Location,price,free parking&breakfast excellent staff
Free Parking Great Continental Breakfast - fresh pastries; nice variety Very reasonable room rate (compared with hotels on NYC side of Holland Tunnel) Friendly front desk staff
Price Location to NYC Right next to major throughway to Holland Tunnel so trucks drove by all night. The breakfast was stale donuts and coffee.
The staff was really helpful The location was great
Great location walkable to path, waterfront, Main Street etc. Asked at front desk if there was a coffee shop to get a cup of tea, told I could go to the restaurant to buy tea or coffee. Meanwhile when we came down Sunday morning to go out for breakfast there was complimentary tea/coffee being served in the bar. Nobody let us know that. Lighting in our room was pretty poor.
I loved the view and the friendly staff How expensive the room was even compared to hotels in the city and the other boros
Staff very professional and helpful. Bed very comfortable The Valet staff was OUTSTANDING, they couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast very good. The room did not have enough light. Could not see read etc. no t.v. Channel line up in our room. Lighting in the bar seating area near the elevators was also not sufficient to read etc. No matter how I tried the water in the bathroom ,by the restaurant just came out in a trickle, if it even came out at all. I was mad as hell because I could not clean my hands properly. I had to run up to my room to wash My hands. I know you are trying to GO GREEN, but give me a break with the price we paid I should be provided with ample hot water and light. Help us to keep clean and not spread germs please
The hallway was smelly. There were too many areas on the desk to buy this or that candy, etc. The desk itself was heavily marred. Eh!! Wouldn't probably go back there.
Nice modern feel and friendly, attentive staff. Comfortable bed and nice late (12pm) check out. Too much upselling in the room: fridge is full of items to purchase as well as half the counter and all over (water on bedside tables and in bathroom, etc.). It was too in your face and too expensive. Room overlooking the club was very noisy until 3am closing. Water pressure in the shower was awful. Valet was expensive and it took them over 20min to locate my vehicle.
We only stayed for one night but it was amazing. The view of the Hudson and the city from our room was beautiful. The room itself was great! And it's walking distance to amazing resturants and bars. I am definitely going go be staying here again.
Clean room and 24 hour room service. Being charged for internet access at a high-end hotel is ridiculous. It's almost like the higher the cost is the more these companies think they can rip you off by charging for additional services (or thing in the mini-bar) as opposed to trying to provide the most value for that money.
Awesome guest service costumer service Loud family with crying child in the early morning waking us up everyday of our stay
The sky line view
location is fabulous, rooftop bar was very nice. the room was very small.
Location is great - the art is amazing and the roof top terrace restaurant/ bar is top
Very Very cool. From a British viewpoint it is like Malmaison but taken to the next level and with the addition of 5 star service. The concierge are very good at getting you into those 'hard to book' restaurants. The private guests only rooftop bar is very nice.
The service, room, restaurant, location were excellent.
unique, great location - very little street noise.
The rooms were cute. Not to small. Stayed here for New Year's Eve. Wanted a bucket of ice for the room so my wife and I could keep a bottle of champagne cold. They actually charged us $5 for the bucket of ice. Not even Motel 6 charges for ice. Room was also very hot and a lot of noise from the street and hallway. Bed hard and uncomfortable.
Valet took >45 minutes after being told 10-15 (I allowed 20). Had to request iron, wastes time. Tub drain was fully clogged and GROSS so water did not drain. Shower vent grate was FULL of GROSS dust + mold. Noise outside from traffic, garbage trucks + roof party letting out kept us awake ALL NIGHT, absurd! Sounded like windows on Lex.ave. were open, but they weren't, they're just inadequate!
Staff were very helpful and always on hand. The room quality was very high - the recent refurbishment has really focussed on top end materials and furnishings and for a hotel in central New York, the room was of a good size. Its central location in NYC is very helpful to get uptown or downtown and its situation gives an unusually peaceful night sleep in such a busy city. The roof garden was very nice, as were the bars, but some of the hotel claims are overdone. Cocktails are expensive by the time you add on service and tax.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel design and atmosphere were great. The bed was very uncomfortable - really hard. I stay at alot of boutique / pricey hotels and this was the worst bed I've had.
