Amazing stay at beautiful clean hotel with courteous staff! I would highly recommend this hotel!!! Next time we visit my daughter we will definitely be staying there. Place was extremely clean and staff couldn't do enough to make you happy! Haven't stayed in a place that was outstanding in cleanliness with amazing staff in years!!!
Staff was incredible
The local restaurants & night life The elevators was fairly noisy & in constant use. The shaft was behind our room. An international convention of United Nations Ambassadors at the high school level was taking place hence, the elevators were at peak use......
The bed is AMAZING. That has to be the best sleep that I have had in a very long time. The hotel is in the heart of the city and apparently does not have sound proof walls so it is very noisy all the time however they do leave ear plugs on the night stand to compensate.
The place is gorgeous! And the rooms were really nice! It's more a trend. When you get a budget room, so many amenities are included. When you splurge for some luxury, I feel like you are charged for everything. Breakfast was not included, wifi costs extra, parking was $20 per day. Elevators seemed a bit slow and there's only one of the 3 that go to the garage levels.
Convenient location , comfy beds abundant towels , great conference areas. Lacking amenities like pool and expensive parking very cold unable to change room temp
The attitude of the staff was wonderful. Above and beyond. It had a full service feel - staff only, not the facility, and certainly not the scary parking lot. It simply was not as high end as I expected. I have had two kids attend college closeby, and I always dreamed of being able to afford staying at the Omni. We decided to splurge on our last night there after checking our of a rental house in the area. I guess I built it up in my head that it would be like a Four Seasons or something really nice, but it was no better than the Marriott or the New Haven Hotel which are half the price or less. Disappointing! I was totally unimpressed with the bedding especially, it was like a flash back to the 90's!
Verry nice hotel, great location with a lot of accommodations. Don't let the price scare you, well worth it. Woke up with a back ache, bed was not as comfortable as I would have expected. Access to wifi should be included, but you have to pay extra.
The neighborhood is marginal, and with a room on the 4th floor, you get a lot of noise well into the night. Only two elevators were working for almost 20 stories, with a wedding reception going on... made for really long waits.
evryyhing was good
The wallpaper in room was peeling off, stained and moldy looking. The ceiling was stained and poorly patched.
Good for a short stay. Great location. Perfect for what we needed and at the price it was.
It was very easy access to and from the highway and downtown. Always wasn't far from the wedding we were going to. Also the free breakfast was good. The LA Quinta was not very comfortable sleeping. The parking was over crowded and the rooms could use a freshen up.
There's a shuttle available to pick you up from Union Station, which is close by but not exactly walking distance. Their staff is SUPER friendly and really have that New England-region pride of their city and the area. Their rooms are well-maintained and clean. The view toward Long Wharf/Pier and the New Haven harbour - outstanding, I really love the view of a harbourfront! There wasn't much to dislike, but important things to point out was that, upon entering the room, there was one single moth flying around - it didn't make any appearance again after the first night, so I wasn't too bothered by it. The only other oddity that I had to double-take on was the choice of toilets in the room - it was one of those industrial toilets - not that I have a problem with it, but it just wasn't the best choice (plus, the noise that can be heard from your neighbours with the same toilet makes it feel like literally being in a bathroom stall.)
It was nice and relaxing for a stay. I'd have liked a way for to connect my computer to the tv. Also wish there was a microwave.
There isn't really anything nice I have to say about my experience. The location was good. Facility in serious decline. Room should have been $79 a night not $129 for the lack of quality.
The Staff was great friendly and helpful. When I got to my room the ceiling had hair stuck to it and the bathroom sink was broken. I tried to use the fitness facility and they had no towels, no wipes and the tv was turned up very loud and there was no remote in site.
No deposit. Location is good. Free breakfast foods. Plywood sink front. Old water bottles under tv stand. sound of traffic in the room.
The staff is always very friendly The bathrooms have not been updated.
Room was clean. Kind of a rough area. People drinking in the parking lot. A lot of screaming and yelling in hallways at night.
friendly staff, quick checkin/out, clean rooms, great location AC was set to 60 deg but never got below 72-75.. and the bed wasn't overly comfortable.
Location to Yale. Clean. Expensive parking.
