Hotel is in the center of Bergamo basso, just in front to the Xmas market
A very comfortable hotel, friendly staff were very helpful. The location was very convenient for getting to everywhere we wanted to visit. No
staff were very helpful and friendly
The hotel is very nice - the staff speaks English really well and is always ready to help. The rooms are modern and clean, the bathroom is big comparing to average European size.
Very helpful staff.
La stanza e sala da bagno molto ampie Breakfast not included, parking expensive
Its location at 30m from the Centro Congressi Giovanni XXIII. Breakfast was not at the standard we could expect for such a hotel. The croissants were not fresh (on the 2nd day I went to a coffee at 10m from the hotel and the croissants were much better), and there was little choice in the bread. And we had to queue a lot.
Very central location N/A
The Mercure Bergamo was in an excellent location on the main street. It was very quiet and the room was large with excellent facilities and a large bathroom. The staff on reception were excellent, they were helpful and made good suggestions for travelling locally and for restaurants. I would recommend this hotel for a stay as the breakfast was also good quality and varied.
it's very close to the city center and to the airport. very easy to find. paid TV programs
Very convenient for Bergamo airport, very helpful staff, smart clean room, and a very good breakfast. Avis car hire office just behind hotel. Stayed because of late arrival at airport but found Bergamo to be well worth a visit, especially the fortified 'old town'.
The staff were very helpful and informative no
dining outside for breakfast, the views on the roof of the alta, location was good
Cristallo Palace is close to Bergamo Airport as long as you don't miss the right motorway exit, and it offers free parking. Rooms are clean. Beds are good. The personnel at the reception and in the restaurant is polite and professional. Starhotels Cristallo Palace is no star hotel, neither a piece of cristall nor a palace, make no mistake. Rooms are old fashioned and rather small, the bathroom is very small (1.5m2 at most?) and you can barely move in the 50cm2 shower space with the risk of inadvertently hitting the tap and getting a cold shower or, worse, burning yourself! The quality of the breakfast could be much improved.
Clean pleasant room and friendly helpful staff Poor facilities for evening meals at weekends
Good reception staff helpfull & attentive The resturant closed for the weekend and served poor quality meals in the bar area waited on by the grumpy barman who closed the bar as soon as he could. Our wedding anniversey meal was a cold steak served on a cold plate sat in the bar.We booked a 4 star hotel to enjoy the resturant as advertised but were very upset with our night as were the other 12-16-- people who eat out on saturday.
When I missed my flight in the morning the customer service I received was phenomenal. The man servicing the front desk went out of his way to try and help find a flight.
Good location both to the airport and the city. Friendly and nice staff, specially the sicilian man in the bar. Good shuttle service to the city.Breakfast excellent. Internet connection should be free.
breakfast, comfortable beds, helpful receptionists nothing at all
Friendliness and helpfullness of the staff elevators are slighyly scary both when start and stop to move :)
The hotel was in a supreme location close to the railroad station and buses (including airport bus) making it a very good base for excursions. The city centre and the old town was in comfortable walking distance. Several restaurants were just around the corner. The hotel was very quiet so we got a good night sleep and the breakfast was nicely balanced. The staff was helpful and it was a big plus that they sold bus tickets at the hotel. The room was nice and clean and the safe for valuables was highly appreciated. We would stay there again. we had no control over air conditioning (it was warmer than usual for this time of the year) but it constituted only a minor problem.
wery good the break-fast the room to much hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the confort of the room the bad welcoming of the receptionist. It seems we were disturbing her when we arrived to do the check-in. A person very cold and without the sense of service.
The location and room comfort was very good for it's star rating. The continental buffet breakfast was fairly limited, access to a toaster would have been beneficial.
Close to trainstation Staff was not always nice and shower was bad.
Everything you would expect from a city hotel was provided, staff were pleasant and helpful, breakfast very adequate. Internet access was an additional charge but then the room rate was not too much so it would not be a barrier to returning to Piedmontese.
Efficiency on arrival. Clean rooms. Breakfast limited. All products ran out continually. Everyone having to wait for a top up of bread, drinks etc.
my room was very clean - the hotel is very handy as in front of the train/bus station the noises from the ventilator. I wasnt able to swith it off
Room was clean and modern. Staff were always helpful. Shower was new and a good size (not common in Italian hotels!) Breakfast a little disapointing compared to other Bergamo hotels I have stayed at.
Excellent location between old and new towns. Good size of room, ours was at the rear where it was nice and quiet, excelent standard of bathroom fittings, good breakfast. Overall god value for this price range.