Room set up Very poor service! I had water & juice poured over me during breakfast with no apologies! Tea was served without tea cup! Bathroom light was out for one day and not replaced. Laundry list was not provided despite repeated requests.
the room and the position and the "edginess" of the hotel our first room (before we changed) only had a shower and not also a bath
The staff at this hotel are so friendly. Location is convenient across the street from a train line and a few blocks from little Italy. The hotel literally stinks. The room smelled so bad like regurgitated curry that we asked to switch. The second room smelled as well but not as bad, only in the bathroom. I think it must be the smell in the sewer pipes or something. Had to leave the bathroom door closed the entire trip so our clothes didn't smell like sewage.
Good design choices... nice bathroom (very Japanese)... simple, very comfortable, excellent bed/bedding. Highly polished wood floor a wonderful touch (no yukky wall-to-wall.) For this price ... it doesn't get any better. Highest recommendation for a budget hotel.
Staff is very pleasant. They help you with everything.
peace and quiet
Spotless, comfortable room. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Great location in the buzzing heart of Chinatown. Breakfast arrangements a bit scrappy at busy times.
The front desk staff are great! Small hotel but really cosy, clean and they know you by name! How warm is that?! The bed is so heavenly that I overslept all the time. The helpful hotel staff just makes my stay so memorable and I felt well taken care of though it was my 1st time in NYC. I wish there were security guards at the lobby as this is a smoke-free hotel thus I had to battle the cold winds and smoke just right outside the hotel in the public area but Chinatown is dead town in the evenings and it can be sketchy and dangerous in Bowery at night. Security could have been better so that hotel guests may feel more assured or no strangers gate-crashing the ground floor of the hotel whilst the actual lobby is on the 2nd floor.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy access by subway
Nice area, clean rooms, silence, very nice ladies at the reception We did not expect much of the breakfast, as it is included in the price, but you can do much better...
The room was ok in general but very old bed and basic curtain shower. Old noisy AC with dial. Extreme noisy all night.
We did appreciate the location, the wooden floor of our room and the breakfast included in our night rate. The noise coming from the street, no noise insulation, I think they should implement that a lot especuially for the rooms onto Bowery street and Grand Street.I think the linens (both bathroom and bed) should be cleaned much better, while the cleaning of the room was great!
The quoted price for occupancy at the hotel did not show the four separate tax charges added at checkout. I would have preferred to know exactly how much I would be charged at the time of booking.
the families gathering during the breakfast
Room that was very comfortable for a wheelchair user. Nothing, it was good.
Proximity to New York park and ride
Large room with 2 double and a sofabed are hard to find without going for a high priced suites. The charge included 4 adults and 2 toodlers at no extra charge. They pushed their $12 per person shuttle instead of helping us with public transit to go to new york city.
Excellent hotel, nice and big rooms with everything that you need if you came for shopping or Expo in Meadowlands. Could also serve as an alternative for budget tourist trip for NY. It costs only 2.5 usd to get a bus which is located 10 min nearby and you are in downtown Manhattan in 20-30 min. Located in an industrial zone, warehouses, etc
I enjoyed everything, especially the breakfast. The hotel is a non smoking hotel, but our room had a strong smell of smoke and it got into our cloths.
the hotel was excellent. clean, tidy and well equipped. very happy. some of the staff were grumpy and unhelpful.
Excellent space and large room. There was a nice breakfast. Location is difficult and neighborhood is ugly but that is New Jersey.
Room 513 - the first bed (closer to the room door) has bed bugs. My wife got bitten by bed bugs and is now under oral/skin treatment. Whilst the location is perfect for those with a tight budget, if this problems persist, i will encourage one to choose another hotel.
The staff was quite helpful and the breakfast offerings were very good. The air in the room was stale, and I couldn';t sleep through the night because of it.
The hotel was conveniently located and quiet. Also the room had an alcove so our baby had some privacy. Somewhat expensive for the service received, but otherwise a fine night.
Very comfortable. Great view and location!
