Good location, good facility. I think this hotel itself is very good, but compare to another hotel in this city, it is a bit expensive, cost performance is not good. The other was much better for me. If tea maker is equipped, very useful.
Perfect location within the city walls to walk around and see everything. The best Xmas store in the world is next door. Even though our room was very comfortable the room had an odd (or old)odor about it, as if the windows had never been opened.
location, sitting area, piano music with coffee, parking valet, large bathroom, view no free wifi, paying for breakfast,
It's staff and location
Everything about this hotel is very good. Could not fault it at all.
location excellent no coffee/tea service in the room
very good location
The hotel indulges you in the medieval times with its classic design, furniture and decoration, and also it matches well with the place Rothenburg. It's a very romantic place to stay.
The customer service was excellent. I had an outing planned for one day of my trip and the packed a meal for me to take with me that was wonderful. They went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The room was amazing and furnished beautifully with antiques. I highly recommend this hotel.
excellent location. breakfast was very good, service was very good did not have in room coffee and tea
Friendly staff ! It was perfect !
Excellent Retaurant food and breakfast
Very friendly staff and excellent atmodphere
How friendly and personable the staff was. They did everything to make our stay comfortable.
Dinner menu was good, including menu for children. Breakfast buffet was included and had a nice variety. Dogs are allowed (6 Euro per day) -- even big dogs like our Boxer -- in the rooms and in the restaurant. Parking was relatively inexpensive (6 Euro) per day (approx 200m walk from hotel).
Breakfast buffet was great, great location, Old world charm. Water pressure and temperature of the water during a shower was a real challenge.
It is a charming hotel in a romantic city. A welcoming staff and a good restaurant in the heart of the city. The parking lot is two blocks far from the hotel.
Location was ideal. Parking options available through the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean.
Front staff is very kindness. Comfortable big room, quiet position, great restaurant for dinner. .Safety parking at hotel garage.
Wonderful large room in center of the old town. Good breakfast and helpful staff.
Great location near center of town, had off street parking No one to help with luggage
most of the staff was very nice. The room was very clean and cozy. In a great location.
Absolutely splendid hotel, and wonderful staff. as a non smoker, would prefer if towels did not smell like cigarettes. but, still would highly recommend this hotel.
Spacious rooms, excellent location, good quality breakfast One bedroom smelt of tobacco smoke
Good for visiting the city
Location was wonderful. The hotel had a nice atmosphere and the room was cozy. The shower was a little awkward.
The location was excellent and in walking distance from everything
friendly hotel staff, good breakfest
Very friendly and welcoming hosts, helpful with suggestions. Comfortable, large room...unaware other guests staying in hotel until breakfast. Excellent location within town walls. Would recommend highly for stay in Rothenburg.
Old. but very comfortebale, disigner hotel. I like very much this place - the hotel and the city. no
This is a very charming hotel, but our favorite part was the breakfast - the best we had on our trip. No.
I loved the friendliness of the hotel staff, the hours for check-in (up to 2200), the modern spacious room, the new bathroom, the location of the hotel, close to the marketplace and the garden area. This hotel was one of the best I've stayed in. NO
The location was perfect, close to the town center and the staff was great- they spoke excellent English and were able to assist with directions. Not one thing!
Really in down town. Staff very friendly and realy life their lifes for the hotel. I would say that the breackfast could be better but was reasonable. The hotel inside and outside is marvelous... As I sad before the breakfast was ok
The atmosphere is really great My hotel room did not have a minibar.
Wonderful location in a beautiful old walled town. Great shopping in interesting venues. Lovely countryside.
It was absolutely authenic and the service and accomodations were superb.
The hotel renovations were perfect. They updated the rooms without taking away the 13th century ambiance of the building. The rooms are huge with bare wood floors. The hotel location couldnt be better.Close to the marktplatz. And if you love italian food, be sure to eat at Roma's. Be prepared to wait for a table, but the food is spectacular. The breakfast buffet is described as extensive, but it wasnt!