Excellent position in centre and close to airport bus, superior 3 star accommodation with exceptional decor and furnishings. Choice of pillows including goose feather. Very good breakfast. Building works going on above (construction of additonal floor) which prevented an afternoon nap. Unavoidable, but unfortunate for me.
Excellent location for shopping and sightseeing
Very central location, very helpful and friendly staff, made our stay in Bergamo very enjoyable
Central Wifi poor in bedroom on 2nd floor
The big bed was good. the staff were pleasant There was no bar or currency change facility. Also at the time we stayed there were noises due to building work on the hotel and the main lift was not working. (small problems)
OK basic hotel. People are nice and available. The breakfast was very poor. The bread did not seem to be freshly made and there was no fresh fruit salad.
Convenient location between the station and Citta Alta. Good shopping near the hotel. A nice reaturang and good wine bar it would have been nice if the spa could be included in the hotel, or that it would have been reduced entrance fee
Comfort and courtesy Breakfast could have been more extensive
very friendly and helpful staff; quiet, clean room; tasty cofee at breakfast; excellent location at the main crossroads of the city. Wireless Internet not allways functional in my third floor room (but actually this was not guranteed); probably some minor technical upgrades could fix this issue
Nobody from the Staff speaks English fluently, Communications are therefore difficult. Got assigned a car park by the Hotel (with a large sign behind the windshield) yet still got a ticket for 74 Euros by local police. When asking at the hotel for assistance on the subject I received a shrug and the recommendation to throw the ticket away; followed by the promise that they will straighten it out with the police next week. Lets wait and see if hear from the Italian Authorities with a hefty fine in the future.
The location in town was fabulous, views of the mountains from the terrace, quirky layout, and faboulus bathroom. There was always a smell of cooking when you came in, usually fish!
Wonderful location in the old town; large lovely modern bathroom; comfort, convenience and charm. Unfortunately, at check-out, the hotel's credit card connection was 'down' and we had a last-minute raid on the cash machine. As we were told the problem had been on-going for two days, a note to us the night before might have made check-out simpler.
the location was great for city alta, right in the thick off all the action, with the best restaurants and bars within a stones throw trip advisor
the hotel was well located, had close car parking both free and paid, access to internet at no cost,a good breakfast and a good restaurant. no
L liked the location of the hotel as it was right at the heart of the old town of Bergamo. I thought the breakfast was vastly overpriced and we had a street light shining directly into our bedroom with no heavy curtains to exclude it.
Central to Citta Alta with easy access to Milan with good public transport Although it was stated there to be tea/coffee making facilities in the room, this was just a kettle with 3 tea bags, no milk or coffee. Had we known this we would have taken provisions with us.When we asked for more we were given 2 more tea bags but the gentleman was not very friendly.
Great location in lovely setting-- small hotel- nice room- with lovely bathroom. Great triple glazing when closed cannot hear church bells which are otherwise lovely to hear. If staying a few nights a fridge would be useful, and a full length mirror.
The perfect central location in the old town. The hotel is small och run by its owner. Nice and clean, good standard and comfort.
The location was perfect. Room was clean and well appointed. Price was reasonable. 10:30 check out especially when the hotel is not very busy seems early.
Hotel was better that we expected. We had 2 bedrooms apart with exit to garden. Very clean and very friendly. Easy to find as Old Bergamo is very small. Would recommend to people who want to have romantic holiday far from big cities crowd. Thank you to hotel owner Enrica. She was very very helpful.
Excellent friendly service, owner even ran us to station in morning.Lovely old house in great location.Room and bathroom spotlessly clean.Nice to have breakfast in the garden.Great value.
Location was good and ideal for sightseeing in the Citta Alta. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Good service re. airport pick up. I felt that the breakfast room was rather basic and that the bedroom could have benifited from some form of wall decorations. i.e. pictures
Close to centre of Bergamo, pleasant staff and at a reasonable cost in an expensive area. The room was clean and comfortable. Next to a main entry into the town and this could be noisy during the summer with open windows. No facility to pay by credit card was available.
I can only strongly recommend this B&B, not only for it's ideal situation in the centre of gorgeous old Bergamo, but also for the kindness of it's host, Enrica, who is trully devoted to her guest and makes everything so that everybody feels comfortable and at home. Also, the B&B is located in a very charming old house and the spacious rooms have been very nicely renovated. An ideal place to enjoy old Bergamo and italian hospitality.
It seemed expensive compared to other places we stayed in Italy.
Very appreciative of arrangements to be met at the airport. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely room. Delightful courtyard setting for breakfast.
