View was nice Lights were broken, bathroom sink was clogged, had to unplug either the main light or the alarm clock to charge one phone, sheets were dirty, elevator was broken. I understand it's an older hotel, but the upkeep seemed almost non existent. If they spent half the time they did on building their website to actually clean the place up instead of making it look good online it might actually be comfortable. No fridge or microwave, which is fine, but I expect at least a nice room if you are going to skimp on the standard amenities.
The location is the only plus of this hotel The hotel is designed to give the minimum service and use its location and special events like collage graduation to charge the max. It is a black eye to the city of Boulder which otherwise was amazing.
checking out and checking into the marriott down the street stayed 4 nights; service provided in the room on 1 day; had to repeatedly call front desk for fresh towels; clean cups; it's a party hotel for CU football games; if you're a family, stay away from this hotel.
While the main lobby and rooms above it may be nice. We stayed in the old west wing known as the sporting wing. Elevator broke down. Seems a little dated and hallways and elevator not too clean, especially for the price. Room was clean.
Outdated and dingy. Elevator did not work. Staff called the place a "piss-hole".
I woke up and saw a bedbug in the folds of the sheets. I was able to kill it and positively identify it as a bedbug before bringing it to the front desk. They switched my room for the last night of my stay, but travelers should be aware of bedbugs in the sporting wing of the hotel.
Ease of access to Boulder Creek. Friendly, accomadating staff. Nice pool area. Dated, dingy room. Few bathroom amenities. Poolside grill/gazebo and restaurant seemed to be non operational on the two days we were there.
Location The noise of house keeping early in the morning
The property looked out of date and tired. The guest rooms reminded me of something out of the 1980's. Never again
This place is pretty run down.
The proximity to University of Colorado Boulder sold me, however the rest of the service was not worth the price. When I got in to my room, I could smell
Room size friendly housekeeping staff. Nice grounds. Oh complementary coffee in the morning in the lobby
Loved the turn-of-the-century decor - stained glass ceiling in the lobby, original 1900's caged, operated-by-a-person elevator, fireplace in lobby, original safe behind the front desk etc. Loved the location right in the middle of downtown Boulder with access to shopping, restaurants and the beautiful trail beside Boulder creek. Staff were delightful - as the hotel wasn't full, they upgraded us to a suite, so the 3 of us had both a living room and a bedroom in the historic side of the hotel. Perfect. Enjoyed a perfect dinner in the hotel restaurant. Had to eat breakfast at the airport. There was a coffee pot in the room, but not really a convenient place to grab a quick breakfast. It would be great if there were a coffee shop either in the hotel or next door. Some of the antique furniture in the room really needed to be re-upholstered. But the feeling was very turn-of-the-20th-century.
This place is awesome - Closest lodging to the Boulder Downtown and more than accommodating. Would recommend for Business or Pleasure stays.
The bed was wonderful. We also like the decor and location. Room service was good. Wall paper
Awesome old building, with good food and drinks. Lotta stuff to see and do with in walking distance. Super nice and helpful staff as well. Little spendy, but a cool place none the less.
The view of the flat irons was great. Location was awesome. The hotel was both modern and charming. The furnishings were nice. Second vanity and sink outside the bathroom. We did not drive (because we knew parking would be limited and expensive). Although I would have expected a pool given the price, there was a lot to do in the area. Everything we wanted was within walking distance. We like room service. However, the one breakfast we ordered did not come with any condiments (salt, pepper, butter, jelly). The woman who delivered the food did not make any eye contact (although she was perfectly polite). We did not order room service after that. Also, there is no table on which to share a meal in the king room we had. One person had to sit at the desk on the other side of the TV console, so we could not even see each other while we talked and ate. A little TV tray for the other wing-back chair would have been nice.
Location was excellent; staff was very courteous and professional, surrounding were very historic. Nothing
Loved the elevator! Loved the old music playing! The staff was friendly and attentive. Great valet service. Restaurant was yummy. And the Corner Bar had a nice selection of good beer. Didn't find any fault.
I enjoyed the ambience of the hotel. The accents in the room were very nice and make staying at this historic hotel very enjoyable.
Kind and attentive staff
Hotel is wonderful, with great character (it's on the National Register of Historic Places). Staff are very friendly and appropriately attentive without being intrusive. They addressed me by name after 2 days. The hotel had a water leak in another room and the room in which I stayed had a musty, damp smell to it as a result.
