Prós: I had a great experience here. The staff was very pleasant and were very patient with my lack of spanish dialect. I will stay here again on my next visit
Contras: Very close to the festival area. Can be a annoying.
I would definitely stay here again-keeping in mind there is no a/c and the next door streets are a little ghetto.
Prós: Loved the friendly staff/delicious fruit and coffee/public relaxing hut/clean room and balcony/ambiance
Contras: only that there was no a/c
Prós: The Spa experience is a good take away for us.
Contras: Inaccurate information given from tour guides to push their products.
Our servers were horrible at best. Seems there need to be some training to demonstrate that all customers should be treated equally. We observed on multiple occassions how we were treated differently in comparison to other guest.
There won't be a repeat for us to Dreams La Romana.
Prós: Birds and nature if they were any.
Contras: Noisy and breakfast was the same. Maybe should change theme of breakfast
Prós: This resort was wonderful. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and huge! It took 5 minutes to walk the stretch from one end of the resort to the other. The food was top-notch - we tried 4 of the 7 restaurants while we were there and all the food we got was delicious! Tip - ask for recommendations - some of the plated meals at the restaurants were better than others, and the wait staff were able to easily point you in the right direction. Also, my husband is a big guy and learned that he could order 2 appetizers if he wanted to, which made him very happy. We did end up with the preferred package, which actually offered a lot of perks. We had our own private pool (with pool bar), our own private area on the beach, and a 'clubhouse' that we could go to for appetizers and drinks. We were there during march madness, and the clubhouse was extra nice because we could go there and get a prime couch spot to watch a couple of games. The bartender in the preferred club was also very good - he remembered my husband and my dad (we also travelled with my parents) and came and asked them if they wanted the same drinks each time we walked in. Speaking of bartenders, they were all very good - they made delicious drinks (try the drink of the day), were willing to customize them, and knew a wide variety of drinks (we ordered Caipirinhas and every bartender knew how to make them). Overall, this resort was wonderful, and we had a really great stay.
Contras: This resort was very large, which didn't bother us (more food, pool, and beach options), but could be a downside for some. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the number of people they let into the resort to sell you things. At other all-inclusives I've been at, they limit the sales function to the lobby, and at Dreams, there were people by the pool and on the beach walking around to try to get you to go on excursions. They were not overly pushy, so it wasn't a huge inconvenience. There is also an office in the resort where they try to sell you timeshares. One of the staff in the lobby tried to get us reeled in, but was willing to let us walk away (she was a little bit more pushy than the others who were selling things, but we only heard from her once - she didn't come up to us again after we walked away). Again, it's not the end of the world to say no and walk away from anyone trying to sell you something on vacation - it just may be a bigger deal to some people than to others.
Prós: Customer service was excellent. The staff was trained to accommodate any requests. Also the food was excellent and the selection of food was extensive.
Contras: At times vendors trying to sell time shares, excursions, etc. were a little intrusive, but probably not outside the limits when compared to other resorts.
Prós: The garden, the animation, the beach, the restaurant
Prós: atmosphir ,food was good ,staff were excelent....
Contras: needs bathrooms next to the bar and the pool area
Prós: Great location by the beach.
Contras: Staff were slow at service.
Prós: great food. The restaurant where nice, and serve good meal.m The room was really nice and comfortable (i asked for an upgrade)
Contras: the staff is not well inform about the hotel. They dont know nothing... you ask something and nobody can answerd you.
Prós: The staff was excellent, food was good, I was given what I asked for which were closest rooms to pool area. The beach was outstanding, clear waters.
Contras: I had a problem at one of the stores, I bought a ceramic which was that bad quality that it broke up 10 minutes after bought at other store just by placing the bag on counter, I took it back to ask for a change I had a negative impression from Ingris. I discused it at lobby but I was clear, I had had a wonderfull time at hotel and great service for the money I felt I end up owing to the hotel and I would not make a problem out of it , I just wanted them to know.
Prós: Staff in non managerial positions are excellent. They really make an effort and Bahia Principe should acknowledge this.