The staff were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly and the hotel room we had wass excellent - spacious and with good amenities. Whilst there isnt too much to do, or see, in the immediate area with the ease of transport into Manhattan [the Path train from Grove station is only a ten minute walk away] it made a relaxing base.
The hotel is walking distance from just about everything and the light rail is behind it. Like the cookie at check in. Staff was very friendly. Had a room on the 3rd floor and the view was a roof with lots of vents.
All of the staff that I encountered were very nice. The bed was comfortable. I also loved the welcome cookie. It was a nice surprise and I was hungry!! The location was great for my needs and is just minutes away from the waterfront. The room was nice enough but there was weird white stuff on the walls and in the bathroom. Cleanser maybe? I went down to the bar area and had to wait 5 minutes to be seen/ seated. There were just a few people there so it wasn't a busyness issue. I ordered soup. A little over 5 minutes later the server responded to tell me that the soup would take 25 minutes. I ordered pizza instead. It was fine but I was disappointed. The temperature in the room was freezing. I adjusted it with the thermostat on the wall but the air conditioner continued on, event though I had selected 68 on heat. I ended up pulling the plug to get it to turn off after an hour of adjusting the thermostat and waiting for warmth. I was exhausted from a long day and got in bed to watch tv. The remote control would not turn on the television. I inspected the outlets and they were all okay. The button on the tv worked but, even then, I was only getting 4 commercial channels. The lights on the remote were coming on also so I figured it wasn't batteries. I decided to call the front desk. Unfortunately, the phone in my room did not work/ call to the front desk. I tried both lines but no luck. I even tried dialing other services available on the phone but that just rang and rang. So.... exhausted and frustrated, I got dressed and headed down to the lobby. I had to wait a bit as a few people were just checking in. The person at the desk was very nice and sent someone up to my room. The man arrived to fix the television. He was extremely nice but the issue did take about 15 minutes or so to resolve. He wasn't sure why the issue happened but he had to get a special remote and change some settings. In the morning, I headed down to the restaurant again. I asked if I could order from the menu. I was told buffet only, though I think there may have been a communication issue. I later asked a different server after I saw the selection up close. It was generally unimpressive. She said that I could order from the menu but I decided to just stick with the buffet since the menu would take longer and I felt like I was being a burden by ordering. I was extremely disappointed overall. The eggs, potatoes and waffles were all cold. I ate just a little bit and spent over $20 with tip. I was extremely disappointed. Overall, I wouldn't recommend or stay at this hotel again, unfortunately.
The reception staff, especially Felix, were very helpful and courteous. The room maids were polite and efficient. The hotel location was like an oasis with the nearby marina, shopping mall and street restaurants after the hustle and bustle of Manhattan.
Yes! Very convenient! Very nice hotel!
close proximity to light rail and subway lack of view, lack of customer service with rainy day needs; umbrella, dryer for coats and shoes. stayed 2 nights, but hotel split it to two separate nights and we have to check back in and re-key our room keys for the second night. brought personal pillow and maid service removed it during the daily cleaning. T/he pillow was never found.
Staff, including restaurant staff, were very friendly and professional Jersey City NJ. Accessibility from the highway was poor, even utilizing gps.
Great location. Easy access to NY center.
Views, staff, quality of the rooms and hotel Nothing
The staff at the counter for my check-out was carrying an attitude. She seemed not happy or not nice at all during my checkout process. Did not say hi or goodbye either. It gave me a feeling that I was in a DMV.
Great stay. Ideal for venturing into NYC great location.
Nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff.
The staff were extremely courteous, helpful and accommodating. At check-in, Debbie was wonderful, great sense of humor, and very professional. She upgraded our room and gave us a beautiful view of the Manhattan. The young man at the door was wonderful as well. He was kind and courteous. The beds were very comfortable and clean. We didn't like that there was a charge for wi-fi. We normally stay in hotels where the wi-fi is free. On the positive side, since we didn't use it for the 24 hours that we paid for, my credit card was credited and we were only charged half of the fee for wi-fi. Wasn't too thrilled about paying $3.00 for a coke from the little store either.