The hotel could not be better located. The restaurant was reasonably priced, though we just ate there for breakfast. It had the modern amenities with the feel of a historic hotel. The have a small fitness room, but you can work out for free at ONE Fitness which is a two block walk.
I can still remember my last stay. Staff was not friendly.
Friendly staff. Good location in central Boulder. Walls were a little thin.
Newly built, very well designed room Sectional sofa, have guests without making them sit on a bed. Lots of shared space on the ground floor Proper DirectTV with Program Guide & 10 free premium channels Whole Foods 1/4 mi away Empty mini-fridge Twinings Tea in-room $10/day parking. A couple of quick train passes overnight (earplugs on the nightstand, but I didn't need them).
Friendly staff, very clean rooms, loved the layout of the rooms and how big they were, had a beautiful view of the mountains, comfortable bed, overall very pleased! There really wasn't anything we didn't like, even the parking was reasonable
The staff are very attentive with good knowledge of the area. The room is clean as expected of any Marriott.
Boulder Marriott is in a great location. Rooms were clean, facilities are very nice. My only gripe is for the money I paid they wanted to charge me $12-16 for WiFi access. Really? You get free WiFi at cheaper locations and a free breakfast. Felt like I was being nicklel and dimed for basic amenities.
Nothing I arrived at 11 p.m. due to flight delays and the hotel and given my room away after they had already charged my credit card. It was Admit weekend at CU-Boulder and approximately 4,000 students and families were in town so all hotels were sold out. NO ONE at the hotel attempted to contact me via text, email or phone to alert me that my room was given away to an existing guest that decided to extend their stay. Imagine...arriving in a strange city with your 18 year-old and no place to stay...extremely disappointing.
I have no complaints about the hotel except that it was a bit farther from Pearl Street and campus that I was lead to believe in the description. However, since we did take a taxi to and from the areas, it could have seemed longer because of the horrible construction traffic. The hotel, although, not fancy had everything I needed for a short or extended stay. I would stay there again if the price was right (and it was!)
Hotel was very comfortable. Enjoyed the indoor pool and it was very clean. Room was good size and beds were comfy. The room had a balcony which is hard to find these days. Enjoyed having morning coffee, evening glass of wine and just the pleasure of letting fresh air in, loved the balcony!!!! The breakfast area was nicely decorated, spacious and created unique spaces for all different situations. Food was excellent, health conscious and affordable. Staff was accommodating.
This property has recently been redone & we loved the clean modern Zen look. All the amenities for travelors are there from email to printing out one's boarding ticket & more. We extended our stay so we didn't need to move.
Everything was excellent, healthy breakfast and very well served.
Very comfortable. Easy in and out for one night stay. Clean. Staff was accommodating. Good value for price. Located near shopping, Target, restaurants.
A little ways from Pearl St but a solid overall choice for staying in Boulder. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
I recently stayed here for a local film festival and was very pleased. It is located right off of Foothills Pkwy (Highway 157), so it was easy and convenient to find. It is also only five minutes from lovely downtwon Boulder and maybe seven minutes from the University of Colorado campus. The staff were very friendly and even remembered my name the next morning! The rooms are spacious with very large TVs. The lobby looks recently rennovated and is decorated in a very chic modern style, and the food at the little cafe is pretty good. I stopped by the pool and the hottub, but did not get in. We also used the laundry facilities, which are convenient and reasonable. Overall, a great place to stay. Next time I'm in Boulder this will be my first choice.
This hotel worked out so well on our first trip, we stayed there again. Really enjoyed their cafe for breakfast (something as simple as oatmeal became a little special with assorted dried fruits and nuts to mix in). The hotel is nicely appointed, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Free newspapers, coffee and computers in the lobby 'business center.'
When I saw the Pearl Street address online, I had mistakenly thought that the property was CLOSE to downtown - IT'S NOT. It's out on the very outskirts ..did I say out? You are not within walking distance of anything....\nI had some Marriott giftcards that I planned to use to pay for my trip - $800 worth. When I checked in, the hotel did not know how to process the giftcards, and didn't know who to call. They told me that I would have to put the room on my credit card, until they figured it out...which pretty much ruined our stay as I didn't have an 'extra' grand on my credit card - since I also had a car rental on it!!! To me, there was no excuse - they should know how to process their own gift cards, and not have left me 'high and dry' for 7 days. They did comp me breakfast (whoopee...$10...) for 2 of the 7 days.....
I've stayed at several different hotels in Boulder and this is by far the best. Not quite the best location for the University but very clean, comfortable beds and nice staff. My first choice when visiting Boulder. Draw back is it is a little removed from main area but within 5 min. drive to many places to eat, shop and movies.