The hotel lobby room and dining area is lovely and very comfortable, the bathroom in our room was beautiful. The decor of previous centuries is enchanting. And the location is superb.
Very very comfortable. Extremely friendly staff.
Even though the breakfast ended at 1030, and we were late checking out, the hotel had the cook wait for us, until we checked out at 1230, and then surprised us with a delicous breakfast.. Amazing! We never expected such generous and thoughtful service. Exceeds Expectations! nothing.
The hotel was beautifully furnished. I very much liked the fact that it was converted from an old building of over 500 years old. If you look at the hotel website you can see the furnishings of each of the rooms, which are each of a different style. I stayed at the Golden Apple room which overlooked the church and the street (very quite at night as the town feels pretty much desserted after dark). The bathroom facilities were excellent. The young lady who was at the front desk was great and was extremely friendly and helpful (sorry I do not know her name), but she made it quite a great stay for us. Highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was delicious and there was a wide selection (you order from the menu). Instructions for using the internet service was not very clear. You need to get a cable from the front desk as there is no wireless. Not a problem if I had asked at first.
This is an exellant hotel offering 5 stars quality. Located in the very hard of Rothenbourg. A brand new hotel build in a 800 years of historical building. Very nicely decorated rooms. Clean and confortable. One of the best we stayed in Germany. Hope to stay there again soon.
it's a perfect compromise modern/medieval. So elegant and confortable. it's also brand new, just open a few months ago.
Both exterior and interior design is great. The hotel restaurant does not open for lunch and dinner during our stay.
Excellent rooms and antiques in the reception areas.
The children had a great time playing with the Wii and the pool table, our room was huge with fabulous views the staff were very friendly. We would have liked a shower in the bathroom.
we really enjoyed our stay and even extended it for 2 days. The staff was excellant. The location was perfect. The room was very good. The only negative -there was no wi-fy in the rooms.
The hotel was convenient to walking in the town. The kids liked the two bedroom feature. The bathroom was shared between the two rooms. If we had only booked for two people we were wondering if the bath would have been shared. There was no mention of this in the information. The hotel was undergoing some work. It was not noisy, but everything was outdated and not in an antique way.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself is very picturesque. One morning the bread was moldey and the fruit salad everyday was poor quality (canned). The rest of the meal (and stay) were just fine.
The breakfast was fresh and the view from the dining room was so worth staying here. The bed was comfortable...I have fybromyalgia, so this was important to me. The hotel is very central and while we had issues with the cleanliness of the hotel, the location was great. Parking is close by and easily attainable, and private for hotel guests. We were able to leave our car while we walked through the town after we checked out. The bathroom was awful...cramped, no proper shower, dusty and non-private...it's just a cupboard with a sliding door. The decor did not match and the color scheme was ghastly. The silk flowers on the table were old and dirty. The skirting on the bed was stained and looked old. It needs a lot of work and attention. The dining room buffet area was being renovated while we had breakfast.
If you could provide more pillows and wash clothes - it would have been perfect...
The location was perfect and we had a great view. The beds were not very comfortable, but this hotel was a great place to stay and I plan to stay there again.
Location, breakfast and view from breakfast room was fantastic. Also, the hotel staff were amazingly friendly. When the gate we needed to get through was closed and we had to find another, the manager met us in his car and had us follow him there! The only think I didn't like were the beds. They were a little hard but everything else was so fantastic that it more than made up for the beds.
The location of the hotel and the view from the room were great They were in the process of renovating the hallway
Wonderful friendly staff! Great breakfast with amazing view from dining room, unique and beautiful room, walking distance to everything, very close to Market Square, parking next to front door twin mattresses on that beautiful double bed, no shower door or curtain
The room was awesome, with a nice view. Bathroom had a nice tub. The breakfast was good and the hotel is really cozy.
The location was ideal. Remote enough to be quiet but yet right in the old town of Rothenburg and easy walking distance to everything. Very large accommodations for a family of 4 or 5 with a ping pong table for children to enjoy. Breakfast room with a beautiful view.