Comfortable bed 50 dollars for Below average scrabled eggs, potatoes, oatmeal for two... I was not impressed with the price or quality of food.
Good alternative to Manhatten. Rooms were a nice size, staff were polite and helpful and would definately reccommend this others.
Location location location, proximity to NYC is great, good food around the hotel area as well Was not able to check in until 2.5 hours after the check in time due to non-availability of rooms.
It takes only 5-minute walk from a station.
A great place to stay for a NYC weekend. Quieter than Manhattan, beautiful skyline view and very close to the PATH train. The staff is very friendly and the room was clean. Will stay there again.
Good value, well presented hotel Travelling into New York over the week end takes longer due to less frequent path trains
The staff where friendly, hotel located in nice area Room to small, please when you say room with a view be more specific
The staff was very helpful when I told them that I left my wallet at home with my ID and credit cards... They contacted my fiancee via email to verify my identity and cheked me in. Very grateful, thank you!
Situation and free internet. Staff quite friendly. I found strange that the hotel couldn't provide any bill with the excuse that hotel was paid via bookings.
The front end staff was always very helpful and pleasant
the rooms were compact but extremely comfortable - the people that cleaned the rooms did a perfect job - the sheets and towels were cleaned every day
i liked the head of staf - when she dident see the resorvation in their computer she calles the booking.com reservations and made shure that every think was ok on her free time - she was great the prices that the hotel gives are high for the facilities - they could lower the rate a little
Comfortable beds and adequate size room. Like not having to walk down long hallways. Very quiet even facing street.
Good hotel. Nice bar downstairs. Internet is free. Design quite strange. I guess they tried to imitate urban style. But it looks a bit depressive (dark brown and black colors, metal elements of bed and chairs).
Staff was very helpful. location is great. rooms are clean and beds comfortable. I would stay here again for sure.
Convenient location, nice desk staff room too small for comfort...elevators not effecient
It has a reasonable location in the heart of NYC. It was very disappointing overall, and did not meet our expectations. The room was described as having two double beds, when in fact it came with two single beds, the description of the room should be changed to twin room. The furniture in the room was also in poor condition and looked cheap, overall very poor value for the money paid.
Excellent location, friendly staff, free internet in room. Because the hotel was set back from buildings either side the room was naturally quite dark, and tended to be a little noisy, but it is on a busy street
The only thing we liked about the hotel was the location. The rooms were very small and filthy dirty. The staff was really rude. It was difficult to understand the English of the people working at the front desk and some of them were nasty.
We had a small suite and the room was very spacious, unlike many other NYC hotels. The bedding was not as luxurious as I would have liked. I could have used an extra blanket or two.
the New Yorker hotel is in a perfect location for visiting and shopping and we really appreciate this. Maybe the difference of price according to the days of staying. they should make a special offer for those like us who stayed for an entire week.
VERYy convenient location Rooms a little small - but they're only for sleeping in!!!
I have stayed at this hotel in numerous occasions and think its a good location . The front staff at the initial check in were the rudest staff I have ever met.I felt in this occasion they were despicable.I would therefore think very carefully before staying there again !
The location is perfect for shopping and sighseeing. Hotel has 2 restaurants serving good quality food. It has a spacious lobby with fast check in and out facilities. It offers security safes at no charge. Security is very strict in the lobby before you enter elevators which makes female travellers feel very safe. There are lots of really good restaurants nearby in 7th Avenue and en route to Times Square. I loved everything about the New Yorker. There is nothing bad about this hotel.
Good service, central location and not much noise. Missing Internet-café, as we did not bring the lap top with us.
Good location The hotel felt tired, although to be fair, work is being done to improve it
é um hotel histórico e muito bem localizado. Os quartos são limpos e tudo funcionando. O serviço de recepção é muito atencioso. Os quartos são pequenos, mas isso é comum em NY.
