute for a late weekend get-a-way to celebrate Valentine's day. Needless to say, if it weren't a last minute decision, we probably would've went with a different hotel... To start off, we entered the hotel room wanting to adjust the temperature as it was too cold. My boyfriend walked over to the heater and had to literally climb underneath it to rewire in order for it to be used. Second, there wasn't a shower vent in the bathroom and it became very foggy after taking just a quick shower. Third, the bathtub was completely clogged and backed up after having the water on for two minutes. The bathtub mat was even disgusting. Fourth, the bed and the pillows weren't very comfortable...bed was springy and both my boyfriend and I woke up with very stiff backs and necks. Fifth, my boyfriend left our hotel room to go get some ice for water. He passed another room and heard a couple having such violent and loud sex. Complete turn-off. On the hotel's website, they display a picture of the pool and in the corner of the picture, you can start to see a little bit of a jacuzzi...don't let it fool you! We arrived at the hotel STOKED to use their jacuzzi and pool...we were extremely disappointed to see the jacuzzi GONE and replaced with TILE FLOOR. The spa sign and spa timer were still visible on the wall...Last but not least, all of the rooms to the hotel are accessible only by your hotel key (so they say), however, my boyfriend and I noticed that we had to slam the door behind us to make sure it closed tightly and securely...therefore, anyone could've been coming through those doors.
Staff was great and very attentive to our needs Hallway our room was in smelled like marijuana when we checked in. Room did not have smoke detector. Facilities could really use updating. Room was great but hallways and other facilities seemed out of date and a little run down
Location easy to get to and convenient to coast Guard academy which we were visiting. Beds uncomfortable, breakfast poor, not even worth eating. Noisy at night. Easy to hear people outdoors, in hallways, and cars in parking lot. Wouldn't stay there again.
Balcony Bed bugs
My room was HUGE. A family of four would be extremely comfortable. Although the furniture was older, my room was very clean. Everything worked. The WiFi had a strong signal and was fast. Plenty of storage if you need it. Close to Walmart. Close to Stop&Shop. Close to the highways although not so close as to have any noise. This place was QUIET ! The best part was 3 nights for $200. Extremely good value, probably the best that I've ever experienced. The free breakfast was just OK. Not a lot of choices. But everything they did have was fresh and good. Pour new concrete in the entrance way. Somebody is going to trip on all those undulations and sue the heck out of you. Change the carpet in the elevator. It can't cost more than $50 and really makes a bad first impression.
The only good thing was that it was near foxwoods. There was random pieces of tape on the walls and holes in the wall. One of the draws in the kitchen area was duck tapes together and had screws sticking out of it. The dresser mirror was in the closet and one of the closet doors were off. The coffee table had stains on it and the microwave and refrigerator were very out of date and the toilet didn't flush right. Also the sheets and blankets had burn holes in them and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Do Not believe the pictures the room looked nothing like them.
Size on rooms Almost everything. Hole in wall. Iron leaked. Musty smell in hall and rooms. Filty elevator and carpet. Lots more issues but will be writing forever.
The space in the room was decent. The bed was very uncomfortable, the hotel was very outdated and literally falling apart, there was a mold smell in the lobby and the Continental breakfast was pitiful. We only stayed one night and will never go back.
It was inexpendive and close enough to the ferry. Not particularly clean and quite dated.
The rooms are huge! yes, they are dated, but that seems irrelevant when you open the door and see how much space you find. bed was comfortable and TV was modern and in a good location. Location is 10 miles or so from Mohegan and an easy drive. Short distance off Route 95. Staff was great and accommodating. I paid $91 total for TWO rooms and expected a hole. Instead, gigantic rooms, one was a suite with a kitchen, in a safe, quiet location and all was clean, though dated. it was all good. it wasn't a 5 star inn by any means, but you CANNOT beat it for even twice the price! I will definitely stay here again.