Head chef (Spanish) is brilliant
Contras: Alcohol is cheap and bottles of premium are refilled with cheaper brands.
Management staff medicore
Animation is poor although staff do their best.
They have a time share sales house which is really absorbing and can ruin a holiday
Prós: The Spa is great and Inmaculada, one of the massage therapists, is the best!
Contras: The quality of service from the staff was poor for a hotel that claims to be 5 Stars. It is not a 5 Star hotel, it is a 3 Star hotel. However, I do give credit to the few staff members that are truly dedicated and helpful. Also the drinks were awful, and the beach/pool were dirty. We were told that when the river joins with the sea, it makes the beach dirty. So depends what time of year you visit. You may encounter a dirty beach.
Prós: All the staff members were super friendly and helpful!! Shout out to Hector at the pool bar!! He always hooked you up with your drinks!!!
Contras: There was nothing I didn't like, exception to the a/c in our room was kinda of noisy and i think needed maintenance. But it still did its job of cooling off the room!! Bahia Principe is an exceptional resort!! Would definitely recommend this to others and can't wait to go back!!
Prós: The staff at the restaurants were very accommodating especially at the Olas resturant as were housekeeping, and bell hops. The location was beautiful regardless of the Rainy days. Massages at the spa where excellent as well.
Contras: Our first day there we had to wait 30 minutes for our room , 20 minutes for luggage and an hour for a towel. Throughout the remainder of the trip towels were very scarce for us, however for patrons with a different color wristband Towels were available.
Prós: Gorgeous setting and grounds. Beautiful beach and spectacular pool. Large rooms, well appointed. Prompt and courteous service.
Contras: The food is mostly hodge-podge and gave me and my wife diarrhea. The beach is beautiful, but the water is so turbid you cannot see your hand a few inches below the surface.
Prós: Once you get in, the entrance is GORGEOUS! Everywhere you look makes you feel like you're in the middle of paradise surrounded by palm trees and beautiful flowers. The buffet is okay. Not all of their food is properly heated so expect to eat warm or sometimes even cold food... But, it tastes good. I did experience awful abdominal pain accompanied with diarrhea the first day after eating lunch there. It lasted about 6 hours and I was fine after that. My husband had mild pain towards the end but nothing serious. The Gourmet restaurant was my FAVORITE out of all of the a la carte restaurants. If you want to eat something different and fast, book at the Takara and/or Italian restaurants. They both also offer a buffet on top of their a la carte. Perfect when you do not want to miss their entertainment! Their entertainment at 930pm is OUTSTANDING! From magic shows, the a Lion King play, to a Michael Jackson tribute, to even a CIRCUS... Whatever you do, DO NOT miss them, they are all fantastic. The drinks are pretty good, but do not expect premium/imported drinks unless you pay. That being said, try their coco loco, banana mama, pina colada and mamajuana drinks. They are superb! The staff is very friendly, and they hang out at their hotel when they are off. Weird at first seeing the hotel manager with shorts having a drink, but we didn't mind it.
Contras: It is far... About 45 mins/an hour from both Santo Domingo and La Romana airports. That translates to expensive taxi drives (about $70-$80 each way). Try to plan your ride in advance or you might be waiting and get frustrated. The company Dominican Quest was the best I found by FAR! Best price and best service. They even wait with a sign with your name on it, and provide a courtesy call on your way to your destination. They take up to 6 people for the same price. You will be paying that if not more for a taxi from the hotel, you simply cannot beat it. There are NO shops or ANYTHING next to the hotel for miles and miles and miles... You get the point. If you want to go somewhere, it HAS to be by taxi or with a tour. Do NOT drive or plan on renting a car unless you are a local with experience. Seriously, just don't. People drive crazy, there are motorcycles everwhere, and noone seems to follow any traffic rules. You still want to rent a car? Get their maximum insurance and bring some cash with you.
