all rooms are for smokers, therefore if you are not a smoker, you'll feel the heavy air. it did not seem very clean either.
The stay was fine. The rooms are a little run down and in need of some repair. Otherwise everything was fine. Staff were very helpful and with a nice manner. Some of the furniture was torn and the chairs were very dusty. There were also holes in the wall.
The location of the hotel right in the city centre. Enjoyable breakfast. Very high cost for internet ( 2.5 euros/hour). Most of the hotels offer internet wireless for free. Praking is just for max 10 cars right in front of the hotel. It si not actually a parking place, cars are stopped near the sidewalk. Furniture and bathroom equipments should have been changed years ago.
central location, good restaurant when ballrooms in use create too much noise for the guests on the 1st floor.
A good hotel in the best place, close to old town. .
excellent staff friendly, polite, professional
Very clean hotel with very efficient and nice personnel
The room was spacious, well-arranged, & clean with comfortable twin bedding. The bathroom was equally clean & well-equipped and the lighting was not overwhelmingly bright. Conveniently centrally located and generally friendly staff. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive & more than reasonably tasty with fresh fruit to add to the enjoyment. As with most hotels in Romania, the room & corridor temperature wasn't exactly extremely pleasant, it was invariably too warm and somewhat stifling. The card for accessing the room did not function fully at all times, due to a faulty activation perhaps. As with all Romanian hotels experienced so far, again the milk for cereals consumption was definitely almost lukewarm, as opposed to a preferred genuinely cold, which somewhat lessened the otherwise perfect breakfast experience.
bed lowd aircon.
Excellent location, right in the heart of Bucharest, very clean rooms, rich breakfast, nice bistro at the ground floor. The tv did not work in the first day of my staying, quite small rooms for its price, lack of parking spaces, breakfast starts only at 7.00 am,i think 6.30 would have been better.
Breakfast was excellent
Nice personel and a good location.Restaurant was also good. Very small room with view to an other building one meter away. That is why i would never go back to this hotel.Room had an unpleasant odor.
The location of the hotel was great. The rooms were spacious, comfortable with adequate amenities provided. The staff was friendly and helpful. Internet connection was horrible in the rooms. Have to be in lobby to work on internet. Breakfast menu needs to be seriously enhanced
Excellent location. Good food. Friendly staff. Nothing
location very dim lights
close to our seminar overpriced, arrogant staff
Location ; comfortable ample junior suite; good restaurant
Good location and very clean and peaceful hotel. Taste of luxury from old days. Very good service in Romanian standards!!! Small but not fatal issues like bad smell from waste pipes (or similar), leaking shower cubicle, cold coffee in breakfast.
The cooperation and the hospitality of the staff. The staff are the best thing about this hotel.Room design was also very nice. the breakfast room was very small. The collection of items was not wide.
The hotel should be ranked as 3 or 4 stars and not as 5 stars
comfortable bed breakfast was so simple and bad taste
great location too old!
Staff was helpful and very polite, location is excellent, hotel is quiet and stylish. The room was much smaller than expected, in particular for a 5* hotel. Bathroom was really small, nothing to do with the pictures on the web site. Quite dissappointing.
A beautiful traditional hotel, very centrally located. Courteous, helpful staff. Excellent restaurant. Price out of season was very reasonable for a quality hotel in such a central location. Comfortable, warm (it was minus 20 degrees C outside!), free internet access. This is Romania - you have to manage your expectations a little bit, but I have no complaints about my stay.
The early 20th building has been beautifully restored, while the interiors have been tastefully designed in a high end contemporary style. All the rooms are actually suites, with separate living/dining area, foyer, bedroom and bathroom. All the spaces are ample, very well appointed and extremely clean. A sumptuous breakfast in the rooftop restaurant Ici et La (with great views) is included in the price. The French food served at the restaurant at night is extraordinary and very well priced: do not miss it! The hotel is very well located, close to the Old Town, the beautiful Cismigiu Park, the National Art Museum, and major avenues. Although a few of the buildings on the Regina Elizabeta Boulevard seem to be abandoned, they are all outstanding examples of 19th and early 20th century European architecture. Staff was very helpful. We loved everything!
Comfortable hotel in a very good location. Staff friendly. Good breakfast buffet.
The staff was courteous. The facilities were clean and well kept. The hotel is very well situated. More written/tourist information about the city should be provided. We were given a one-page map produced by a casino, but in another hotel we were able to find a booklet about Bucharest with lots of information we could have used earlier in our visit. The Central Hotel staff tried to sell us their expensive tourist tour to Transylvania instead of informing us of other options.
Very nice and comfortable rooms. The hotel has a beautiful and modern design. Staff are professional and friendly. It's a short walk from the train agency where you can buy tickets. Great location.