Hotel was convenient to all our activities. Room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. A rental car is essential if you do not have your own transportation. A bit further out from downtown and Pearl Street area, but still very easy access to everything. Would definately stay again.

Location, quality of staff and breakfast.
The modern look and open studio set up as well as the private entrance. Not that I can think of.
Large Room Adjacent to highway and train tracks (lots of noise)

The grounds were beautiful and the staff very pleasant. It was nice and quite setting - tucked back from the main roads.
Clean, friendly staff, right off foothills hwy Nice breakfast spread Grounds nicely maintained Loud a/c in the room
The breakfast was excellent My room backed up to a highway and the traffic noise was very loud. The room smelled of smoke from a previous occupant.

More than a hotel room in an area convenient to our business in Boulder. Could not connect to internet on IOS devices. Called tech support, no go. Was awakened more than once each night by train whistle. Was not advised about train crossing disturbances.
Great atmosphere, courteous Staff and well designed campus.
The room was very clean and comfortable. I liked the back patio area the room had as well. It was not close to anything in particular, so the location was a bit inconvenient.
I like how clean and moderniZed it all was, however I wanted a room with a view and they gave us a room with a view of the construction site next door. The breakfast was amazing and hot!
the sitting chair the sauna seemed dirty and was switched off
it was a bad choice, woundn't choose again. the shower didnt' work and the clerk acted as though it was something I did. The faucet never worked and I didn't have time to call for repair as I had a scheduled business meeting to attend and had to take a sponge bath. see above
Good location. Price good. Mildew smell in carpet detracted. Spa area dirty and needs upgrade.
I liked where it was and the room was comfortable Price and inconvenience
The location was convenient to my son's apt. The hot tub is big although the jets were erratic.... The breakfast was awful--carbs & cardboard. Terrible lighting in the vanity area.
Beautiful structure Structure falling apart, tremendous amount of deferred maintenance. Exceptionally down in the dumps attitudes from most of staff. Average food at best for a B&B. Killed plenty of flies and spiders but I left the webs in the corners. Pretty sad.
The inn was charming, the owners very friendly and personable. Lack of elevator access to second floor for luggage
Modern We were first on the wait list for an additional day when someone called in requesting three days ---so they put this person in ahead of us. We of course moved to a more user-friendly hotel. Hampton Inn had the nerve to call us the following day to invite us back! We thought this policy was certainly a poor choice and especially since we could have requested any amount of time and then cancelled what we didn't want to use! Also, our room was very small and a bit overpriced.
The location is a little out if the way.
Staff was efficient and accommodated my request for a quiet room. Room was comfortable, though initially overheated. Location excellent: close to Pearl St, university, and offices. Very poor quality breakfast. Parking lot was partially covered in ice (dangerously so) because of drainage problem.
Great location, large, clean room. Good TV with HBO included. The guests above us kept my wife awake just by walking around in their room. An upper room might be a better choice for light sleepers (there are two floors). The toilet and shower are in a separate room, with two sinks outside. The area with the sinks does not have a door separating it from the rest of the room, which makes it hard to use at night without turning on a light.
Close to Unv. Boulder, and downtown long walk to room
Decent wifi. Walking distance to campus. No cold water, no hot water, only warm water. Nobody at front desk for check-in, had to wait a while. Some light bulbs burnt out in room. Shower drained slowly.
Proximity to CU Boulder Smell of Marijuana on the 3rd Floor
Cool vintage decor. More to offer than you would think. Attached salon, large fitness centers, meeting room. Very nice and friendly staff. Hairdryer on room didn't work. Found a couple spiders.
i liked that it was a cheap price. We stayed for a football game, so the location was nice for that as well. The staff was nice and accommodating all weekend. Even though the facility is pretty dated, I found the room to be cleaner than I was expecting. Dated decorations. Looks like its from the 70s. And not in a good way.
Good location. Reeked like Marijauna in the halls, and the room was musky. There were hairs on the bath towels and walls of the showers. The sheets were at least clean, but I'm not to sure about the comforters.....
Free breakfast was better than expected. Little chocolate donuts, pancake machine. Hot water in room 134 was barely lukewarm. Hotel not kept up like it used to be.
Very dirty, everything is worn out and dated. Extremely overpriced for what you get.
It is an older hotel and they are refurbishing the entire hotel over time, so there are many things in individual rooms that look tired. Overall though, the beds are comfortable and clean. If you don't plan to spend your vacation in the room, it's a deal.
