Staff friendly and efficient, good location
The hotel was idealy located for exploring the centre of Rennes. Underground car park was very convenient. Gardens within the quadrangle provided a pleasant view from the room. Breakfast - restaurant staff were pleasant and helpful. Free wi fi great! The hotel was in reasonable decorative order, but needs refreshed now, to reflect the room cost. Our room had plenty of space, but the bathroom was set up for disabled and less comfortable than normal. Some reception staff were not pleasant or as helpful as you would expect. The car parking charges came as a surprise at check out - this should not be an additional charge. at the very least, they should be made clearer on the website and at the hotel when checking in.
Central, but quiet location Bar was closed because of holidays. Our room wasn't cleaned until after 2pm on more than one occassion.
city central no elevator in entrance
Safe location, close to transport links, restaurants and shops, room is clean and quite big. No complaints
Great location and really comfortable rooms. Free soft drinks and WiFi were a bonus. Plenty of places within walking distance to eat at. Wonderful city to walk around and soak up the atmosphere
Good room, comfortable bed, quiet location, proximity to shops, restaurants, airport, trains and buses. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. none
Excellent Breakfast Situation Noisy heating system throughout the night
The room was comfortable, the parking was convenient. The breakfast was nice. Getting good directions to certain restaurants was difficult. We found the map provided was either to small or inaccurate to follow on two occasions.
the hotel is at the city center, close to everything free access to the web
Incredibly noisy with rooms so small it was not possible to have ttwo open suitcases. Cleaning was terrible, stained sheets with hair on the pillows is not nice
The staff were extremely friendly, the bed very comfortable and we thought the hotel was good value. We also liked the decor of the room and the central location of the hotel. The lift was very small so we took the stairs, quite a hike to the 4th floor! Our tap was broken and there was only one sachet of shower gel. the toilet took ages to fill up after you'd flushed it so you had to wait 1hour to use again after one person had used it. It was quite noisy on the Saturday night.
Great central location. Interior decor, bathroom layout with wc seperate, comfortable bed. Bedroom floor very uneven, a trait of old some old French buildings.
The employee at the front desk was very polite, she was sympathetic but with no authority My room was so small that it only fitted 1 bed 1 bedside table a small console and a chair. There was no closet to put my personal belongings (left them in my small bag (the big one had to be stored elsewhere) and was provided with 2 hangers for my clothes in the bathroom
Friendly and help receptionist one person lift
probably best location in Rennes. very nice staff. TV. the smallest hotel room I've ever been to. And the hotel staff somehow managed to put a babycot in it. It's probably not more than 7-8 sq. m. the floors are very squeaky both in a room and bathroom. Hotel elevator should be in guinness book as the smallest in the world.
This hotel offers a range of different sized rooms and they all seem to offer comfortable and attractive facilites (I stayed as a wedding guest with lots of friends so we all compared our rooms!). All the reception staff were really helpful and friendly. The lift is very small, not so unusual in a French appartment block but maybe not expected in a hotel. But no a problem unless you hate climbing stairs and have a lift phobia.
It was in a great location, very close to all shops, bars and restaurants the lift only fits one person at a time
Fantastic Hotel - very stylish, lovely staff, great breakfast, really comfy bed. Loved it.
We loved the proximity.. Right downtown in the people/plaza square. Parked the car rental, felt secure and walked till all hours. as we were facing the square, the all night noise... would ask for a back room
The hotel was centrally located and the secure parking provided (at a small fee) was a plus. We had originally booked a double room but when we arrived only a twin room was available.
We were happy with our rooms opening to the garden, but we missed the windows very much. Our friends living on the first floor missed the windows even more... It was funny (if not ridiculous) we had to drive so much to get into the parking lot of the hotel not more than 100 m away!
I like the extra blankets The lifts were too small. No lighting from the lift to rooms at night. The bathtub water drainage was poor, clogged and took a painfully long time to drain.
The hotel was in a quiet location. Good value for money. Overall a satisfactory stay. The walls were thin. The rooms were average - small and basic decor. A little tired. But some renovations were started during our stay.
The staff were very friendly & helpful. We got two rooms interconnecting for a family room which was great with two small children.
very old and shabby; nice pictures don't correspond to the poor reality
We stayed in 2 rooms. The first, room 315 was very poor and stank of cigarettes. The next, 530 was better, but Hotel de Lices cannot compare to the other hotel we stayed in (because of the disappointment of room 315) Hotel Nemours, which was far superior as far as comfort and style went and cheaper too. Unfortunately they did not have a room available on our last night though. The decor in both rooms we stayed in was poor, though the bathroom was fine and the shower good and the sound proofing was excellent externally. Internally the sound proofing was very poor.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, whilst the room was clean, comfortable and a good size. If you are carrying a lot of luggage, it can be a problem that you have to take the stairs to the first floor to catch the lift.
Excellent location, nice rooms with balcony, nice staff The cleaning could be improved
Good location, clean with good facilities.
I enjoyed its location in a great city When I arrived the booking thro 'hotel booking.com' was not registered, but fortunately they had a spare room. What went wrong?
great location friendly helpful staff giving excellent advice
We were in Rennes for the Saturday market which is just outside the door of the hotel, so the location was great.
Freindly and helpful staff
Great location with a very good and helpful staff. In the midst of a very vibrant neighborhood that has plenty of food, drink, and shopping. I would stay here again as it was a great value. The location could be a bit better described. Expected to be able to drive up to the hotel, but the public garage is located a short distance away. Following the NAV, we ended up driving in circles until we called the desk and they helped us.
The location of the hotel was great. It was old fashioned but good
Great location, adequate room, and very helpful staff. The lift begins one flight up from checkin, so you have to schlep bags up stairs. The center of Rennes can be difficult to navigate, and a GPS does not know about blocked-off streets.
Its location. We were lucky as we had a twin room and therefore had a large room. Seeing the other rooms I would not like to stay there as they appeared far too small and cramped.
Friendy staff. good central position, etcc
Great central location with parking. The bar area was quite small, but there was a great bar/restaurant right next door.
Very kind hotel staffs when I had a car trouble. Close to city centre.
Well positioned Hotel for viewing and visting local attractions, new Hotel with modern feel and good facilities. Car parking charged.
the service at the friont desk was very good Room size is on the low side
position room was smaller than I anticipated
The shower was good. The room was the same size of a double bed. I think is a 2 star hotel, like Ibis or Fórmula 1. Rennes is not like Paris, it should have a big room.
Location of the hotel, nice staff, nice building. The internet is very very expensive, about 15 euros for 24 hours.
The staff were very helpful across all times & days especially as I could not speak any French.
The price for breakfast
great location paper cups therefore difficult to make drinks
Friendly staff, excellent location in the centre of Rennes.
Clean room, big room, nice staff, right in the centre of the city: everything is close (trainstation, shops, historical centre)
Breakfast, staff, free wireless, location The reception is closed at lunch (14h/15h) and all night (past 23h00).
Absolutely central location with perfect transport connections. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bathroom is beautiful and newly renovated. While the bathroom is perfect, the room itself shows considerable wear and probably needs more care (replacing lightbulbs burned out, refilling empty soap dispenser, etc.) The room is plain, there is paractically no place to pack. There is a huge difference between frontside and backside rooms (not really detailed on booking.com) a backside room offers a view to a depressive small yard where an industrial size 4-fan air conditioner of the nearby fast food restaurant is installed giving permanent noise night and day. Frontside rooms offer a beautiful panorama view.