The location is perfect and the staff are very friendly and helpfull Not directly the hotel but the shuttle from the airport is extremely expensive
The room was comfortable clean and furnished modernly. The interior of the hotel had a quirky arty design. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an excellent buffet. I enjoyed the stay of 4 nights and thought it a good choice for central Bucharest.
In center of city, but easy park near hotel. New and stylish hall and room. Possible connect note book with LCD TV. Can prepare tea or coffee. Real work cooler. Safe box. Good breakfast. On the first floor McDonalds). 200m park. 500m center of old city. Didn't find instruction for safe box.
location, quite fresh hotel, free wifi, clean not very convenient parking, actually they have no)) but you can leave your car outside, if there is a place)
Location is fantastic, great access to historic parts of city, parks, and nightlife. Nice design/decor, spacious closet in rooms. I wish I had known about the parking situation prior to arriving, it worked out okay to be at city hall. The air conditioning took a long time to cool the room effectively.
good central location, actually parked for free right outside the hotel. Obviously very expensively decked out rooms and facilities. Great reduction through booking.com First receptionist was abrupt and gave us no information or help. The price is still too high but this is true of all hotels in Bucharest, I think.
I booked in the Central Hotel bu finally I stayed in Opera Hotel, they had no availability due to the arrival of a group.
Supurb location. Top breakfast buffet included in room rate
Size and style of the room No
the hotel is in a very good aria of bucharest , is a very nice hotel, clean, with nice staff for a good price
Clean, comfortable, good space, efficient staff. It was not possible to get extra tea or coffee sachets at 6pm!!!!! A small point, but bad.
Very much the comfort and very kind staff. Problem with cleaning.................The price is a litlle much too high for such type of the hotel!!!
I liked the hotel itself and the location. The staff were very friendly. There is no parking at the hotel (pedestrian street) and the parking possibilities were not clearly explained by the staff, so we ended up improvising with the guardian of some private company parking lot nearby, which was weird and quite uncomfortable
A perfect place to stay in Bucharest!
Very good hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast and absolutely fantastic location, close to all major sights and very good restaurants.
Cosy small hotel nicely located in old town with recently refurbished room which looked exactly like on the online pictures. Helpful staff that would fulfill your smallest need with a smile. Although hotel does not have a restaurant, a room-service is organised from the nearby restaurants and cafés. Excellent. If you want to avoid "tastless and odourless" international hotels, Rembrandt is a good alternative. Personnally, I wasn't disturbed but there is a risk of noise from the cafes and bars below on the street. Looks like a popular going-out part of town. Despite "noise risk" to my understanding the rooms facing the street are nicer than the ones towards the backyard.
Very nice hotel. Worth staying in. Nice breakfast
The place is excelent, everything was as expected: breakfast simple but enough, no lift but staff very helpful, room small but enough. The relation of price/location/quality good. The girl in the recepcion very kind and with a lot of pacience The local council is reparing all the streets, and the work disturbs a little.
Furniture chosen with good taste. Controllable air conditioning. Clean. Well located. The windows were not fully sound-proof (ear plugs needed for sleeping). There was no safe in the room and the safe procedure at the reception was bureaucratic but without an actual safe and just a drawer.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is right in the heart of the city
Checking out. There's an open air dance club across the street. Even with the Windows shut, it was impossible to sleep and even if you managed to sleep it was impossible to relax. The sink drain was broken.
Good facilities with friendly staff. Very clean. Not sited in the best position, but that's Bucharest.
Good location, friendly staff. Room was small but ok. A bit too noisy outside on the street during night.
location, size of junior suite no hot water during a break down
Great location. Very modern, clean, good breakfast, very friendly, professional, and knowledgible staff. Just the fact that no double room had two beds...
All is covered in question 2
Very good service Location is central (as good as it gets basically) but streets around the hotel are under major repair.
The room was comfortable. The staff, while friendly on the surface, became indifferent if there was anything out of the ordinary. For example, I developed food poisoning and while I was trying to get a ride to the airport (quite sick and doubled over with stomach cramps) the woman behind the desk took a personal call (with lots of laughing and chatting) while I had to wait for her attention, even though she knew I was sick.
I've been all over Bucharest and this is most certainly the best hostel in the city. Very nice staff, cool terrace and kitchen, fast internet. Right by old center and all the bars. Nothing bad about the place. You might meet some strange tourists from all over the world but that's part of the fun of staying in a hostel in a big city.
Friendly cute girl at reception, after check in they left me alone which is nice. Wifi is smoking fast, I was able to download a 1 GB file in about 20 seconds. Cheap and right in the middle of centru vechi. Showers are weird, takes some finesse to get a good pressure and temperature. A compromise that comes with being in the middle of the party, you are surrounded by clubs that blast music all night and drunk people are screaming outside along with it. Security is a little questionable, use the provided lockers!
