Rooftop pool and central location excellent; staff extremely helpful. Manager Joe Cecala great.
The lobby bar is not romantic.
Location!! Room was clean and staff nice.
We had and adult and child friend in the city we were visiting. We didn't use the pool until one day we wanted to have them join us. We were told that they would be $75 a person to swim. I thought that was outrageous since we hadn't used the pool yet and I'm quite sure not everyone staying in the hotel takes advantage of the pool. We decided to go to their building which had a much better facility 44 floors up on the park to swim. We weren't charged a thing to use for the day. I understand a charge of some sort but $75 for 1 adult and $75 for 1 child is ridiculous. I also can't speak to the food in the hotel because we always ate other places, but we found that everything else with our stay was more than adequate.
The late checkout and location
Room could be more updated and the walls were thin
Location was great.
Old building that needs updated infrastructure
The room was soothing and nice, and had everything I needed. I enjoyed hanging out and resting in my room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom, especially for NYC, was a generous size and had great water pressure. Was great to have a REAL gym in the building with a knowledgeable owner so I could keep up with my fitness routine. The staff were pleasant.
Doesn't make the greatest first impression visually The lobby, bar and restaurant are dated and feel very 1980s - kind of run down looking - which made me want to turn around and find somewhere else to stay. But the hotel got good reviews, so I decided to stay. I'm glad I did because the room and the gym made this stay extremely pleasant.
Got to pre-check-in with Kayak and requested a room with a view, single bed, and 12pm check-in. Didn't get the 12pm check-in, but instead got a room on the top floor and a great view of the NYC skyline. Really easy to get to Columbus Circle and any other stops, close to the Hudson, Central Park, and Times Square. There are tons of places to eat along 7th and 8th and the staff was pretty friendly.
Had some problems with the room keys not working, but not a big issue. Bathroom lock worked half of the time and the toilet reminded me of something from a public bathroom than a personal toilet. The bed was only made - the sheets were never changed (usually in the places I've stayed in, the sheets are changed).
The hotel is in a great location, close to the subway and Times Square, the beds and pillows were comfortable.
The facilities are run down, the toilet took forever to flush and the bathroom lock didn't work. The gym was very deficient.
This hotel had the biggest rooms I have ever stayed in in NYC. It was clean, but everything was dated and not very welcoming. The staff was very helpful and nice. It would be a great place to stay for a family,
Dated decor Bar was not inviting Food was not good
Very convenient to everything. I was seeing a show at Carnegie Hall, which was only three blocks away. The staff were helpful and friendly, and everything was easy.
You just cannot beat the value for the money. I've stayed in New York many times and the size of the room along with the price is phenomenal. The room is large and the shower stays hot and is a decent size. I would definitely stay here again.
The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were especially large, but that is just my preference.
Spacious room, friendly staff, location & furniture.
Parking is still costy even after the discoun but it is manhatten problem more than the hotel.
I paid just over $100 on Kayak and for that for a room in New York that isn't a jail cell with bedbugs is pretty amazing. The room was nicely decorated and spacious and a great tv, bed comfortable. The steam heat totally ignored the thermostat, so after basking in probably 82 degrees or so we turned it off, opened the windows and sweated a bit. I told front desk the next day and the response sounded a buit like they'd heard that before. But who cares? Maybe the price isn't always as great but it's close to Columbus Circle, Lincoln center, and off the charts for value for what I paid! I have friends in NYC paying more than that for their apartments!
Overpsyched tropical heat.
The elevators are too small and were always overcrowded. At one point I waited 15 mintues on the 10th floor, after which I gave up and took the stairs only to find the exit closed. Very frustrating.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
I hold was put on my credit card for almost a month. She have been told before I booked the room. Plus it was twice the amount. The only hotel that has ever done that to me.
I was in the city to shop and see a show. As I was not going to spend a lot of time in the hotel room, I selected this hotel for the location and price. The hotel is definitely a bit tired, but a refurbishment would result in a price increase. All in all, it was a good deal. -Hotel was clean as was bedroom and bath. -Staff was pleasant and helpful. -The bed quality was a definite plus. I have stayed at higher star rated/more expensive hotels that had horrible beds. -Free internet/HBO.
The walls were very thin and you could hear everything in the hallway and adjacent rooms.
Location was perfect for Central Park, Hell's Kitchen, Broadway and Times Square
Hallways were a bit dated
The room was fine and clean.
The common areas were tired and in need of repair. That includes the hallways, the elevator areas.
The location was excellent
The room was old and smells weird
- Location is good, pretty close to Midtown - Pricewise it is not a bad deal either
- Internet in the room is horrible, I couldn't get any work done - Staff is unfriendly and not helpful at all. They made me feel like I owed them something