A great location in the old city with easy access by funicular and bus to the train station. We arranged to be picked up at the airport by the owner - this was very helpful since we were arriving late in the evening. The B and B provides a very substantial breakfast.
Manager was extremely friendly, efficient, and always concerned and helpful of our wellbeing. Noisy car and truck traffic in front of the building.
Very good location. Hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.
Central for business connections.
hotel was good staff helpful. breakfast excellent
Very helpful staff, sparklingly clean room, modern design throughout.
Friendliness, modern and clean rooms, nice area and sentral location.
Great location 5 min walt to train station.Hotel staf wery friendly and helpful. Small window of the room.No bar area for relax,in the room did not have tea and coffe facilities .
Stylish comfortable and functional room bar was closed on Saturday night
The staff was more than expected, they made you feel like family. They met every need with friendly attitude. Heating system controled by front desk rather than in individual room.
Very clean and very near airport.A lovely quiet room too. no
No porter available to help with luggage, arrived with 3 children and bags in middle of the day. A porter later came and parked the car.
Location is very comfortable for sightseing and for relaxing walk. Funicular road to Citta Alta is 300 m from the door and you could enjoy the shopping in 10 min. when step out from the hotel. Restaurant was closed for wedding party, so couldn't try the meals and enjoy the view from the roof. The receiptionist was not very enthusiastic to explain how to reach the nearest place for having dinner
Convenience to ferry Food - inclusive meal very poor, not worth 15euros
The location is excellent with regards to the old city. Just about 100 metres from the funicular - super. 1.The staff on the reception were unfriendly. 2. We could NOT get into dinner in the hotel - we were NOT asked if we required a table at signing in so when we did ask you were fully booked. There are few restaurants in the vicinity and so it was a problem for the fourof us. 3.The tramps outside begging on the hotel doorstep. 4.On checking the guy with no hair took a phonecall in the middle of taking my money and from that point he was involved in a heated discussion on the phone. From that point he did not look at me , speak to me , just took my money handed back the credit card and statement without any eye contact whatsoever! 5. After staying in the Italia in Verona the staff could not do enough for us. They were superb. You ought to send the two guys on reception to the Italia for some interpersonal skill training. It might be below them but they certainly need it if you want return custom to Bergamo!
very good location, 5 minutes walking distance to get the funicular which takes you to Upper City. The room was big and we had a great view to the Upper Town. As a whole, both the hotel and the room were very clean. Brekfast was good. We would reccomend this hotel!!
Great location. Excellent choice at Breakfast and friendly service. Nice size room excellent housekeeping.
Excellent location, good service & facilities, fab. restaurant up top No nothing at all
Breakfast and taking the trip to old city Bergamo.
the staff and room was very good. the hotel position was excellent for the old city and the new city.only minute's in either direction the rooftop garden resturant was good. food was good, but exspensive for what you got on the plate
The hotel is located in a great location, easy to reach everywhere. The facilities are very modern, the staff is very helpful.
wonderful friendly staff-modern clean and tasteful nothing!
Excellent hotel with the little extra. Very friendly and nice staff. Gourmet breakfast with home made pastries etc. Very good conditions to work from the room. Best hotel I ever stayed at! Nothing could have been better.
This is a fantastic small hotel with excellent personal service. We had the upgrade suite which is not large but has superb modern fit-out. The bathroom is a stand-out with the largest shower head I have seen combined with the cool side-showers. The room also had a spa.My wife and I love hotels with opening windows, and this room has large fold-out opening doors which let lots of fresh air in. But, what really stands out with this hotel is the personal service by Uta and staff. She really went out of her way to make our stay memorable. She even took us to a local restaurant and introduced us to the owners (and the food was great). We only had a one night stay in Bergamo (a pity) but Uta helped us maximise our time. highly recommended Loved it all
perfect service, very proffesional reception, very kind and helpful
Excellent service. Beautifuly decorated design rooms, each in its own personal style. Fantastic breakfast with local product, home made youghart etc (far away from huge mass-produced breakfast's at a big hotel) in a relaxed atmosphere and nice environment.
An excellent boutique hotel. Great location, friendly helpful staff. Wonderful local cuisine. Couldn't fault it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hotel Petronilla to everyone .
Excellent Quality/Price Excellent and personal service Possibility for early breakfast Situated near city center even if in a small alley Taxi had difficulties finding, since the hotel was new.
The staff were all outstanding. We missed our flight to Italy and didn't have enough time to notify the hotel (according to the rules on booking.com) so we ended up paying ~€200 and didn't get to stay there the 1st night.
