Excellent location in Assisi with parking.
The staff was great and the dining room personell were great.
The hotel is beautifully refurbished, the staff were excellent, the aspect was utterly beautiful. It is very comfortable and clean. I loved being there. The atmosphere was very good. The cost was very good. At this time, Hotel Giotto would be my first choice when visiting Assisi. I will happily recommend it to all those I know. Had dinner one evening in the Hotel Restaurant. The food was poorly cooked, they took a ridiculously long time to serve us and to present us with the food we had ordered, even though we were the first to arrive that evening. When we complained, they tried to justify themselves, but the waiter who served us (whom we do not blame for this) was courteous and would not charge us for the meal.
Located just inside the city gate, It was convenient to drive to, in a very confusing area of Italy. It was also located very close to the Church and tomb of St. Francis. Great views, nice clean room. Excellent olive oil products in the bathroom. They have a lovely lobby with great views, personal service, and inexpensive Wi-Fi. Breakfast was second rate - I had hot chocolate with breakfast because I didn't like the coffee (to be polite). Breakfast bread was just okay.
The facilities in the room were all new and clean. They did not provide me with a parking place near the hotel. In fact this parking is not at all convenient : you need to go up the hill to reach it and then up and down the hill all around the town to leave it because there are works nearby. It is quite dangerous if you are not a mount racer. It is more convenient to use the big parking below for payment and another hotel to visit Assisi
Great central location
View from the room was fabulous. Make sure to book a room with a .valley view
I have stay at this hotel twice before and love it. The location is right inside one of the city gates and it has its own parking. The view over the Umbrian plain is gorgeous and the flights of swallows and swifts fascinating.
The view was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with good bed linen and the bathroom was nice with good towels. The TV had BBC world which was handy. There was a wonderful lounge area with comfortable leather sofas where one could relax with a book and enjoy spectacular views all around. There was one very helpful staff member on reception but unfortunately we can't remember his name but think it began with either G or J. Instead of a full a la carte menu being available we were told only two starters and two main courses were available - both of which were meat and I don't eat meat. We were not told this when we made a dinner reservation and were only told when we sat down to eat. We believe this was due to an American tour group staying at the hotel and ordinary guests took second place. It ruined our last meal in Italy. We had no bathrobes in either room and some of the little extra products were missing from one of our rooms but were in the other room. At breakfast the dining room was very very cold and the breakfast was basic. Tea and Coffee were from a machine and so you had to keep going back for another cup. A coffee pot or tea pot would be better.
Great location and view from room The breakfast was not that good .Keep it simple and good quality
Wonderful location in the heart of old Assisi with a great view over the valley from teh bedroom window.. Parking across the road from the hotel. Modern room with flat screen LCR TV. Excellent restaurant connected to the hotel. The concierge really cared about you. Enter the town through the San Franciscan Gate and finding the hotel is easy. Try it any other way and you are doomed to a frustrating time finding the place.
Location was perfect - could walk everywhere. Best thing was the parking. The room was a decent size and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable with wonderful linens. The bathroom was fine but the shower had no water pressure or volume - it was only a trickle and we had to hold the diverter the entire time.
the position of this hotel is very good. Our room with a view was wonderful.
The view was spectacular, the staff was helpful and kind. The buffet breakfast was OK, compared to the coffee+cookie style italian breakfasts.
Central location, willingness of restaurant staff to serve us dinner even though we arrived after closing time Lack of attention from reception staff. Confusion over car parking arrangements and costs.
The hotel staff were so helpful and accomodating - certainly a plus for a hotel. The rooms were a nice size, nicely decorated with very nice bathrooms. The view of the valley was beautiful. Dining was a pleasure - the breakfast was very nice, and dinner at the hotel was excellent. We would definitely like to stay again but for a longer time.
staff very attentive and helpful, the hotel is very cozy, comfortable, and the temperature inside was perfect, great breakfast, location wise was well located, a couple of blocks up from the entrance to the city.
Excellent, enthusiastic staff, good location Beds could be better.
Fabulous...great location, beautiful hotel, great staff...very friendly and helpful. I got a little hot in the middle of the night I think our ac was inadvertantly turne off...but it wasn't too bad.
Helpful staff. There was a large sign in the bedrooms with information about the room minibar. It would be replenished daily and one was requested to make a note of items consumed fom it. But.... there was no minibar. Not in either of the rooms we took.
Location, location, location. The staff was courteous, helpful, and friendly and offered the parking discount pass upon arrival. The public spaces at the hotel were stylish and clean and the room was nicely appointed. The continental breakfast was average. The carpeting in the room was dirty and you need to be a contortionist to use the bathroom; mold was starting to form in corners and crevices due to poor design and workmanship.