Wonderful hotel in ancient building, fabulous location next to best sites. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Surprisingly easy to get to once you get used to driving down narrow medieval streets. We were given a terrific room. Nothing- a highlight of our trip.
The rooms were wonderful, the staff was very helpful and the location was fantastic.
Location was magic. Breakfast looking over the wall of Rothenberg was amazing.
The silence of the room and the breakfast.
The best hotel of all romantic route. Giant room, excelent internet, excelent employees, excelent position and a beautiful garden with a soberb view. Everything magnificent. One of the best hotels.
The hotel was fantastic! It was by far the best hotel I've seen for under 300 euros a night, and the rates were far below that.
Warm and luxury hotel, feel very comfortable. Delicious breakfast.
We had an amazing view of the valley from our room. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of warmth. The breakfast was okay but not up to standards of hotels of this class that we'd stayed in before. They had only one person working in the breakfast room and although she did a pretty good job she was so busy that she probably only did half the job she could have with another person's help.
Hotel was quiet, room spacious, furnishings and location excellent. Rothenburg itself was fascinating, the people friendly, and a photographer's delight. Room temperature too hot at night. (a problem we found in other hotels also). We would have appreciated tea and coffee making facilities.
Very clean, in a great location, and overall nice. The beds though two twins pushed together we're comfortable and sheets were very clean. Very little parking! We got there about 8 at night and the parking was full (they maybe have a dozen spots in front of the hotel. You can find parking but if you get there later just know you will most likely be driving around to find a place in the street. Secondly, WIFI iSN'T COMPLIMENTARY . They have three separate plans, one hour, two Hours or 24 hours that is around 20 something euro's. Beware of it list
Wonderful room overlooking the towns medieval walls. Was given new room which was very modern and warm. We visited in November. Reception staff were polite but could have been a little friendlier and warmer I thought. But we had been staying in local Gasthaus in Germany on this trip run by friendly familys.
Great location. Easy to find. None.
THe Prinzhotel was excellent in more than one way. It is well located within the city wall, close distance to the center and one can just walk all around even at night. The staff was very nice and helpful, they were asking for me when I did not show up for breakfast till the last minute. They wanted to make sure that I do get breakfast before they close, that was very thoughtful. Also, the rooms are very cosy with nice furniture and windows you can open. I really liked this hotel and will surely return there for Christmas.
Charming hotel adjacent to the old wall. Nice view and newly decorated room. Close to all attractions but still in a quiet location. No breakfast. But there are several bakery nearby.
big room it's too expensive compares with local hotel price that we found from at information center, kinda cheated. The room is very clean, confortable with big bathroom, but no breakfirst, the view was good, and if you can accept this price, I think it's ok to stay there.
Good location. Free parking but space limited. This should be reclassified as 3 star. It does not provide dinners and breakfast was mediocre and not comparable with other 3* hotels I stayed at on my trip. Room facilities are only basic (no bathroom toiletries, no paper/pen, not even a 'do not disturb' label to hang outside door). One does not expect such rationing at a so-called 4* establishment.
the ambience of the hotel when first seeing it from the outside was great the staff were friendly the location perfect for our visit
very clean, comfortable and a friendly staff. the breakfast buffet was excellent,, too.
Three of us had 3 rooms and spent 3 nights. What's not to like about a hotel that was built in the 13th century and still includes all the modern conveniences. The rooms were spacious, clean, and in great shape. Breakfast was also great and the staff was very helpful. Thank God they wisked the car off to some parking place and returned it on command - since the town is ancient with streets that weren't built for an A6 Audi station wagon. It is right in the middle of this great town, so no need to drive or hike a long distance to see it all. The keys for the room doors are relics of another age - hard to get to work; but a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things.
It was an all around great place, except for parking in the inner city, but can easily be arranged without any issues Stay was too short
hotel sataff and the location of the hotel
Very large unique distinctive rooms.
The staff is wonderful. The location spectacular. The food 5-star. No!