Strange smell in the corridors, no ice machine in the 3rd floor, very bad shower, no hot water, damaged WC cover in the room, breaffast offer very limited not meeting high international standards
I think this place could really pop... if some effort was made to update..cleaning painting, etc especially hallways. Loved the old paneling look... 70s feel... but needs lighting. Hallways were dark. Elevators dank. Laundry room smelled. Rooms smelled like curry. Ventilation compromised.
The front desk clerk was very short on his answers to simple questions. I was in town for the annual Bolder Boulder road race. The hotel staff acted like they had never heard of it. It draws 53,000 people! The hotel was okay but the price was high for what you get. I wouldn't recomend. It's located on the outskirts of Bolder. Try something on 28th if you want closeness to Pearl St. Mall or other attractions.
In reading the previous reviews I was not looking forward to staying at this Holiday Inn but I had few options. Once there I was very happy with both the room and the breakfast supplied. I am an early riser and found the meals, even if only a cereal with juice and some fruit, easily held me over until lunch time. Upon arriving late I found walking to the nearby Mexican eatery both convenient and safe.
In one room the heater wouldn't work, in another room the window wouldn't lock or close and it was cold outside! Don't pick a room with a balcony as the light on the balcony NEVER goes out and the curtains don't sufficiently block the light! Turn the mini fridge off cause it sounds like a jet plane ready for take off. Other than all of that, pick ANOTHER hotel for your stay in Boulder!
Front desk with an attitude. Management stunk from top to bottom. Room had bad odor and we don't think they changes the sheets on one of the beds. Staff acts like they are the guest anwe werea bother. We planned to stay 4 days but cancelled after one and they still charged for 2 days. Count me as a lost customer.
Room was clean. Staff friendly. Free bottles of water every afternoon in lobby was nice. Breakfast was good. If staying with kids, ask for passes to Gateway Park. These saved us $30.00.
The staff was helpful, great restaurants nearby. I liked the way the staff has different treats during the evening and the breakfast was nice.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located at the far north end of town, a few minutes away from restaurants and shopping, but buses were cheap, clean and ran by the hotel every 15 minutes, making it easy to get around. Overall a very nice stay in a clean, quiet and comfortable room.
Location is good for Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park.Service is good. Good breakfast, free popcorn, cookies, and internet. Neighborhood features brand new buildings across from oldtime cafe's and stores. Some industrial businesses in the area. Rooms with a balcony get a view of the Flatirons.
The staff are very friendly, the rooms are soothingly decorated and clean, and they have afternoon popcorn and cookie time in addition to the full continental breakfast. Cookie time! The worst feature is that it's located on the outskirts of town, so be ready to drive or take the SKIP bus (which stops right out front and comes frequently).
Enjoyed everything with my stay. Staff was very friendly always willing to help. Helped me find a hotel near the airport as I had a early morning flight even made the reservation for me. They just remodeled their rooms really nice. I will return next time I'm in Boulder.
The Holiday Inn Express in boulder is OK, until you need something. The staff is unpleasent and when you ask to speak to management, they are even worse! The pool had no lights on at night and it was outdoors so we swam in the dark! Not a single housekeeper in the morning could help because none of them spoke a stitch of English, there are no views of the mountains and it is extremely hard to find. This hotel has the poorest customer service I have ever seen.
The location is within walking distance of one of oulder's most iconic bars, The Dark Horse. While the building itself is in need of an update, the continental breakfasts, free jazz performances, and indoor pool were all great perks that shouldn't' be overlooked. The keycards get deactivated very easily due to how they're made. I had to switch them out a few times during my stay. Other than that, the hotel is in need of a remodel. The building design is a bit of a maze & a lot of the older carpet & design is just outdated & gives off an old business park type of vibe. But overall the hotel was good for an extended trip on a budget.
The pool was amazing. We also loved the lounge and Cory, the bartender, was so friendly and provided great service and a lot of laughs. The bed was uncomfortable but otherwise the room was in good condition.
Had to stay here several times while looking for a place to live in Boulder.. The staff was awesome and the hotel is very flexible, i.e. they let us cancel reservations up to the last minute and check out late no problem. The continental breakfast and pool / hot tub are great here too. Definitely the best valued hotel in Boulder.
Very nice decor and location They are closing!!!
Room was big.it was very close to downtown and the park with the Flat iron mountains. Staff was very nice and helpful. The bathroom was not clean. There was a loud, constant noise out of the drain in the tub. There was lots of road construction getting to and from the hotel.