They go out of their way to help you in directions, buying bus tickets, getting the internet working... I didn't know how to get there as I was confuse with the bus routes
Excellent staff, happy to accommodate our needs. Couldn't fault the location. No on site parking so a substantial extra cost.
Centrally located in Assisi, Italy. Excellent value for money
The room was comfortable. The staff were nice and allowed us to use the lobby all day long back and forth from our walks until we left the town in the evening. The bathtub was very small and the bathroom had a strange smell.
The staff is very gentlemen. Breakfast.
Rooms were comfortable, spacious. Front Desk people very helpful and friendly, great location and attractive hotel. Bathrooms were small.
Great hotel in the center of Assisi, within easy walking distance of everything. Charming rooms, very prof staff.
friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, breath taking views. surpassed expectations
Great location! One minute walk to Piazza del Commune in the center of town. Beautiful rooms with views of gardens, rooftops and valley. Two lovely terraces for sunrise or sunset views.
The owners/staff, the comfort, location/views of Assisi both city and countryside. The best would summarize my experience. Nothing to complain: it was perfect
The hotel is in a good, central location in Assisi. The owners and staff were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. Breakfast was very good. The room was very tired and cramped. It did not provide value for money in comparison with other hotels that I stayed in, in the area, at this time of year.
Extremely pleasant hotel in the heart of Assisi. Friendly, helpful staff. Modern bathroom, comfortable room. The only difficulty is having to park outside of town. Even with a GPS we had difficulty finding the hotel and trying to figure out how to drive anywhere near it to drop our bags. But, once we found it, all was well.
Central location, pleasant and helpful staff.
The location in the very centre of the city.
Wonderful welcome from family who run the hotel and a beautiful view of the valley below from my room. Large sunny terrace also overlooking the valley and right in centre of Assisi.
Location was very convenient to the sights, and the staff was helpful, nice to have a nice bathroom
Perfect location, extremely kind and gracious owners & staff. Charming rooms with fantastic views of the Umbrian countryside. Couldn't be better.
no hot water in the middle of winter ... we had to call 3 times to get the hot water fixed ... the reception and main breakfast area was in another hotel across the road which was quite inconvenient ... no main lounge area in the hotel ...
very nice breakfast. no
The Staff tried hard to understand our English and our needs. Our Adult children forgot their small children sleep folding bed; the Staff figured out our needs and brought the bed; Breakfast very nice. Location good for Assisi;
best location at the center of city, very kind staff and good service
Fantastic location right in the heart of Assisi. Our room (Giotto) had excellent views. The staff were completely friendly and very helpful.
This was a really nice hotel - modern, clean, in a great location, with friendly staff nothing
Nice hotel staffs in the middle of one of the nicest cities in the world.
I loved the very friendly staff. The location was perfect to visit all the sights of Assisi. The Michelangelo room at the top of the terrace was amazing. Getting up each day to the sights of the countryside from the terrace made my holiday so special. I did not want to leave. They needed to supply an extra towel or mop as the shower was a walkthrough to the toilet and once you used the shower the floor remained wet.
The staff are very friendly and breaskfast is served inside the room so you don't have to dress up to go downstairs to have breakfast.
It was right amounst the beautiful location of Assisi in an authentic old building, but done up to a lovely modern standard. Very comfortable. The staff were lovely. They had ham & eggs with the continental breakfast supplied which was much appreciated when you are not used to eating sweet things in the morning.
Good location, staff was very personable and helpful, room and bathroom were clean. Also, I thought the hard mattresses were actually relaxing.
Excellent staff and breakfast, lovely and clean, great location No air conditioning
the choice that the staff gave me about the room because the hotel wasn't filled out so the nice reception board girl makes me a tour of the available chambers and I make a choice, of course ...the best and the most beautiful for the price that I gave for! ..with paintings on the ceiling..it was magnificient! none
I was upgraded to a double room for no extra cost
Very hot, no aircon
The hotel was in a beautiful and peaceful yet central location. The staff were charming and helpful and I would be delighted to recommend it to anyone. Fantastic value too!
Friendly and competent staff, good location.
Location is nice. Just in the historical center. Hotel stuff is really attentive. One will get some problem with a parking place near the hotel.
Great location. Good value. Excellent staff!! Very good location if you want to explore Assisi. The Interntet terminal in the lobby didn't work, and with no air conditioning, it was a little warm. But the WiFi worked and there was a fan in the room, so no real complaints.
