View from the room is great! Close to the town with restaraunts, but at the same time the place is more tranquil and quite than hotels in the centre. Parking is available. Parking is rather small. In general, the hotel is a little overpriced, though still very comfortable.
Great location, handy to have parking too. Rooms v comfortable and clean The fruit salad at the breakfast buffet wasn't fresh fruit. It was from a tin. Otherwise breakfast was nice
Hotel staff, especially reception, were extremely helpful. The cleaners timed the cleaning well, coming in when we were at breakfast and when we returned, our room was spotless. The hotel is a lovely relaxing place to enjoy with a wonderful view and a great location right next to the lake. We enjoyed every minute of it and have recommended it to everyone back at home. The only thing we would comment on is the selection of food at breakfast. Even though the cereal was lovely, there wasnt much of a variety of hot food. This wasnt something we disliked, just a suggestion to put more of a variety out at breakfast. The evening meals were lovely.
The location to Lake Garda and the relaxed atmosphere of the Hotel also parking available
Location excellent, quiet hotell near beach. Typical summerhotell. Weather made it impossible to use pool and terrazze!! - but that was not the fault of the staff!! However: maybe some of them could be better in english so they could give more info about what was going on - got info from family at home about the wine festival
Staff very friendly, good english at reception area, rooms very nice and very clean, Selection for breakfast very good also. Selection available for dinner was very limited and did not like it, also snack by poolside very limited.
a very welcomming comfortable hotel with excellent staff access onto a busy road and steepness of access
It was lovely and warm - noticeable as it was very cold outside. All the staff were friendly.
Staff very educated and willing to help. Very good location. Parking quite tight.
My wife and I loved staying at your hotel. In fact it was one of the highlights of our overseas trip. It was modern, very well situated with views of beautiful lake Garda and only a three minute walk to the town of Garda. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our computer and one of the female staff volunteered to help us. The gourmet food was very good and plentiful. I could not fault this hotel. Nothing
Comfortable compact hotel close to lake, Garda centre and ferry terminal
Location was perfect for Garda with the lake, promenade and old town just outside. Breakfast was very good, pools ( outside nice and indoor great feature ) were great for relaxing and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. We booked a superior double and were given a junior suite. We thought it was an upgrade and had to pay for the difference at checkout. It was worth the extra expense and would have preferred that the change in the room be fully explained when we checked in. A small brochure/map with the facilities would have been helpful as a first-time guest.
The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfasts were excellent and everywhere was spotless. The pool was good and overall the ambience encouraged you to relax which is what you want on holiday. Our room was a superior room and I feel did not live up to the expectations. It was plain with old fashioned furniture. The curtains had small holes in them and the Tv was not modern. For the amount charged every night for the room it should have been better. I am comparing it with rooms of a similar price in Very good London hotels.
Clean, polite well dressed staff, food, pool its huge!!,needed a english speaking doctor, the one the receptionist recommended was excellent, well done everyone
Location is perfect - away from the crowds but still close to town. The breakfast was good and the view from the restaurant was very nice. The music from the pool area was a bit too high and went on late every night.
Natural valley tree Not 24 hours service for check out!
location no openable window in the room
I liked the location of the hotel & the views of the lake. The staff were very friendly & helpful.Good breakfasts.
Location is excellent, very central. Very helpful staff.
very nice surroundings, Distance from the town of Garda, decor quite dated and dark
Very safe, family atmosphere there, also their continent breakfast time is quite stretched.. Very inconvenient to get to downtown.. free shuttle bus is not punctual, and you have to turn back to hotel before 7:30pm if you are not ready to pay a taxi.
Enjoyed a very good meal at the restaurant; Good location just away from Garda but with views of the lake It felt a little utilitarian in the public areas, but room fine; hand held shower in bath not as convenient as proper shower cubicle
Size of the room, balcony and bathroom. Nice views and quiet location. Very good breakfast buffet. Too many rooms and apartments, impersonal treatment at restaurant; we had to sit at a drafty table ,were not asked if we preferred one at the back of the restaurant. We ate à la carte, waited for an eternity to get a dessert card as we wanted to choose between the good choice on the menu card, but nobody came near our table. Later on, we were told that we had to take a dessert from the buffet, which was almost at empty at that time.
