The Riad Ghita is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The staff were friendly attentive and helpful but without ever being intrusive. We arrived after an 8 hour trip from Marrakech but felt immediatly relaxed because of the warm welcome. We stayed in the Lalla Zineb room which was huge and beautifully decorated. The only slight issue I would mention is that you can hear a lot of noise from the street at night but that is fixed with a pair of earplugs and it generally dies down after 11pm. The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is more expensive than eating in the medina but far superior so worth doing at least once. The staff were excellent, organising trips, looking up train times and even hailing us taxis.
The location and the staff from the hotel We stayed on the third floor and we had to go up and down using the stairs
Easy to find on the edge of the Medina. Staff friendly and very helpful and organised transfers to and from the train station and also a trip to Volubilis. Had room service and the food was home cooked and the best we had during our stay in Morocco - incredible value for money too. Breakfast different each morning and also very very good. Highly recommended. This really isn't a complaint but just so people know, the riad doesn't serve alcohol and you will need to get a cab to a local supermarket if you want to purchase a bottle of wine to go with your meal. But that's only a comment - have absolutely no complaints!
Pleasant atmosphere, nice and polite personnel making the guests feeling home away from home. The riad is located in the old medina, but it is easily reachable by car. The breakfasts on the terrace with the view on the medina were quite romantic, and the dinner served in the main guest room was very delicios. WiFi was fast. Bathroom and toilet need renovation. A TV in the room is a big advantage, but there could be more programs at least in French.
Everything was very pleasant with our stay, the Riad itself is very relaxing and the staff are all extremely kind and helpful.
Some staff were very unhelpful.will never book in this hotel again.
The distance from the Golf course your descrition sais close to the golf cours it was 17 KM away
cleanliness of the room, quite good location Very unpleasant and the staff is incompetent. They could no find my reservation, wanted more money than it was on booking.com, check in took 30 minutes and on the face of the guy at the reception you will see a great reluctance to quests. Generally they are far from the level of customer service to which Europeans are accustomed. On the ground floor is a night club. This does not bother me because I sleep like a stone, but many guests complain that they could not sleep because of loud music all night. If you would like to access the internet - 4,5 Euro per 24 h.
On www.booking.com at "Activities" are indicated the followings: Solarium, Spa&Wellness, Massage. Well, the information is false. The hotel does not provide such services.
No WiFi in room, had to pay extra for garage
We had no prblems with this hotel. The staff however was not as friendly as we had expected. It was an ok hotel for the money.
the big bed there was no answer for room service. There was no phone connection in the rooms. No sattelite tv channels as expected.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully done. The location is good (close by the main avenue in the Ville Nouvelle in Fez). There are many restaurants and cafes close by. Just by room only for this hotel! Breakfast was very poor for a 4* hotel - it was just a bit better than a hostel breakfast in terms of variety (E.G. sliced cheese, yogurt, ham, fruit, etc were not available ). The quality of the products was bellow expected and products was deteriorated (E.G. melt butter). The service in the restaurant is now existing (E.G. the waiters are sited chatting while the guests need food or utensils / the tables are full of food and there is no place to sit)
The hotel was well clean, room was in excellent condition. Telephone was not working; no internet facility.
Located near the citycenter. Very simple breakfast.
Don´t go to this hotel, it´s totally crap.
Traditional arab house restored; enjoyed tradional food - adapted for vegetarians!
The staff we very helpful and the food was excellent. The location was also good Poor english was a problem as we spoke little French
The manager requested cash. when I attempted to pay by Visa, I was not able to as she said her machine would only accept pin numbers(I think a ruse)I obtained cash from an ATM ,a long haul in the heat to the ATM.
We loved Riad Dar Charifa. Its situated near the city walls, and easy accessable by taxi. Staff is very friendly, especially our friend Mouhamed. He was really great. Breakfast is also ok for Morocco style..no ham and cheese, but acceptable. It has no pool, but air condition helps the heat.Highly recommendable Riad.
Wonderfully well kept, very clean and incredibly ornate. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, organised our taxi and a guide (who was brilliant and worth the money). Location was ideal, close enough to walk into the central souk area but far away enough to be quiet and calm yet atmospheric. View from the terrace is good and a nice place for a tea and cigarrette! Would advise eating there too as the lemon tagine was awesome. Location on the booking.com website is way off - it's not very near the Riad Fez at all! Is actually just a few yards from the Bab Ziat (gate)
The cosiness of the place and the personalised service by the personnel . The decor, easy going atmosphere and welcoming attitude and service of all the people that I dealt with (from the owner Mr. Megid, to all the staff Myryem, Mohamed Ali, our excellent cook Hajiba, and the help Jamila, and last but not least Khaled our guide who was arranged for us by the hotel staff...).Unique experience.
the hotel staff was friendly. traditional house of morocco was beautiful. the map of booking.com was wrong.