Nice staff, perfect cleanliness, everything in excellent repair. We had to leave by 10:00 a.m. No parking. Wi-fi only downstairs.
It was in the Old Assisi and just what one would expect for a hotel. There was a beautiful viewing room on the top floor. There was also a washer and dryer available. We were also give free transportation to the train station.
excellent facilities, very helpful staff, great breakfast.
Centre of Assasi for sightseeing. Very clean and staff very helpful. Bathroom/wet room small but ok. No car park, have to use Centre car park some distance away and 10 euros a day but secure
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Room was clean. Best European Hotel I've stayed at in this price range!
Very friendly helpful staff went above and beyond to help us particularly with regards to the parking. Access difficult to unload luggage. Rooms very compact.
A very friendly welcome awaits you. This hotel is in an excellent location. Can certainly recommend it. Parking is about 10 mins walk away, which is OK, but if you want to drive your car to the hotel to drop/collect luggage it's a challenge due to the narrow streets. However, the owner was very helpful, even driving the car for us.
The owners are friendly and incredible. Mr. Vicenzo did all he could to make our stay wonderful. The location is one of the best in the city, although a little difficult to find, wich is normal in this kind of city. The breakfast doesn´t have too much variety, but it attended our needs. Very nice and clean hotel. I would definitely stay here again. It has a lot of stairs and no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage all the way up.
We appreciate very much this hotel, The localization and room were excellents. I suggest include in the website information about parking and how to arrive at hotel buy car.
Sole is a charming little hotel near the Porta Nova and the church of St. Clare. Breakfast was served in their quaint and tasteful restaurant. Generous decanter of coffee and latte (decanter of hot milk) at every breakfast and with mutual greetings of "Bonjurno" added to the pleasantness of the experience. Expect a light but nourishing meal. Excellent linnens and housekeeping. The towels were not of the usual make up but one layer and flat like a piece of linen, very well laundered and fresh but not very absorbing, more of an unusual experience than anything else.
The hotel was well located and we were able to take the bus into town and find ways to only use stops that allowed us to take our luggage downhill for both the trip into and out of town. The breakfast was not very good at all, so if there is a no breakfast option then go with that. It seemed that no one ate breakfast there, so everything was stale and the woman tended the breakfast was kind of rude. It was clearly a "budget" room, but I do not think that the price was "budget" enough. I was able to stay in nicer hotels in bigger cities for less money. It did the trick, but I would try another place if I were to go to Assisi again.
Nice personnel. Close to city center.
The location was very good, the service was good, and the combination with the spa unit worked great
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and location of this small hotel. It is at the edge of the central part of Assisi with a fantastic view of the valley. It was quiet, well run and the staff was responsive and helpful.
I liked the location of the hotel and the overall look. Great views and a private garden. The beds were not great, could use updated furniture, and a better blow dryer
Wonderful Location,Charming Room, Confortable. That i had to leave...
The location of the hotel is very convenient, nice view, comfortable room with antiqe furniture. The staff is very kind and helpful. The bathroom is rather small.
Nicely furnished in antique country style. Room came with huge private garden with view of countryside. Computer provided in room, but wireless mouse not working. Not too much of a problem as they had free wifi.
Possibly the best place I will ever stay at or wish to stay at. Absolutely spectacular views and rooms! Like a castle! We liked so much we came back for another 3 days!! Breakfast amazing! Staff fantastic throughout! Try it! Seriously nothing at all - it is a paradise!
A beautiful and private garden with view to die for.
A unique hotel experience in quiet and peaceful surroundings.
This place transports you into a different time. The rooms have a atmosphere of peace and tranquility. It is a wonderful place to find time for yourself.
This hotel is a delight. The manager, Daniel, and his staff were very helpful and extremely generous. While it is simple and small, it is charmaing and had a warmth and friendliness generally missing in larger hotels. It is located close to the Basilica of St. Francis which is the real purpose of traveling to Assisi. Having to leave so soon.
Breakfast at the Hotel is the best; lots of choices. Can request if some items can be taken out. Staff is honest, helpful, very solicitous. Location is very accessible to all places worth visiting. Everything is worthwhile, in fact the best hotel.
Hotel easy to find and well located for bus station. Close to all the places to see in Assisi.
My wife and I stayed 25th,26th SEpt '10.The courtesy and assistance from the Staff especially Danielle was excellent. An ideal location for a visit to Assisi. The restaurant Da Cecco was excellent also. We would definitely stay in Hotel Berti for our next visit
Very nice staff, they were wonderful. They also reduced my rate. Shower was too small. Wi-fi setup did not work for iPhone.
central location beautiful restoration small family-run hotel