We had stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and found it very much as before but with a very much larger swimming pool (excellent). Everything about the hotel was just as good as we remembered it. Food is excellent value. Location is very convenient for the lakeside and old town and also for bus transport.
The hotel staff is friendly and the atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing. The car is easy to park in the parking building. There is a safe place to leave a bicycle. The swimming pool area is clean and relaxing.
The pool is in a beautiful setting and is a good size and has 2 jacuzzis. Very easy to get to from bus stop. The room smelled damp, the carpet was damp.Furniture was tatty and dull. Room quite small. But clean, and beds were comfortable.
The pool was much bigger than those of other hotels which we could see. There was also a more private garden area which was quieter than being next to the main pool. Also the hotel arranged transfer to Brescia airport at the end of our stay by taxi for only 6 euros each. It would have taken a lot longer and been more expensive had we tried to organise this ourselves. We found that the beds were a little uncomfortable and the walls quite thin. In the mornings we could here lots of knocks on doors as other guests were going down to breakfast. Sometimes it sounded as if our door was being knocked on but it wasn't.
good location, nice room the breakfast was horrible!
Although the decor is a little old fashioned the room was clean, the air con worked well and the staff were attentive. The pool area was excellent and free parking in secure car park. It's going to need some redecoration soon.
I really liked the swimming pool, and the surrounding area. Breakfast was good, and the staff were nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained by cleaning staff. The location was excellent. The rooms were quite small and the sytle was very old-fashioned.
Very convenient location. The rest is just basic, but satisfactory. Very small room. Blankets should be replaced immidiately (they are really outdated and they give a low cost hostel dormitory atmosphere). The lagguage space on the top of the wordrobe was extremely dusty. But if you don't big expectations, it's OK.
The hotel is very conveniently located near to the bus station, shops, restaurants and the lake front. The bedroom had all the basic facilities required and was kept very clean. The staff were generally pleasant and helpful. The swimming pool is lovely but rather a strange underground route in order to reach it. Breakfast was nice with a good selection. The bedroom balcony overlooked a municipal car park with no view. The smoke from the residents on the balcony in the next bedroom, kept wafting into our bedroom and was very unplesant. The bedrooms are very small and both the bedrooms and the public rooms are rather shabby and dull. Little fresh fruit was available at breakfast.
Staff was very helpfull with whatever we needed. Very good service. The hotel was not 200 meters from lake as advertised. Price online was the same as walk in. The hotel is quite busy and quite noisy on the weekend. It was impossible to sleep past 7am because of it on the Saturday we were there (stayed 4 nights). Nicer during the week. I also found hotels right on the lake for 40 euro ( paid 51) but did not check the rooms. I would still stay here. Good value.
A really relaxing family owned hotel of 21 bedrooms.Excellent friendly professional staff.Gardens and swimming pool area immaculate.A beautiful hotel with wonderful food at breakfast and evening meal. There was nothing I disliked about this hotel.
Excellent helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant location- really central to centre of Garda, but 10 minutes off busy road and all rooms have view over lake. Food is fantasic and you can have champange, strawberries and smoked salmon for breakfast! No
The hotel is small and hence in many ways lovely. There are not crowds of people that would make the place noisy and unpleasant. The surrounding garden with pool is a perfect fit to the building. There are beautiful views to Lake Garda as well. The building is well kept and everything technical works well. As an example; the aircon was just fine which is not always the case in Italian hotels even today. The walk to lakeside and Garda town is comfortably short. Hotel lobby levels offer well working and free of charge wlan based internet connections which are needed today by most. Lunch and dinner service I cannot comment as we ate always outside of hotel, being on the move all time. Checkout at 11am. Parking places uphill, carrying your luggage is a small physical exercise. But these complaints are meaningless compared to the benefits Villa Madrina offers.