**location, ease to check in and check out, they provided parking at first come first serve and the restaurant below was very good. you pay for what you get. is this hotel top notch, no, but it does fill a need for an overnight stay or 2 nights. i can not say anything bad about it. it works on a 7/10, especially if budget is a concern than it's perfectly quaint.
The hotel staff was extremely helpful. The two people we met were Lucco and Marco. They were friendly and took time to answer questions about directions to the airport and to the old city of Bergamo and good places to eat. There were five of us traveling together. The hotel staff, including the housekeeper, all seemed eager to please us and run a successful hotel. They made our stay enjoyable. The only thing we had difficulty with pertaining to the hotel was finding our way around the city and back to the hotel again. It might be a good idea to have some printed detailed directions on the reception counter to hand out to guests showing them how to get to the old part of the city and the airport and other places of interest in Bergamo.
The price is ok in comparison to others. A strong desinfection smell at the entrance to the room. (It is however better than to have a dirty room :))
The breakfast was very nice. No.
Nice, very clean hotel, very convenient for a traveller passing from this place. The owners were very friendly and helpful giving us instuctions about anything we needed. Everything was fine.
The owner was very nice and service minded. The location was a little bit too far from city centre, but there was good communication by bus.
location Cost of taxis to and from Bergamo center and taxi to airport costs greatly misrepresented by owner
Internet free cable No wifi
The service by Marco. The new, clean and stylish rooms.
free internet in the room, cleanness, friendly hotel
Hotel staff. Location of hotel can be better
a wonderfull accommodation managed by a lovely family ... nothing to complain
Was very noisy as on corner of two streets. Expensive. No staff on premises.
Nice old building, a bit of charm. It is an old 3 bedroom apartment with ensuites. The staff were very accomodating about everything. Breakfast was nice. The shower handle wouldn't stay up, and I had to tie it with a string. It was a funny ensuite built into an old hallway. The street was noisy, but fine when the windows were closed.
We just returned from an incredible vist to Italy. One of the more memorable stays was in Bergamo, at the B&B Alba Chiara. It's a quaint/charming Bed &Breakfast in the upper city. The room was spacious as we were traveling with our two adult children. The owners are a delightful couple, Angela and Alfonso. Angela speaks excellent english and was very helpful with any questions we had, while Alfonso creates the most beautiful and delicious Italian breakfasts. The B&B is right in the middle of town overlooking a main street, with shops all around. We took Angela's recommendations for good food, and were not disappointed. One excellent recommendation was Columbina's- a modest walk from our room- the food and service were outstanding. We ate on the patio overlooking the city lights of the lower city. We highly recommend B&B Alba, and will stay the next time we visit Bergamo.
What a kindness! The owner and his wife were very very friendly! Hospitality number 1. Pleasant room and bathroom. A lovely old house but very comfortable. May be the noise of 'the evening stars' outside.
Fantastic host! Beautiful, spacious rooms and large bathroom with painted ceilings in the bedroom and lovely decor. Situated in the heart of the old village. Fabulous stay! Breakfast the best we have had on our travels! Parking is a short distance from the guesthouse but the host takes you to the location and organizes for the appropriate permit so that the parking is free.
The room was delightful with several personal touches (such as fresh flowers) and the owners were charming. The location in the centre of the old town was great.
Very cozy place to stay, with the atmosphere of a medieval inn. The staff was friendly and helpful (good coffee and comfortable transfer to the airport). P.S. Good pizza across the street :)
Wonderful little hotel with an extraordinary polite and personal service.
Very charming hosts, extremely helpful. Great location in a beautiful town. Parking difficult.
I have stayed here with my family several times because it is walking distance from family and of overall good quality. They have good size rooms and it is always low stress and comfortable. Breakfast is extensive although limited if you are diary free (like most places) but plenty of fruit is on offer. I could not get poached or fried eggs. The cooked buffet breakfast of scrambled eggs and pancetta (bacon) was tipid.
all was very good!!! staff is great!! it was our 2nd stay there and everytime everything is perfect
Friendly and very helpful staff, Accomodation and breakfast was of a very high standard. Very good value for money and would definately stay there again
situation to all amenities, excellent decor and standards , professional staff,
Staff & Location wawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww nothings
great location, nice room, good breakfast, highly recommended the bar facility
Great location, quiet room and very good breakfast. Friendly and helpfull staff Small bathroom
Excellent quality for the price and in a very good location for the sites of the city.
Good location. Lovely room. good breakfast. Friendly Staff.
Our reservation was for triple room, but our room was a double room with an extra bed which is a small bed than a single bed.We were travelling with our 10 years old son, he is a long boy and we wanted him to be conmfortable. This is why we didin't ask a double room with an extra bed but triple ROOM.Room was small for 3 person. The room was small, and autopark was 20€ per day.