Some tourists are inconsiderate, leaving cups and straws all over the pool (gross)! They don't seem to have a staff person cleaning the pool during the day, though I will say it was all clean by morning. The beach is not that pretty clear water you are expecting, not because it is dirty, but because there's a river next to it. But because of that you are getting this 4 star hotel at less than $100 per night. Want to see clear water? Do an excursion to Isla Saona. You will not regret it. Don't care much for water and rather have adventure? Their Safari tour is the best one my husband and I have encountered. There was one day we didn't have hot water in our room, but after a call to their concierge service and a few hours later, it was fixed. Also people with kids, beware of staff members selling illegal drugs! The one stand offering henna tattoos by the pool to be specific. The gentleman approached my husband and promised to be discrete. That being said, I didn't see ANYONE using or at any point smelled weed, etc. Just be careful. Lastly, stay away from their Club Priviledge team. They will offer you a gift to listen about their timeshare and might even give you a pitty "I need points for my family" story. If you have at least two hours to kill and are interested in their vacation plan (for GODS SAKE READ all documents line by line, ASK QUESTIONS, and DO NOT trust all you hear or you will be stuck in a 30 year contract) then ask if they can give you a credit towards a tour. At first they will offer you a Dominican package option with rum, coffee and cigars; or a Club option with towel, bag and hats. After not showing interest, we lucked out and got an $80 voucher towards any tour. For 2 hours of our time, it was well worth it. They will say 60 mins or more, trust me... It's closer to two hours. And if you happened to sign their contract and are reading this, please call their club and RCI to find out if all the information you were given is true.

Prós: The best beach.
Viva restaurant and the Mexican are the best.
Contras: Hotel for smokers.
I had to visit my pulmonologist doctor.
I spend most of the time in my room, because the smokers.
Smokers on the beach, in the pool, inside the beach and the pool, smokers everywhere.
2. Eat fast or Glenys will take you off to the Buffet.
3. If you need a Towel in the pool avoid the Young guy light skin with yellow eyes, he is really rude.
4. We had a flood situation in our room and blackout at the middle of the night but Alessandro helped us.
Prós: Being on the beach .
Contras: overpriced for the food and service . Our special valentines dinner which cost extra got ruined by their poor service and there was no compensation. The people who book excursions just want to sign you up with some kind of activity and forget to tell you details . Most importantly poor English so lack of communication
Prós: It was a great stay. Employees were very nice and carring. I liked all the activities they had. It was perfect for what we went to do.
Contras: They at least need to have a faster accesss to internet in the lobby. Wifi was useless.
Contras: We didn't like receiving a call on our way to the resort and being told that there was a mistake and that there were no rooms available because they were sold out. This was on our way to the place so we had to head back home. This after my card had been charged and the booking confirmed, now I have to wait up to a week to receive my refund. This is totally unacceptable in my book.
Cabana Elke oferece traslado ida/volta do aeroporto (disponível 24 horas).
Prós: friendly staff. main buffet food was good (except the fruit). I would recommend the hotel if it were cleaner and drinks were better.
Contras: I booked an all inclusive deluxe room with pool view...there was no view! ROOM was dirty overall:curtains had mildew on it, decorative pillows were also smelly, decorative ottoman was very nasty. The inclusive drinks were HORRID! I had to drink beer.
The food, while not unpleasant, was not as good as other nearby resorts of similar price. The limited menu and lack of dining options (many restaurants were closed during the week) made our dining experience lackluster. Wait-staff tended to focus on larger groups or those who were obviously European, making wait times quite long for basic beverages like water and soft drinks - we usually ended up getting our own drinks. Breakfast juices were on the warm side, and sodas often flat. The nightly shows were not very good, but the after party near the central bar was very lively. In general, the bar staff was pleasant as were the room maids. This was our first trip to a Be Live resort and we will not be returning to this particular resort. There are other nearby resorts we have visited that were markedly better and similarly priced such as the Wyndham Dominicus properties also in Bayahibe.
Prós: We enjoyed the public spaces best, particularly the pool and the central bar.
Contras: We paid for a room upgrade and were thoroughly disappointed. Our room actually seemed smaller and with less amenities than the room a couple traveling with us had who did not purchase the upgrade. Room also had mold, standing rain water, and a bad smell.