Nice position, good place to stay for shopping, city trip, and broadway shows. Nice view of the city from my room! room could be cleaner, average hotel staff, small room
the fact that is in the centre of NY rooms are very small and avg 200 $/night is too much
Location No views
You get what you paid for. The whole staff was excellent. They were courteous, and very accommodating especially the Filipino guy who always helped us with our luggage and arranged for our transportation. The front desk was very helpful with information about NYC. The room was fairly small but I already expected that since it was clearly stated in their website. I don't mind staying in a small room as long as it is clean and Hotel Mela is very clean. The Housekeeping assured that we have enough towels and toiletries and the lady was very polite. The Bistro downstairs was also very commendable. Their breakfast was superb and the service was impeccable. The location was perfect, too. As first timers in NYC, it really helped us because everything was walking distance to out hotel. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it to my friends. Thanks Hotel Mela! The first room we stayed in which was in 5th floor near the elevator needed an update. It was a bit dark but still ok.
Loved early bag check-in, friendly staff, safe environment, and location!
Central location. Close to business. close to restaurants and Broadway shows. Room is very small. Bathroom is very small. No place to store suitcase. small elevator. small lobby.
I had to make a last minute hotel booking in the city because my airbnb reservation fell through. Hoyle Mela was perfect. One minute from Times Square. Excellent price and the room was exceptional. I would definitely stay there again.
Bed was uncomfortable - cheap mattress. Not for anyone with any hint of back problems. Elevators are so small they only hold 2 people.
Professional, upscale, green! Close corners, small rooms and elevators.
Welcoming staff, easy check in, convenient location Great little restaurant serves good food and easy dining. Stayed many times at hotel and very consistent. Good value overall. Wish they had "loyalty" program for frequent guests.
Very helpful and friendly desk staff. Bowl of free apples on counter. Location is right in the middle of all the Time Square action and broadway shows, and lots of restaurants - if that is what you want. Staff booked our car service for trip back to airport and service was excellent and reasonably priced. Room space is tight. The closet for hanging up long pants is inadequate. Must call front desk to request a bucket of ice - no ice machines. Bathroom lacks sufficient towel rods and there is no place to hang up a wet washcloth, no shelf or niche in shower to place shampoo, body wash, etc except for one tiny triangular metal soap dish type thing. Only one shelf below the bathroom vanity to place toiletry bags, had to place hair dryer on floor. Hardly any counter space around bathroom sink, and only one narrow glass shelf above sink. Why is bathroom so sparse and lacking in these necessities? On one occasion, a drunk guest tried to open our room door at 2 a.m. and I had to yell out "This room is occupied. Get out of here!" in my best effort to sound like a tough New Yorker. This worked; he left.
The room was small (no chair, no real closet) but was clean and the elevators ran fast. Very close to Times Square, but relatively quiet. I would return and recommend to friends.
If you want to stay in Times Square or see a Broadway show, this is the place to stay. Clean, modern, and no frills. It was also a great value considering you are in the heart of the city. Ice had to be requested from the front desk as there was no self serve machine. Also, while there was a minibar in the room, there was no fridge for personal items
View & room size N/a
the hotel was in a great location no twin beds rooms
Nice design, clean rooms, good location Small rooms
The Gem hotel is in a great location. The facilities are minimal but good, and the staff are excellent. The rooms at The Gem are very small. The facilities are minimal.
The staff at this location is too notch!! Rooms were very small.
The staff was amazing! The rooftop patio is great! None of the rooms have more then one bed.
Staff was incredibly helpful and accomodating
Hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. Rooms were small, but that's typical of Manhattan.
The staff was very friendly and helpful The rooms were very small. The bed was too small.
The service of the staff was excellent. I would definitely return again and stay at The gem Hotel-Chesea.
The hotel was conveniently located for my purpose. It was also exceptionally clean and the staff was polite and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The location is great! I didn't mind that the room was small because I was only there to sleep. The morning staff was super friendly and helpful. The evening staff was rude and not as welcoming as the morning staff. I was a bit put off but again, just for the purpose of sleeping I didn't mind staying here.
The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room, although small, was clean and was serviced daily. Also, the location is excellent.
Clean, great location, close proximity to the restaraunts and a boardwalk. Very comfortable stay.
Location Paying for parking
It's location and price were what sold us on the hotel; it was convenient to New York City. The staff was pleasant, helpful. The red color of the room.