Staying at the Dimora Le Nove Fate was our best experience of all times. It is definitely something special - we starred at our room for at least half an hour just to look at the brilliant design and every detail in the apartment. The staff is really very friendly, breakfast is excellent, the house is near to superb Italian restaurants and there is only 5-10 minutes driving to Bergamo. Location is very quiet. There's no single complaint about staying in this beautiful house.
This is the best place we have stayed in Italy!! It is a piece of heaven that we luckily found 3 days before going to Bergamo! The owner Rafaelle built a very beautiful house where every detail is well designed in order to make a stay different and remarkable. He drove us to a cosy and romantic typically Italian restaurant with good price and wonderful food! We certainly recommend this B&B for its quality, cleanliness, comfort, beauty, staff and price!!
Actually everything was just great. Rooms are awesome, they're all different. Small family-owned hotel, really wanderful.
The hotel is nicely located in the countryside just ten minutes from the center of Bergamo. I really liked the design of the room, it was so comfortable! Perfect for a relaxing weekend.
Clean, espresso machine, own patio to sit, friendly owners and their recommendations about restaurants for dinner, pie for breakfast. The triple room bit too small
Not really a hotel. More of a Bed & Breakfast. But clean, good rooms with bathroom and help-your-self- breakfast. Very helpful and sympathetic host. A nice place to stay when in Bergamo travelling from Bergamo airport ( Orio ). Convenientyly colse to the airport. Some noise from traffic and from the incoming planes. But not so much that it was a problem.
We were in this Hotel one night waiting for a flight. It is very close to te Bergamo/Orio al Serio airport, and it is very familiar.
We were waiting an hour for someone to open the doors!! DIY breakfast is ok, if there would be something to do it!
Famely size room. I.e. more than 1 or 2 beds in each room. Relatively low cost. Very difficoult to find; Adress not available on GPS and it does look like a hotel at all. Needs a bigger sign. A bit difficoult to understand taht you need to call a number in order to get someone to lock you inn.
There was no air conditioning and it was difficult to leave doors open at night as on ground floor although a fan was provided
Very friendly environment, breakfast in the room. No air conditioning.
From the moment we walked in I loved this place, staff were really friendly, breakfast area was great and it was new and really really clean! It was up there with one of the best place we stayed. but, then we tried to sleep- we stayed in summer and there was no air conditioner or even a fan, I had about an hour sleep the whole night- it is for that reason only that it is now up there with the worst places we stayed- when your traveling you need your sleep. And its on a main street and very noisy at night.
It was a cheap b&b, access and location not great
Arrived late without any problems. The crew did tried to help us as god as they could. Small rooms, the crew had problems with English. Poor brekfast.
Ideal base for exploring Bergamo. Very quiet room. Visit the Vesuvio resturaunt for a good meal. Parking could be a bit of a problem as the area is very busy and there is only room for a couple of cars in their underground car park
The staff were friendly and welcoming. They could also communicate easily and supplied maps etc of various sights.
The owners of Santa Caterina, a young couple with small children, made us feel extremely welcome during our brief stay. It has the feeling of a bed and breakfast where you can interact with the owners if you want and they serve you breakfast in the morning if you desire. The rooms are nicely decorated, each one in a different color scheme with hardwood floors throughout. You can tell that the owners are proud of their hotel and work hard at making their guests feel welcome. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Bergamo.
hotel room was very clean and staff very helpful and a very good breakfast excellent. n/a
We had a 1 night stay before an early morning flight from Begarmo airport. The staff at Hotel Santa Caterina, though they didn't speak alot of english, were extremely friendly & helpful. We were greeted with a big smile, the room was very clean & had all that we needed. nothing I didn't like
Very clean, friendly staff, free parking on road directly outside the hotel. Good 15/20 min walk to the old town.
Staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful, quite, well decorated and warm room. breakfast could be a bit earlier
Very helpful and nice staff, clean nice rooms with airconditioning. Some difficulties with the language, personnel spoke only few english words.
The hotel is very small and quiet. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Info on hotel facilities is a bit misleading. Hotel parking is actually public parking at front of the hotel (I did always find free places though), wi-fi connection in the room is very weak. I have requested pickup at the airport (another service advertised by the hotel) but nobody met us. This is not that important but may mislead hotel guests.
Friendly and environmentally committed owners. Comfortable and clean bedroom + bathroom. Very quiet at night. Possibility of (completely) darkening the room at night. The rooms near the reception hall can be quite noisy in the morning.