The staff was excellent and the food in the restaurant was also very good. The beds are really very firm and I had a hard time sleeping comfortably.
Everything. Great staff. Great food. Great room. Great location. We will return. no
This was the best hotel of our Germany trip! Everything about it was wonderful - location, rooms, service, staff, breakfast buffet. There was nothing that wasn't just adorable about this hotel. Attention to every detail. Andrea at the front desk was great and even gave us a Schneeballen gift when we left. We would recommend this hotel in a second and return if we were to return to Rothenburg. Nothing. Everything was fantastic.
Location in the centre was excellent. Parking was limited but acceptable given the location.
Staff was amazing! Wonderful people. The food was excellent. Everything was spotless. The location was absolutely perfect. Breakfast was very nice. Bed was so hard! The room we had was of a modern design that did not fit with the design of the hotel or the idea of what we expected in Rothenburg. We expected much more for the price.
excellent facilities and staff. good condition of room.
The Hotel was great for an overnighter with a family of 4 to the beautiful city of Rothenburg. The room and the bathroom was a nice size for 4. I think we enjoyed the location and staff the most. Everyone was friendly and the Hotel was minutes away for the Markt Square, but not on a major walk way. Still trying to get used to the beds! A little hard for me.
traveling trough Breakfast
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were traveling with another couple and they put us next to each other with a shared terrace. We spent every eveing out there enjoying the quite and the wine.
This hotel was easy to get to. It had large rooms and a modern bathroom. Onsite parking was available. The ease of registration and paying. meal was not included in the price though this was minor though.
Postion and cleanliness
Very quaint hotel in a good location. Nice staff and very clean.
Very convenient to include the underground parking. The hotel is in walking distance of everything in the Altstadt. Easy to depart and get on to the Autobahn.
A very beautiful hotel that is modern, clean and yet historically preserved. Our rooms were as nice as any I have stayed in throughout Germany. There was WLAN thoughout the hotel, however it was not free as many hotels provide today. None
Location We had seperate beds. Would have been nice to have the option of a double bed.
Location was great to the center of town and to get by foot. Upset that they didn't post the fee for the dogs on the website instead of saying "charges may be applicable".
Very friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Lack of air conditioning & elevator. For all I know, this is characteristic of all hotels in this area.
The hotel is very well positioned in the heart of the town. The room was clean, spacious, well maintained and comfortable. The man who checked us in walked with me from the hotel to where I had parked my car and drove with me back to the hotel car park. The breakfast. There are plenty of bread rolls in a basket on your table but not too much else to go with it. As soon as the staff refresh the small plates of butter, cheese and cold meats, hungry, waiting guests empty them.
Helpful staff. Went out of their way to help us with parking (which is difficult at this location). Lack of elevator. Not surprising in this type of hotel and only a minor inconvenience for us.
Fantastic location in the ehart of the city. Very nice breakfast. Very accommodating with a late checkout.
good location near center.
Pleasant, quiet and spacious for a family of four. Lovely restaurant as part of the hotel
This was my second stay at this hotel. I would recommend it for the location and because it represents good value for money.
Just about everything! Extra clean and friendly hotel! Our room was outstanding. On the top floor, you have a great view! The location is right downtown old Rothenburg. Everything is in walking distance. We liked it so much, we decided to stay another night! Hard to get parking right by the hotel, but the staff will tell you where you can park for free.
The hotel room was a good size for a family of four. The staff was very helpful. The food was good at breakfast (included) and lunch.
The good food and friendly staff at the Hotel/Gasthof
The room and the decor was very charming. The breakfast was tasty and filling. The hotel was in a great location for exploring the Old Town area. Parking, internet, and dogs were free. The mattress was too hard and the double bed consisted of two single mattresses pushed together.