friendliness of staff and cleanliness of hotel in general, also very central location
Excellent staff.Very good breakfast.Bright, very clean room and bathroom 10 minute walk to carpark (which is,however underground and secure)
Friendly staff You can get more for the same money
friendly, accomodating staff.Excellent breakfast selection.Cleanliness of hotel Noise from main road -but not a major issue
Location, Size, Staff
Stayed at hotel 1st week of Oct 2010.Small friendly hotel and all staff so chatty and helpful.Breakfast a feast !!! Our first time in Lake Garda and Hotel Benaco.Would definitely stay here on next visit and highly recommend hotel to friends and family. A lift would be beneficial but not a necessity.
The hotel was fantastic even though it was a 3* hotel it could easily have been 4*, location was great to get around the lake with and staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking to go to the lake!!!
Very good location, quiet at night, comfortable
Nice small (16 rooms) and inviting Hotel, very clean with daily linen & towel changes. Beautiful breakfast with very friendly staff who are also very helpful. Free air conditioning and safe in room. Flat screen TV and balcony in each room. Only across the road from the pedestrian shopping area and Lake side/Marina. Perfect location for exploring Garda and the general area. Highly recommended. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay at this Hotel so great. Would have been nice to have a swimming pool attached, but not a major problem as the lake is only 2 mins away.
Friendly staff, good value, very few guests when we stayed in October so there was no waiting for service. Convenient for the town & ferries. Attractive interior. Login system for wi-fi proved irritating to use - new 16 digit code required each day - repeated failures to accept code needed support from outside to rectify. Slightly awkward walk to the bus station with cases. Usual uninspiring Italian breakfasts with self serve coffee machine.
Relaxing around the pool, walks along the lake shore and visiting other lakeside towns in the area. N/A
We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. Also the location was excellent, only a few minutes walk to the lake.We really enjoyed our holiday and would use this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family.
Very nice hotel in a very convenient location - the town centre was a few minutes walk away and the hotel was right beside the bus station. One of the best features was the pool which was very clean and had some jacuzzi features. Rooms were adequate - clean, air conditioned but fairly small with basic furniture and probably didn't reflect the price we paid for the week as the hotel was expensive. We paid extra for a room with a balcony and a view and the balcony was very small. Overall Garda is a lovely town and we had a very relaxing week. Reception staff very friendly and organised an airport shuttle from the airport which was great. Breakfast is basic and hotel was a little noisy. Barking dog and cleaner knocking at room door at 8.30 in the morning and people using the pool below our window after the pool closing time.
the 10am checkout was a pain especially with a young family to get organised and when asked for extension was offered 15 minutes. Breakfast had to be consumed by 9.30 as the staff just remove everything. Dont stay here if you like to relaxe and sleep late
Proximity from Garda Lake. The bedroom. Too small. Too old. No style.
Excellen location. Hotel has a pool, where most hotels in Lake Garda do not. Staff were all so nice. Waiter service at the pool. Areas to dines outside. Special evening organised on Friday nights with dinner outside and live music. The pool was freezing - even in September. Economy double room - was really a twin room, and very small.
Good location and friendly staff, free parking. It could be nice to have free internet service or Wi-Fi.
Great location Food was a joke
hotel was very close to everything, the facilities were excellant and the room was brilliant. Half Board was well worth the money. the lizard that landed on my shoulder in the hotel reception ha ha
Very Friendly staff, wonderful location We were half board and we found the evening meal to have rather small portions.Free pool towels would have been a good idea instead of having to buy one for 10 euros.
Beautiful setting, room stunning, pool great, restaurant great food and friendly service. Eye for detail could be better. Emptying bins around the pool and in rooms. Cobwebs in rooms. Staff to be available near the pool for requests of drinks etc. Tourist information to be more accurate. All small matters as we had a stunning time!!!
nothing really,it was an over priced bed and brekfast, not a hotel there was nothing realy to like
Breakfast on the roof terrace, friendly and helpful staff, pool, welcome drink and leaving gift. No air conditioning in standard room, shower could have been cleaner on arrival, however this was remedied by second day.