The staff where very friendly & helpful - especially when I was unwell -they showed concern for me & happy to help where possible. Secure hotel with gates that needed to opened by staff. Very quiet at night, Free WIFI. Loved the inner courtyard area with big couches. Breakfast average. Taxi to medina approx 9DH. No tourist information available - maps etc.
staff speaks not good english but they were really kind and nice!! room was really ncie. i could have good arabian night. and garden was also really comfortable it was really difficult to find the hotel.
The courtyard and the common area were beautiful, while the breakfast was very nice and plentiful. The front desk girls whose English was not great came across as very helpful and friendly so we had no problem with anything that we needed. The bathroom is of decent size but the shower space is very small. When you move around in the shower, it is hard not to touch the water lever which could be very hot.
The position of the hotel: 5 minutes driving from the most interesting part of the medina. Many shops and cafe were just few steps far from the hotel. The hotel is new, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is huge ad delicious. Both forniture in the hotel and in the room is very fine. Some troubles occurred to reach the hotel at our arrival. It is better to get there with a detailed map of the area where the Hotel is located. People in the nearby don't know the position of the Hotel and give indication for Medina.
Breakfast was yummy Not the place to stay if you're trying to see the Medina, or Fez, really. If you just need a place to crash, fine.
Staff was very friendly, we had a great stay. The hotel is located near some excellent moroccon restaurants, and a 10 min taxi drive from the medina. We couldn't get the wifi to work, but there are cybercafe's close by. The airport shuttle wasn't there to pick us up, they said there was an accident. Getting to Fez from the airport by taxi was no problem.
Lovely staff and tasty breakfast Unpleasant smell coming from bathroom
Wrong info on the website: the hotel is not close to the train station. It sounds like a tricky lie. Moreover, the hotel manager is completely incompetent, sadly enough not in a Fawlty Towers style.
Comfortable, perfect, very nice riad, very good to 2-3 days stay in Fes.Nice end spacious room and the same bathroom.
we liked everything but the internet is just so bad that it takes more than 25 minuites toopen up a link and does not work atall in the rooms.
We were only given the buffet food option and would have liked to have been able to have a la carte options, rather than self-service with a coach party
The view was very charming. The restaurant was not at the level of a 5 star hotel, the service was really low and the food was not good at all.
The Hotel is very clean and well looked after. Loads of staff everywhere maintaining the upkeep of the property at all times. We thought it very well appointed if you don't want to madness of the Medina. It was a 15 minute walk into the Medina (albiet crossing a main road on the way) so you can jump into the craziness quite quickly but a 15 minute walk back and you're next to the pool on a lounger. The only thing we'd say is that the hotel is very bland. You could be anywhere in the world really. The usual touristy buffet for breakfast (but hey it's included and its not bad), dodgy night time entertainment that boarders on bad Karaoke (I could sing better), young families and older tourists with bum bags and the pricing is high compared to eating/drinking in the Medina. For what we wanted though (a quiet pool holiday with something interesting to do when we got bored) it fulfilled what we were after.
Superb location overlooking the old city of Fes, good rate, helpful staff, large comfortable room, pleasant terraces and lounges with wonderful views, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city, convenient for old city and new cities, good Moroccan restaurant. No heating although the weather was cold (mid November), problem with smell of drains in the first room offered - we had to change, breakfast/dinner in international restaurant mediocre.
Spacious hotel outside Fez. Location outside the crowded and hot medina gives the advantage above a night in a riad in tghe medina. Easy acces. The brochure promised traditional Maroc cuisine. Nothing seen of this on the menu.
due to delayed flights we were a day late the hotel changed our booking efficiently and without charge. the staff were efficient and pleasant our rooms were very luxurious overlooking the pool area will most certainly use this hotel again as we travel to Morocco often
the room was spacious, the beds were of large size, we stayed for 2nights and in the second day the hotel offered us a fruit basket which was what ae needed after tyring day spent in Fez. they have a large swimming pool 3m deep it was very nice. and the reception staff were so firendly and helpful.
The Location The hotel is really old and the rooms are not all that, I personlly didnt like it at all.
The proprieter, Reibal helped us out in every which way in Fes. The Riad is beautiful and the staff is amazing. Reibal treated us like we were family. We had some trouble with our driver and he helped us out with that as well. A most amazing experience!
They upgraded our room We asked them to arrange a pick up from the station and although the train was one hour late the person waited. We were the only people staying so felt rather empty. As it was early in the season they were not operating fully-problems with hot water, batteries in safe not working, furniture on roof terrace stacked although weather was very warm.Bill was in Diahrams although orig booking in Euros-exchange rate operated by hotel not very favourable.
