should be free no $21/day
the room was very comfortable - perfect location for exploring around shanghai. only stayed 1 night as a stop over before continuing on my journey, but gym was very good. i arrived at around 9am - normally check in is at 2pm; i asked if they could accommodate me; they said they could, but i would have to pay half a day extra!!! i have done this before at other hotels and never been an issue. also, first check in counter the staff said no room available so i waited an extra half hour and spoke to someone else who said there was a room available! crazy! also rooms looking a bit dated now, but otherwise comfortable; and yes i did pay the extra half a day! :(
- Good breakfast selection Oldfashion shower
spa was very nice and all staff were extremely helpful - definitely a pleasant place to be based out of, and a very central location for such a big, spread out city. lobby slightly dated, but possible it was just Chinese sense of decor. Recommend signing up for breakfast package, as we did not and ended up paying $50/breakfast for 2 which is ridiculously expensive over there
Location, price/quality, gourmet corner! Room service comes very early (7.00-8.00 in the morning)
the people working there really try their best and the service is excellent.
The location of the hotel is good. The pictures shown in bookin.com website is different from waht we got. the rooms needs refubishment.
Great executive lounge, comfortable rooms, friendly personnel. The bathrooms still no separate shower and very small
Location and convenience to subway and expressway. The shower was the worst that I had experienced in many hotels and that water smelled foul. It was impossible to regulate the water temperature. If I had more time I would have switched rooms.
Closed to city center. Staff friendly. Have to modernize furniture of the room.
Modern, great service,, good food and wine. Convent to city and shopping. I will stay again.
I really like the door guy, he new my friends name, even though he had not stayed in the hotel for 9 months. All the staff was friendly and the location was perfect. Location
Staff very available and kind; the hotel is quiet, close to shopping area and places of interest
Clean, Modern, Great Water Pressure AC & Heater is very noisy (it won't allow you to sleep at night), Bathroom has see through window so no privacy from the room, beds are very hard, not enough plugs for computers, iPhones, iPads, etc.
The hotel is modern and almost perfectly located in the Jing'An district of Shanghai. It is a 5 min walk to the Subway station and around the corner from a number of great eateries both Chinese and Western. Travel time to places like the Bund/Concessions and Financial District are less than 30 mins by Taxi even less by Subway. Most of the staff speak some English which was not always the case in other 5-star hotels in China. Concierge was well informed and more helpful than the average as well. Another reviewer mentioned that they didn't like the hard beds. I like the firm, yet comfortable mattresses they have. All 5-star hotels in China provide you with two bottles of drinking water per day. Swissotel's bottles were actually half-bottles. This is really nit-picking but I couldn't think of anything else I didn't like!
Very comfortable hotel, superb attention to detail, very friendly staff nothing
Easy to get to by the metro, this hotel was a great value. Very nice rooms and a friendly staff, I very much enjoyed my stay. Easy walking to restaurants, the Jing An Temple and shopping.
Modern, clean and efficient. Good location and public transportation, such as the MRT Subway, is just a few steps away. The main restaurant on the 2nd floor offers an excellent buffet breakfast with great international food variety ; however, the staff needs to be more pro-active to ensure an efficient service. On several occasions there were no tables available, not because they were occupied by other guests but because they were not clean. The waiters, seems to be waiting for something to happen because some of them are not pro-active enough, seems they are waiting for instructions, or maybe they prefer to remain in their "comfort zone".
Clean & big room. Comfortable interior decoration. Attitude of staff in reception isn't like 5 star hotel. Not enough hot water to take bath.
If you want to use subway, its one block away. Shopping is right in front of hotel.
The location is great.
Nice, well furnished, comfy rooms. Professional staff. Good variety for breakfast. Coffee maker not the easiest to operate. OK location. Difficult to find taxi but ready access to Metro. Not the most helpful concierge.
We had a very good stay in the Swissothel non!
The room design was amazing. .
The bed linens. The layout and views from the room. the pool and spa rooms. the breakfast. The pool was very long but narrow so that no more than 3 or 4 people could swim at one time.
The Spa was perfect and well kept.Good flexibility in leaving room time. Good value for the Money. Overall carpet in room very old and dirty.
the staff speak english and are very helpfull. the rooms are always clean and the location is perfect. spa is very expensive and is ten times what you get for the same service a few steps outside the hotel.
The Hotel is comfortable and clean. Very near the subway (Line 2) and easy to move around. The Counter Manager (Andrew) is very helpful in providing us with very clear instructions on how to move around the subway and to the places we wanted to go. The chambermaids were very thorough with their work and were curtious when they met us.
In general the hotel is well located, clean and for the time period in question (Shanghai Worl Expo), reasonably priced. Tricky as to breakfast coupon issued to guest. Assuming that breakfast is included (as I did) and if you used the coupon, hotel will charge you 170 RMB (about US$25 each) rather than the US$12 indicated by Booking.com. Front desk staff (one named "Fofanny") was rude and uncooperative and matter only get resolved thanks to Front Office Manager, Mr. Lance Mou.
The peace and tranquillity when you stepped away from the busy street into the front courtyard of the hotel.Loved the seating area in our room and the fact that wi-fi was readily available.I used this for my ipod touch. No access to a computer-my husband would have found it useful. We would like to have been there when the new eating facility was in operation.(we knew that there was to be no dining available so this is not a complaint just think that it will be great when there is)
nicely designed. out of ordinary. nice touch of details (DVDs, yoga mat, ipod speakers.) shower and tub design are not practical. rain shower does flood the bathroom. better drainage is important. tub is a bit too large to fill. toileteries are lacking. usually boutique hotels have very nice toileries.
This is good for longterm stay. Not best fit for short biz trip like my case..
I can't say enough good things about this place: I got a suite with kitchen, living room and bedroom for 80 bucks a night. The staff were fantastic, always friendly and responsive. Fast internet (ADSL line), huge bath-tub, big flat screen TV with DVD player, fully equipped kitchen. And the location is on a quiet side-street very close to the Jing An temple and Jiu Guang Dept store. Perfect for me.
Very convenient position, adjacent to Jing An Temple and metro station. Comfortable well-equipped apartment. Very helpful English-speaking staff. Altogether, excellent place to stay in Shanghai and good value for money No adverse comment
The location is good and metro is just 200 meters from the hotel. There are a lot of shops around the hotel so it is very convenient~~ no wifi
The location was great and the apartment really felt like you were living in Shanghai. Also the staff was super friendly and helpful. The floors were a little dirty. They could improve the cleaning a little bit. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't spotless either.
The fridge and small kitchen.
Great location Roaches
The location is excellent, the facilities more than adequate and I even had a nice view. However, as noted by others, finding the place may be difficult if you're new to China. The number on the building on Wulumuqi Road is 207, and number 199 (where the entrance is) is actually around the corner on a little street called Yuyuan. Reception is on the 16th floor in Room 1601.
Very centrally located. Subway station 200 mtrs, with 2 lines. Pizza Hut and Subway Sandwich 200 mtrs away. Freindly staff knowing good english. Reception on 16th floor. difficult to find. No bell boy service.
The hotel is well located. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very helpful. The staff is very helpful but can't provide information about tourists attractions, however they will help you if you ask them about specific places. No breakfast.