Location in downtown New Canaan Someone is apparently in it for the money only here, the New Haven Hotel offers no value and certainly no "caring" attitude. For that it charges too much at $ 159 per night. You get: - Good downtown location. - Clean room, good size. - Thin walls, to hear the neighbors, and everyone from the hallways. - Mattresses of dubious quality. - Breakfast, a stale buffet in a dark 2nd floor room, is an unfriendly reminder that nobody cares, and at $ 13.99 someone wants to make good money. - Self parking at the Temple Garage at $ 20 overnight, when the public rate is $ 16, no value add, just a surcharge by the hotel. Staff could have pointed out that there is a free parking on weekends around and across... - Very friendly and helpful receptionist, one person only. And Housekeeping knocking at the door at 9am on a Sunday morning makes this a bit of a bad dream in New Haven. Good luck!
A clean renovated hotel just a few blocks walk from Yale's old campus and art galleries. The breakfast buffet was inexpensive and ample and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
The room is clean, tidy with nice furniture, hdtv and comfortable mattresses. The hotel is currently under renovation. Therefore, the gym is not available, which is listed in the web site.
Front desk staff was very hospitable and friendly. When I asked for a room modification instead of acting like it was nuisance they happily looked into it and ended up accomodating. The room was clean and very comfortable. I will definitely be returning!
Everything was very clean, and the rooms are quite nicely appointed. Most of the staff was very nice, too (there was just one check-in person who I found a bit rude). No breakfast included - even of the most basic kind. It's located on a somewhat dicey street. The workout facilities were minimal. The views from the room were ugly, and a bright light from the garage comes in unless you use the full blinds.
The whole hotel had a complete overhaul, as did our room. The smell of fresh paint and carpet... Love it. The rooms were spacious, absolutely spotless, (almost) everything brand new, great big beds with lots of pillows. I couldn't understand why they would choose to have such a big renovation, obviously everything was well designed and good quality, only to leave the old shower floors in! Especially as ours was actually quite worn and grubby. The combination of old browning plastic with shiny new marble is not my idea af a design feature...
Facilities are modern and up-to-date. Very clean. Parking fees are not included in booking prices
The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable Having to pay extra for parking
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Only paper cups provided for coffee in the room. When we asked at the restaurant and front desk we were told that there were no other cups available. The housekeeper, however got us some regular cups.
People and staff were very nice while they are going thru renovation. There were college athletic teams also in the hotel that weekend..They ran up and down the halls till 3:00 am and to my knowledge no one ever asked them to hold the noise down.A constant party till about 3 or 4 am then they would all go into their rooms and go to sleep.Very annoying.
Clean rooms and lobby, courteous staff. This hotel was what you'd expect from a Courtyard. I went to see Yale with my daughter and the hotel was only convenient to the schools athletic facilities. nice area though! I didn't like paying for self- parking in an outdoor lot. There was a covered section but it was full. Once parked, I had a longish walk back to the lobby with my bags. The basic wifi is free. Hi-speed is $5.95. The basic was fine for slow-surfing the internet but to stream a movie, you might need to upgrade.
Room, itself, was nice and it was quiet. Although check-in is known to be at 3pm we arrived early from Norwalk area at 11am and then went to the front desk again ar 2pm and they never tried to be accomodating to us but just told us it was not guaranteeed until a 3pm arrival. The housekeep[ng staff should try to accomodate someone who is already at the locatiuon versus their traditional room-to-room approach. We did not get into the room until 3:15-3:30pm.When tyou pay over $200/nihgt, I'd lik ethe staff to try to be more accomodating.
I traveled with my husband and teenage son - we stayed in the 2 room loft - it was awesome space for all of us! Had a small kitchen with fridge - but most important we each had out own bathrooms. Cont breakfast was very decent. We didn't use the amenities. Easy on and off freeway which we did need. We had no views - but didn't care - that wasn't why we were staying there. Would recommend!
Room reeked of smoke, was dirty and outdated, and the unit next door held a party from 2-4 am with shouting and fighting that spilled over into the parking lot. On top of that, front desk was understaffed and slow, parking lot was crowded, and stairs to second floor unit was outside.
Spacious suite, room enough for 2 adults and 2 grown-up children; nice and relaxed atmosphere, everything we needed during this 2-nights stay!