Nice view of the Hudson/Manhattan
The location of the hotel and the Manhattan view.
Staff was excellent and very helpful. Pool great. Would have like to watch tv from bedroom but tv was only visible from sitting room. Very clean accommodations. Comfortable bedding overall stay was outstanding. As stated previously would like to see tv from sleeping area but you could only see tv in sitting area. Also a small refrigerator in the room would be nice.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and informed.
Staff were very helpfull and professinals. couldnt get a room with view.
The staff was very pleasant and the rooms are nice and new and clean The fact that you need to pay for parking for your car.
Rooms were very nice and spacious and away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Sound proofing between rooms is very poor. You can hear even normal conversations. Restaurant very expensive for the quality of food and service very slow.
Location. Staff.room. Everything good. But breakfast is no free..well last week hotel book time my pakage is have a breakfast but staff say . Pay breakfast..
Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and cosy, nothing really to complain about. Location was on the New Jersey side and sometimes we had to wait for a bus, but the connections were pretty good.
The bed is very comfortable and the location is excellent. I stayed for one day only, so can't say much more. Because the hotel is old, a lot of its structure is rusted. It should definitely be renovated. The bedroom is small, but clean. The aged look is interesting, but they should change furnitures as soon as possible! It wouldn't be my first choice of hotel if I had to come to the city again.
Location was very good Long waiting times at the front desk Poor service when requesting an additional blanket Fee for storing suitcases after check-out Expensive parking Expensive Outdated No kettle or coffee maker
I liked that it is right next to Penn Station and just two blocks from the venue where the concert I was there to see. The bathroom was very small, the TV was at least 15 years old and about 30ft from the bed.
Location Check in took an hour, staff unmotivated, Rooms dirty, carpet ripped, beds uncomfortable and dirty, shower leaks all over bathroom and water temperature fluctuates from scalding to cold, thermostat broken so room temp uncontrollable, had to open window.....remote broken TV had one channel....just a terrible experience. ...they should be ashamed of themselves.
Maria B at the reservation area was fast and efficient. She got me in my room quickly without any headaches. She suggested a room upgrade which I agreed to and it made my night better. I'd say that she was the main one that kept me from ranking the service really low. Location was excellent. Check in was at 3:00pm and I arrived at 2:30pm. I asked one of the bell folks if I could use the bathroom and he gave me two key cards saying that "one of these should work". I went to the lower lobby area to open the door and both keys didn't work. I then went to the luggage check-in area and asked if I could use the bathroom. They said they didn't have a key either. Ok..now this is pretty damn ridiculous. I went back upstairs to the bell desk and told them that both keys didn't work. The guy told me to go to the reservation check-in area and see if I could get a key.... I was ready to give the front desk a piece of my mind, but the lady suddenly said that I was able to check in early (which made me feel better). I was asked if I wanted to get a room upgrade and I said yes. Really - all I needed was to use the restroom. It was pretty crazy how tough it was for a guest to do something as simple as that.
Only Location. Ugly and old room no air conditioner Bed to small for a a couple.
NOTHING Rude staff. Super dirty. Charged far more than listed.
This hotel banks on its location adjacent to Penn Station. That is the only positive and has allowed them to avoid improving. The facilities are atrocious: dirty rooms, bedbugs, outdated fixtures, uninvested staff, and hidden fees.
Location to Penn Station and Msg couldn't be beat Little noisy. Not there fault.
Location Bad hotel
The location is very good. The price is high as compare to the quality of rooms but I guess it's because of the location I guess the price is high but rooms and bathrooms needs to be repaired.
Location Mold in bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. Thin towels. Mentioned to staff they said that's what you get when reservation are made on kayak.
Location, staff, comfortable and spacious room, great hot water and pressure We were there on a busy holiday weekend and the staff could not have been more accommodating amidst the full house. Only negative was very gross dirty old carpet, which psychologically detracted from the cleanliness otherwise. If they replaced the carpets or put noncarpet flooring in instead, I would rate this hotel excellent. We loved the neighborhood, the location, the staff, and the reasonable price.