Owner called the night I booked the room communicating that the room I had just booked was already booked locally. The owner placed me in a b&b next door and took care of me very well. None
This hotel is amazing, it has so much character and the staff are very freindly and helpful. We started our stay here on a Wednesday. Unbeknown to us they have an English Conversation club here every Wednesday evening fron 8 till10. The locals arrive and speak onl;y English for these two hours. It made for a very interesting evening. We would thoroughly recomend it.as a place to stay. The only complaint I have is more with Booking.com than the hotle and that is that you state that the hotle accepts credit cards, when in fact they dont accept any cards for payment.
The room was spotless, the breakfast was more than satisfying and the hospitality exceptional. I would stay there again on my next visit to Vienna I enjoyed everything about my stay
the building, the atmosphere, the room in which we stayed, the location in the town, the free parking next to the hotel.
We had a wonderful stay in the Sptizweg. The location is quiet, but conveniently close to all the major sites. The hotel itself is lovely. There is free parking in the hotel courtyard which was very convenient (and included in the hotel rate.) The breakfast, also included in the rate, is wonderful and is prepared by the hotel owner, who is generous and friendly host. We will be returning to Rothenburg, which is a wonderful city to visit, and could not imagine staying anywhere else but the Spitzweg Hotel. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
Very friendly,great old building,excellent breakfast.
The owner and his wife are the most wonderful hosts immaginable. They made our stay there unforgetable. No.
A charming small hotel inside the walls of the old town with a friendly helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. I have no complaints about the hotel
Lovely hotel near the heart of the walled city of Rothenberg ob der Tauber. All buildings in this village are very old but the interior and facilities of the hotel are very nice, designed to match the old world charm of this storied village. A good breakfast was included. Owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking in the village is very limited, however they have their own parking lot in the back. They even allowed us to leave our car there for the day to stroll around after we'd checked out. We were there in October, which we enjoyed it all the more; the foggy nights and mornings just added to the overall ambience of the area We realize that internet in an ancient village such as Rothenburg is practically nonexistent, but it would have been perfect if we had internet to take care of a couple of business matters back home.
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The hotel, and city, was akin to living a fairy tale. The owner was present at breakfast, was very gracious, spoke to everyone and even helped carry my luggage to the car. Highly recommended!
The hotel itself was very quaint and oldy-worldy, with interesting objects on display throughout. The old fashioned wash stand in the bathroom was a lovely touch! (of course, there was a normal washbasin as well!) The whitehaired gentleman (presumably the owner) was extremely friendly and helpful, and made a point of going round talking to all the guests at breakfast time, helping with directions, tips, etc. Different to other hotels we stayed in, where breakfast was self serve, in this hotel we were brought dishes of meat and bread to each table so we could help ourselves without getting up. The hotel also smelt of wonderful cooking smells when we arrived and in the morning when we woke up - all hotels should smell this delicious! no shower curtain round the bath, so had to take care when showering, but not a big problem.
The hotel is located near the centre and their hospitality. No internet facilities
A family run business providing wonderful hospitality in an excellent location within the walled town.
Hotel Spitzweg is a charmer. The only thing better than the quaint, comfortable rooms (large by European standards) is the staff. This independently run hotel was a great value. I immediately decided to extend my stay by one night after checking in.
nice hotel in an interesting place; nice breakfast and friendly staff
the city, the atmosphere, no
Hotel offered a little apartment for us, with kitchen, living room and private garage. It was perfect. The breakfast was amazing.
clean, friendly service, walking distance to shops and sightseeing, beautiful views of the town, accommodating to families with children
I didn't like at all We booked a double bed and received 2 singles beds in a very little room. Room nr 5 maybe was the worst in the hotel. No value for the money ( 86 Euro) we paid
We enjoyed everything about your Hotel. We had a wonderful time. Not a thing.
The location was superb, breakfast was great, staff were helpful and having the option of smoking-free rooms. Traffic noise was very loud early in the morning (had a front facing room).
Comfort, Location, and Cleanliness. N/A
We loved this place. We had a big group with 4 adults and three young kids. The rooms were huge compared to other European hotels, very clean and comfortable hotels. Very accomodating staff. The restaruant was great, potato soup is fabulous!
Most things Curtains could have been thicker to block out the street lights