So beautiful- like a palace but intimate at the same time. Very personal service Would have liked a window to the outside but this is a Riad however there was a huge skylight over the courtyard that opened.
Location, near edge of the medina, was good, though the medina may not be for everyone. Staff was very gracious. Traditional style of building, with courtyard fountain, very beautiful. Tranquil atmosphere. Free wi-fi in many parts of the building. Our "prestige suite" had no division between bed area and sitting area. Architecturally it was one long room with two sets of furniture, not a suite. Water pressure and temperature serviceable but not the greatest.
Everything. The wonderful staff, the tranquility. Everything was of a very high standard.
A secluded pool oft ranquility
It is the second time I go to Riad Fes and I have to say that my experience was as amazing as the first time (2 years ago) even better. There is continuous improvement in the service and facilities. Bravo to all the staff especially Huda who was very helpful. Keep it up everybody. Nothing
An absolutely beautiful Riad with a number of private areas to relax in. Rooms beautifully furnished . Close to a gate where one can get taxis. Food excellent. Nothing I did not like. Loved Riad Fes
Quality fittings in room with a touch of Moroccan style No free internet access
Nice staff, good location. The hotel is not so bad, although I would not rate it at the five stars it is supposed to have. There were minor problems (broken bath tub, tv remote control, bathroom waste bin), but my main objection concerns the breakfast. Here's what happened: During booking on this website, I selected the breakfast option (€15 per person per night). It turns out that if you book breakfast at the hotel, you only pay two thirds of this. In other words, the package deal is more expensive than if you order the room and breakfast separately. When we discovered this, the hotel insisted on the price agreed on booking.com. So regardless of who makes money on this, do not under any circumstance click the breakfast option when booking the hotel!!
People are very friendly, helpful, location very good, every thing excellent No
The staff were fantastic and treated us like family! The food was also amazing and there was so much of it that we never needed lunch.
Beautiful traditional furniture, very nice breakfast. Perhaps one needs a guide to find this hotel - located inside the Medina but complicated way to reach. Hot water was available not more than 15min per day.
Beautiful view of fes, romantic atmosphere at night, candlelit terraces, very kind attentive staff . made to feel it was our own riad for 3 days
This Riad is a stunningly beautiful building with ornate feature work evident everywhere. Nice Pool, pleasant roof garden area. Good breakfast. Staff very helpful. We were encouraged to have dinner at Riad on first night ( Friday ) and advised there would be nothing open elsewhere. Dinner was large and delicious although very expensive and most restaurants elsewhere were indeed open. Any extras ordered ( coffee for instance ) were also very expensive. Bed very hard and uncomfortable. Internet not available anywhere ( not as advertised ) except main area downstairs and then not always working.
Everything, as above. Very welcoming, fantastic decor, out of this world.
The hotel decor was fantastic and the rooms were luxurious. The staff were polite and attentive. The subdued lighting in the bedrooms was so subdued we couldnt read!
The staff were wonderful, particularly with my 3 year old son. Rooms were fabulous and the pool fantastic after a hot day in the Medina.
friendliness and helpfulness of the stuff. Location is exelent. Facilities and a general looks of the riad is just beautifull.
stunning Riad the room we stayed in was dusty, with plaster falling from the wall and was generally run down. Couldn't sleep because of the noisy airconditioning and noise outside. upon departure the hotel manager tried to charge me 105 euros rather than the 90 euros I'd booked the room at.
very kind staff the swimming pool was closed and the satellite tv was black and white and no sound and no english spoken channels.
The owner Mostafa is truely a friendly man. If you arrivr at Fez airport, just take his shuttle offer since taxis to he city are state owned and same price, but can not always find the riad. Once in the riad, Mostafa has answered all our questions and when necessary he joined me to the bank. He is fluent in English, French And knows the country so his advice was valuable to us. The riad is beautiful, pictures represent it well.
It was hard to find. I recomend shuttle service to the hotel.
very beautiful riad, give the feeling of staying in a little palace, perfect decoration, friendly staff, very clean, not far from point of interest, good food maybe the price of hammam approximately 22 euros, which I think could be free or cheaper but otherwise happy of my stay.