Hotel Stanford is so convenient for anything you want to do in NYC. The hotel is spotless and the staff could not do enough for you! Would definintely recommend it to friends and cant wait to stay there again!!! The cafe that serves the complimentary breakfast buffet is a bit small and you have your coffee/tea in paper cups. Also, the buffet is included with the room but when you try to take it up to your room you have to pay $10!!!
Good location, and spacious room. Booking.com did not include the city taxes in their estimate. Therefore, the bill was larger than expected and larger than the amount disclosed by Booking.com.
Good location, room was available on time, staff was friendly and helpful. It was a good option for us to have a visit to the city at a reasonable cost. No complaints. The place is under construction, which just meant the staff seemed somewhat confused at times. We did not have any issue with construction noise (stayed on the weekend) or any thing else negative.
Close to Times Square and Penn Station, 1 block from R train
hotel room was clean and staff was very friendly and kind. breakfast was enough and clean. location is really fine. everything was ok, thank you for all. brakfast room was a bit small.
Staff were very friendly and professional. The location of the hotel was ideal.
Accom spacious , staff very helpful , pleasant , and carried out their individual tasks smiling . Having to queue for breakfast .
Location is great. Value for the money was good. Bathroom was spacious. Blankets were dirty. Found hairs on the blankets and in the sheets, suggesting they were not washed before our arrival. One elevator only fitting 8 people is a little crazy for such a large hotel.
The location of this hotel is the best part
I like that it is fairly affordable for being in the city. I think the staff isn't very friendly. They seem to be managed by someone who makes them very unhappy and pushes them to not focus on courtesy and service but rather the bottom line, money.
only the fact that it is in a central location very basic, website does not give a true picture of the hotel it flatters the reality. would not stay there again
Great location. Clean and friendly staff. Nothing special. Would like to use it next time too.
Location was perfect for marathon activities and staff was very helpful. Rooms a bit small, but ok for value.
It was central to everything in NY, within a few minutes walk you were in one of the major attractions of NY. It was reasonably priced. Good servicing. The room was a bit small, but was bearable.
The location was great. It was extremely clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. I would appreciate having a airport shuttle.
Quick and easy check in and check out; tight security; pleasant, budget-friendly rooms Problems with electronics--TV difficult to turn on/off, alarm clock malfunctioned, heating/cooling system unresponsive to thermostat
Location. Amiable staff. Free internet Reception. Sometimes you have to wait too long to th elevator
Great Location and services, comfortable room, bar and food was excellent. Delighted with the thoughtful ref. books left in our room and the "Club" atmosphere. *****
Room on floor 5 under fitness center on 6, Very distracting with pounding of treadmill at most hours. Renovation needed on room (stained sofa carpet not vacuumed, bath door off support called and told didn't have part in stock to fix, glasses not cleaned etc.) Level of customer service minimal. will move on next trip to other hotels.
I liked best the kindness and the availability of the staff. The bed sheet was not done carefully, except on the first day. The cover was just drawn.
The staff were unhelpful, rude and the room wasn't clean or to standard. Thoroughly disappointed.
the location next to Rockefeller center
The staff was excellent; courteous, helpful, engaging and friendly. The room was spotless and comfortable with nice amenities. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.
The staff, location, and quality of the hotel for the price cannot be beat in New York. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and I travel to New York often, usually staying in hotels like the W. Nothing.
Location Rooms were very very small, bathrooms were even smaller, no room to move in and no storage space whatsoever in room at all
Nestled into a quieter part of Manhattan (or at least not as hopping as Times Square) the Roger feels like a bit of an oasis. The hotel did a great job of converting its rooms so they don't feel like an old apartment with a fresh coat of paint and an over-sized photo of old Chelsea. The lobby is pleasant, there is a small, intimate cafe on the landing and the rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. This was my first time and would stay again.
Stunning hotel. Stayed here for 4th of July weekend. Location is amazing, room is amazing and staff was amazing. Will be back next time while I'm in NYC. Parking is a hassle and valet is 55$ a night.