The hotel was is in a great location about 300 metres up a hill. It's great for burning off all the extra icecreams! Or if your not feeling that energetic there is a free shuttle bus that stops right outside the hotel every 30 minutes. The terrace has a lovely view to all aspects & the pool is lovely and clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly I would definitly stay at this hotel again. it was so quiet at night and the beds are really comfy. Plus the hotel arranges airport transfer which was really helpful.
Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful. Lovely location with views across the lake.
All staff very professional and friendly. Awesome views from the hotel's terrace where breakfast is served. Rooms are spacoius and spotless.I would definately recommend this hotel at Lake Garda None at all
The staff were, as noted on another review site, quite friendly and pleasant. The gardens were nice, consisting of planted borders and olive trees Air con was off despite 30 degrees outside (eventually it was switched on). The reception area of the hotel is not too bad, but does look a bit dated. The rooms, however, were not fitting of a so-called four star hotel.
Air-conditioning was excellent and badly needed as temp. were high. Pool and garden area was spacious & clean. Pool ideally suited to those who like swimming. Good selection for buffet breakfast. Pool is great but has no shallow end. Not able to stand up in it so could be a consideration if not a good swimmer or confident in deep water. A 15min walk uphill out from centre of Garda, although there was a free shuttle bus to town from around the corner.
I was satisfield with staff, with service, with condition to rest. Not like critisism, but they really do not need to change towel every day.
Very friendly and clean hotel, nice pool area, good location.
This hotel had a lovely swimming pool and gardens. The breakfast was nice - plenty of choice and the evening meal if you wanted it was very reasonably priced for three courses when you compare it to local restaurants. No, there was nothing.
kindness, very clean, price.
Relaxing, clean, just what we wanted. No
good location, great price breakfast poor, stayed three days and heating only put on after second day.
The room was quite spacious, there was a place to park Your car and You can see the lake from Your room! Couldn't be better for this price
Everything was OK!
Accomodating and friendly family run hotel. I was on my own and everyone was really nice without being intrustive. Picked me up from bus station, and let me use facilities on day of departure, no pressure to eat in hotel if you don't want to. Leisure bikes for hire at reasonable rate. Swimming pool clean with grassy area and plenty of shade if you want it. My room & bathroom were spotless, fluffy towels, aircon effective, and having private balcony was nice. Altho room was small it was fine for one person, especially if you're out all day being a tourist! I liked being a bit out of town (10 mins fast walk), and there are restaurants/mini supermarkets on way into town. Free shuttlebus runs every half hour.
Lounging by the pool, the reliablility of the weather plus the opportunities for walking in the hills nearby. No.
bath, rest, excurtions
The location and the staff were fairly friendly. The room was very old fashioned in decor and design. It needed modernising.
nothing this hotel wants either a total revamp or demolishing
Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, lovely breakfast, very clean and comfortable.
Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Miro and Garda itself. Only 50m from lake and all the pavement cafes and bars you could wish for. Great location for visiting other areas of Lake Garda as well with easy bus links up and down the lake. Hotel itself was clean, tidy and rooms were nice and modern. Staff very friendly.
central locaion small rooms
Very good location in the centre of Garda, very clean and nicely equipped rooms, with the possibility to enter the hotel in the middle of the night (own front door key), good breakfast, nice owners. It would have been practical to have a small refrigerator in the room.
Staff, cleanlinessand situation to centre of Garda. None
The location, accomodation and in particular the personal serivce was excellant.
It is ideally located, near the Lake and all facilities. The rooms and bathrooms are nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Absolutely nothing.
The couple who run the hotel is very nice and helpful, the bedroom was very nice and the location near the lake is very pleasant. The parking lot, although a plus in that region was about 10-15 minute walk (with rain that was kind of a bother).
Close to the city center and cosy atmosphere car park but it was not really an issue.
The closeness to the lake and all amenities and the beautiful surroundings. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