Room very confortable, nice breakfast, ideal for family A little bit outside the city, no restaurants close by
We arrived just as the snow arrived. It was delightful to have a fireplace and space to relax with people during the storm. Loved the selection of teas available in the lobby in the afternoon and the waffles at breakfast in the morning. Would have enjoyed having an Earl Grey in the tea selection . ;>)
Pool & Dinner was included, Perfectly wheelchair suitable,
Clean, comfortable bed Noisy AC system, weird thermostat, it gets really cold then really hot, without me changing the temperature
The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the waffles. We also enjoyed the complimentary popcorn. The room was very clean and efficient, but the decor was a little "tired".
Nice room with plenty of space. Courteous and friendly staff. We didn't stay for long but it was a good stay. The room was clean and neat. I would definitely stay there again.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, completary breakfast, a home away from home. Not many night life attractions, but isn't hotels fault.
Good rate for a room with a full kitchen - Main lobby building and breakfast area was very nice with a nice outdoor patio. They accept pets. Rooms are pet friendly, but they stick you in the back corner with the other pet owners - There is also a $75 charge for pets. Some of the residents who live long term at the Village Suites were a little sketchy. New Haven town is also a little sketchy - The only nice area we found was near the old Yale campus.
Needs newer TVs
Extremely nice and helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms for very low prices. Also right off 91 so easy to get where you want to go!
comfortable bed and continental breakfast is satisfying shower floor is slippery and the heating/cooling unit needs to be upgraded
It was only 10 minutes away from my destination. They had a decent sized refrigerator in the room. The free wifi was a joke; I never successfully pulled up a website after 15 minutes. The bathtub had some worrisome cracks and the general state of the place was fairly rundown. The free breakfast? We went down at 830 am. They had runny oatmeal, 1 Apple and, yes, 1 piece of bread. There were 2 cereal options. They were out of bith sugar and cram for the coffee and when I asked if they were replishing the buffet, they looked surprised. My family had to leave and eat elsewhere. We tried to check in 2 hours early and were told it would be an extra $30 a room fee. So when we came later in the evening instead (around 9 pm), the guy at the desk was rude and said he was done for the night and wouldn't answer questions such as when is checkout? We booked about a month in advance and they didn't even put our two rooms next to each other, disappointing when you have children. All I can add, is we picked a cheaper hotel and had a place to lay out heads and that was about all.
Hair between the sheets on both beds. Bedspreads were stained and looked dirty.
Employee at desk very nice. The heat didnt work. Pillows very used uncomfortable.
The Days Inn is a nice hotel. It's on a busy street, but quick access to and from I-91 - and to downtown New Haven. The bed was comfortable. The HVAC was nice for a moderately-priced hotel. The bath and shower were good. The breakfast was very mediocre. There were few amenities with the property.
I was afraid that I was going to walk into the room and it was going to be gross. It wasn't. They had clean sheets and a cute bed spread on each bed. I was only there for one night because I was attending a wedding in the area. It was perfect for a one night stay. I don't suggest going here if you are looking for great vacation sleep. It was a bit loud. You could hear noises from outside very clearly. Thats not something Days Inn can control, just though Id mention it for anyone whom is a light sleeper.
Everything was as per the expectation. Good for the price. Staff is good and helpful as I had left my jacket there and they called me about that and I got my jacket back.
Good size room. Bed and linens were clean and firm. Only one minus, was TV did not have a remote, otherwise everything was good. Staff was super, as I was coming in late and street signs are not so good, they talked me right in to the Inn. Nice people.

It's really old and dingy, needs to be updated and cleaned. I didn't have hot water had to change my room and was locked out in the middle of the night when staff changed had to get a new key. They need more than bleach and fabuloso
Location Falling apart Filthy Noisy
Leaving Everything about it I disliked floor was dirty the door didn't lock properly it's stunk like mothballs there was dog food remnants in the room overall it's stunk and should've been condemned
The peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and the breakfast buffet were the perfect touch to begin the day refreshed. No.
this hotel has been used as a shelter for the city !!!

location first room had stains all over the floor and bed,no pool, outdated rooms(well the whole hotel)Front Desk seemed like I was an inconvenience,no tissue in rroom, old fixtures.. Just terrible
Checking out Room door didn't close properly the rug was wet the room smelled of mothballs trying to cover up the smell of the four dogs that belonged to the last tenant just by walking on the carpet with my socks turned the bottoms black stillsomedogfoodon the floor
