Paid for king bed but got a queen bed instead
The room appeared clean.
DoubleTree gave us a room with a queen bed when we paid for a room with a king bed. The room was quite small. Only one elevator seemed to be working with caused people to line up to get on from the lobby.
Last minute trip to Toronto
The staff was very friendly
Found hairs in our bed and some bugs place looks a little worn
Older hotel , clean
The room was clean, corner room with lots of light. Easy check in and out.
Extremely loud old fashioned air conditioner, going off and on. No ice machine on Hilton honors floor. Remote did not work, and had no wash clothes in room. Not a luxury hotel.
Stuck in Elevator! Hotel Mgmt. = USELESS & INCOMPETENT Refused Refund
Worst hotel MANAGEMENT EVER! Was stuck in DoubleTree Hilton's downtown Toronto elevator for over an HOUR and management did NOTHING!! Only reason I got out was because I called the fire department and THEY got me out. DoubleTree sent an old man with a flashlight over an hour later. If I didn't take it upon myself to call, who knows how many more hours I would have spent there. Then they had the audacity to NOT REFUND either of my 2 nights because it was booked w/ a 3rd party provider. I didn't get stuck in the 3rd party provider's elevator, I got stuck in YOUR ELEVATOR. Avoid at all costs as management will not take care of you. Any other hotel would have refunded and given multiple free nights.
The location is great.
I had a problem with my reservation and was checked out a day earlier than expected on a group business trip. I was offered no help with my luggage.
Brilliant location!
It was walking distance to where I needed to be! Fantastic room, bed, clean, great desk for work. Loved it! Will be back! Close to eating places. Didn't get to use the pool or fitness centre but great they have them and close to St Patrick station. Staff were great. Love the warm cookie on arrival! Great deal
Nothing
Great staff and food
The staff went beyond to meet my needs. Always cordial and friendly.
Overall nice hotel
Friendly staff, great location
We didn't get the size of bed that we had prebooked, the hotel was sold out after I had already prepaid.
Rip off!
1st of all it was false advertisement as to what room I would be getting. I booked a room with 2 beds and I got one king for 2 people. I know what I booked & the 3rd party site switched it after booking. Anyway one of the managers who were dealing with people was very rude. To make matters worse they tell you that you can't have any visitors in your room after 9. Never heard of a stupid rule like this ever! Hilton won't ever get my money again.
Clean and comfortable
We had a nice stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was small but fine. I would stay there again. Good downtown location.
Great hotel. 20 minute walk to the rogers centre and the CN tower. Nice and clean. House cleaning staff were friendly when met in the hallways.
Front desk Staff were rude and unhelpful. Someone had vomited in the elevator and when alerted they were rude. Over an hour later when we came back it was still in the elevator.
They allowed us to keep our car in underground parking after check out wothout an additional fee which was very helpful
the bed
no newspaper
location in Down Town Toronto, near of the action
The receptionists, the conscierge, the front door staff and all the staff in the restaurants and the bar were very helpful and friendly. We never had to wait for a taxi and when we return to Toronto we will stay in the Metropolitan.
Nothing!
We like the fact that it was close to most of the theaters and the Eaton center, the staff was very helpful, and the breakfast was very good as well.
No complaints with the hotel, just not a lot of bars with live entertainment that I could find for 50 year old people.
They are charging service fee of 8 CAD per day. It is pretty unusal and not transparent at all, that you have to pay it in the first place and what is this charge for!!!!
Close to down town
-The ramp along side the walkway into the bar area. The area should be marked to indicated a different level. The room had the smell of cigarette smoke eventhough it listed as a non smoking room.
It was in heart of downtown. could easily walk to explore city. I used pool facilities few times. Free internet was available in the lobby. staff were very helpful and polite.
i was assigned a smelly room with dirty carpet on arrival. however when i asked, they changed my room the day after. the parking was small, difficult to drive in and availability was not guaranteed.
It was the best hotel I'd ever stayed at!
Great location for a week-end stay. The porters were most helpful. Clean room.
The checking in time was a bit late (2-3pm) after a long international trip but it was great to have access to the Spa area to freshen up. The staff at Reception was not so welcoming, which surprised me.
i checked in at 5pm and room was not yet available. I reserved a non smoking room but got a smoking room