I spent nearly a month in Morocco staying in numerous love at ions throughout the country, and I can say unequivocally that Riad El Amine Fez was the nicest of all! The staff was welcoming the moment I arrived. The Riad was beautiful and unlike many who have a covering over the courtyard permanently Riad El Amine Fez employed a retractable cover above the courtyard that they were not shy to open up.and enhance the ambiance & magical Moroccan light of this enchanting accommodation. I would be remiss if I didn't also didn't say I had the two finest meals in my entire stay in Morocco! As we say in the US, this wonderful & unexpected home away from home, was a Home Run!!! The staff arranged for an all day trip with my special request for a fluent English speaker in the Middle Atlas Mountains that was simply sublime, and I would express my many thanks to Mustafa for the memories that'll last a lifetime in this magical place that this Riad helped play a significant part!!!
quiet and relaxing and the staff were attentive i felt the meal i had on arrival wasn't exactly fresh and it was pricey for what it was
Decor Terrible dry repetitive bread / dough / breakie - daily // no sunbathing area
The location is very good, just at the entrance of the medina. The décor is wonderful, a real Marocan palace. The bathroom smells weird.
The Riad lived up to every expectation I had during our stay. It was truly an oasis each day of quiet and seclusion, and the attention by the owner and staff was exceptional. I loved the mint tea and orange blossom water on our arrival. I would recommend this Riad to everyone without exception.
This Riad is really beautiful and luxurious, I mean the garden and the atmosphere. The rooms are nice, but a bit too dark and the bathroom a little bit smelly, once there is no window on it. The manager is the only member of the staff that speaks english, the rest speaks french, but it was not a problem because the manager stays there the whole day and night. The breakfast is good and the location is also convenient, 5 minutes by walk you are already in the Medina (south gate) and if you wanna go to the north gate, where the restaurants are, it is 15 minutes walk or you can take a taxi that will costs 1€.
Simply the best place I have ever been.
Fantastic architecture, perfect in every detail, very friendly and helpful staff and management, very good food No
Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Interior was well decorated and the great trouble to restore this Riad definitely paid off as it looks fabulous inside. The manager was very friendly and a great host. Also the food was great.
Nothing I booked a specific suite for 3 and received a different room with a small double bed. Very cramped.
the staff were amazing , it was like staying in a villa with personal service from the kitchen to the reception.. all fabulous, will be back V.soon
Outstanding view from the terrasse. Staff very helpful. Very good location right next to the medina.
The staff were very accomadating including providing breakfast on arrival at 10am and breakfast on departure at 6am. The owner and Fatima were very helpful in making our stay memorable. The restaurant staff were really lovely and helpful and went out of there way to ensure everything was just right, thank you. The inside of the Palace was truely amazing with lots of lovely rooms and the view from the terrace where we ate breakfast and dinner was again truely amazing. We loved Morocco and all that Palais De Fes Dar Tazi offered. We would stay here again.
Good food and nice staff. Good rooms and it was quite comfortable. Rooms and hotel authentically decorated. The terrace was really nice and it was great to eat food out there. There was too much food and it was quite pricey. Its was not near the tourist area of the Medina but it was near the authentic area of the Medina. It was not near any other restaurants.
great integration in a Fes Medina The choice in the restaurant is limited . Too much stairs.
staff courtesy....especially lady called ameena. hotel owner Mr Tazi will make you feel welcomed...staff are friendly and helpful. some staff members can be a bit too friendly....therefore not for those who like seclusion and being left alone.
place was extremely clean, and well designed, with fantastic typical moroccan decor. The food amazing, the staff great, and very helpful. The view of Fes from the restaurant was magnificent. Not the cheapest place to stay if on a budget.
the staff were excellent, warm welcoming went the extra mile for our comfort . food portions was generous. music and intertainment at night matches the city . need modernization of the furniture , rooms , textile . lights .
Great terrace right close to the Madina. Fantastic view and very nice place to taste the atmosphere in Fes. Both outside as well as inside the hotel (reception) very hard selling tactics on taxis, guide (very expensive and still looked she was there for the shops commission as well), hamman, which was very unconvenient. The other staff though in the restaurant and cleaning were very friendly and nice. A pitty that the people at the door are not friendly at all.
Staff were very friendly & the rooms were very clean and spacious Very high ceilings so the building carried the noise throughout, could disturb your sleep depending on which room you were allocated
This was the most unique and beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. The architecture is extraordinary and our room was wonderful. The staff are very friendly. I was nervous about bringing two small children to such a luxurious hotel, but the staff made us welcome and went out of their way to help accommodate our children. The location is excellent, a few minutes walk from the downtown.
everything, the staff is very amabile and receiver for our pretencies. the room is very romantic and characteristic anadalusian style. we have fresh fruits in room.I recomand for everyone want to relaxe. the food also is delicios. nothing
quietness of the place; warmness of the reception; beauty of the place; convenience of the localisation
Wonderful friendly staff with the most fantastic cook - the food was absolutely delicious. Fantastic location for exploring the ancient medina of Fes.
It was an excellent location in the crowded medina of Fes. They gave us other rooms. As far as I can see, better rooms for the same price. The only "minus" was that the bathroom and the room were not on the same floor.