Great service. Very clean. Rooms weren't spacious but very clean and modern. Extremely comfortable bed and bedding
Most everything. My only facilities detraction was the shower water temperature bounced around. The location is not in the middle of anything, but it is close to a lot.
I loved the terrace facility , made a big difference to me comfort. I will use this property again when visiting New York. First room I was allocated was way to small , requested a change and reception was very accommodating.
Large room was clean and recent renovation Couple blocks from 34th st subway Tiny bath but was clean and modern
Just entrance Very small space of room, very expensive if you think about cost vs. benefits. Even breakfast of us$ 24,50 and us$ 6,53 for a bottle of water???? The most expensive experience that I had when I am trevelling all around the world during last 20 years!!!!!!!
I liked the modern design and the crisp clean linens. Unable to control temperature of room. Also found a large roach crawling on the floor. The staff rectified the situation immediately.
Nice staff, comfortable mattress and linens, great shower, funky style and great location - walk to everything and close to subway Ultra small bathroom sink and counter, A/C didn't cool the room below 72 even with the thermostat turned down to 60. Bed also on a platform, and corner of the base jutted out far enough that I whacked my shins on it to the point of heavy bruises - totally my fault but just beware!!
This is a wonderful establishment where we stayed for almost a full week. The doorman was very polite, as were the receptionists. We had a few special requests, which were all met with ease. When we commented that the room was a little small they showed us a larger room, which we chose to decline. Our room ended up being perfect for the two of us. The sushi restaurant on the first floor is incredible, we dined there twice during our stay. Everyone is very attentive here. I am very excited to plan our next trip and return to this hotel.
Location was excellent Room was too small and cramped for the price.
The hotel was exactly what I needed it to be. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The room was extremely clean, and the bathroom was updated. I would definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel was absolutely wonderful… Close to Times Square and close to the subway station which takes you everywhere you need to go in New York City. The only con would be the size of the room, but that was not a problem for me because I was by myself. Most rooms in New York City are very small so I would not put this as a negative for this hotel.
The size of the room was bigger the expected and the location was fab! The staff were very friendly.
Clean, cosy, Staff is very nice and helpfull. Small rooms.
Great location, free wi-fi, friendly & helpful staff . Tiny rooms, hotel amenities.
Hotel was central to all the sights and sound of NYC we will be returning!!! Times Square a short walk from one end of the street and Hells Kitchen District packed with great bars and restaurants at the other....great Sushi place next door. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean with fresh soft towels and clean linen everyday. Car service available from the hotel to the airport was also great......most hassle free holiday I think i have ever been on!!
Staff were very friendly, especially the concierge. Room was really clean. no complaints
The position near Times Square - the bed was very big the room was small - the wardrobe was small and there was little space for luggage
Rooms are way tooooooooo small!!!!!!!!!! The bathroom, tiny!!!!!!!!!! The headboard on bed, dirty!!!!!! Not acceptable!!! No extras in regards to pillows and linens. Location, great!
Easy to find, central to metro, restaurants and bars. The staff were very good, no issues. The room was very clean and tidy and the KS bed was very comfortable. Overall I would stay again. Only two minor issues, some street noise at front of hotel and the toilet/shower are could have been slightly bigger
Sorry to say but nothing. Our luggage (2 med sz) took up half of our floor walking space. The bathroom was tiny. I am 5'1" and didn't have enough elbow room. The entrance to the hotel was presentable until we stepped into the hallway leading to the stairs which we had to take since the ancient elevator would operate at a turtle pace. Climbing up 3 flights of stairs was a lot faster. We were very dissapointed with the room for the amount we paid for the stay.
Great location, friendly staff
Location near subway was extremely convenient. Rooms were spacious by New York standards; the bed was very high quality and firmness could be adjusted differently for the two sides. The hotel was located near many excellent restaurants encompassing a wide variety of cuisines and price ranges. Walls were a little thin, so one could hear everything going on in the hall outside and arguments in the next room.
The metro station direct in house.
My body was on west coast time and I tried to take a shower at 2am but there was no hot water. They also ding you an extra $5 for usable internet.
easy to get everywhere
We like to stay in this hotel is clean and very friendly
