Prós: it's pretty clean. location very close to walmart, movies, shops. free wifi. free breakfast.
Prós: GREAT PRICE FOR THE ACCOMODATION, FREE BREAKFAST, NICE POOL, GOOD FRIENDLY SERVICE. ROOMS ARE NOT OVERLY EQUIPPED BUT YET VERY COMFORTABLE.
Prós: 5-minutes from Boystown, zona de tolerance. Nice pool, friendly staff, safe parking. Couldn't be more pleased!
Prós: It was great! They had great breakfast a beautiful pool nice room I liked it a lot.
Contras: No, not really, I'm not the biggest fan of out door rooms but it was still pretty nice.
Prós: Don't be afraid to go to Mexico, many nice things to
Prós: The front desk staff was excellent, and helped solve our travel problems.
Prós: There is actually an error on the website. It was listed as two star, but other websites listed it as the appropriate four star rating that it deserves. Nice pool. Staff was excellent. Internet wifi was adequate although a little bit intermittent.
Contras: The 'hot breakfast' was limited to two hot food items. One or two more 'hot' items would have been better.
Contras: The gym was completely non-functional. The food was expensive and average at best. The sleeping accomodations qualified for a 'motel' experience and the staff was non-existent.
Good value; spacious, clean room for a good price, on the main avenue, next to two other hotels that are more expensive. Our price included wifi in-room, which is great, and a continental breakfast (cereal, granola, bread, ok fruit, yogurt, orange juice and coffee). HOWEVER, the hotel is next to a very noisy area that had very loud music all night long (from 9pm to 4am)! Unfortunately, no matter how good the room, the service, the cleanliness, if you can't sleep than the entire experience is a negative one. Especially if you've had a long day of driving and you need to wake up refreshed to continue driving, this is not the place for you. This might not be an issue if it's not a weekend night or holiday. Maybe weeknights are not noisy.
Prós: The price included wifi access in-room and continental breakfast, and the hotel is easy to find and get to. The continental breakfast is cereal, granola, ok fruit, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, milk, bread.
Contras: The hotel is next to a very noisy area. There was very loud music all night (didn't stop till 4am), due to the fact that it was a friday night. So loud that it keeps you from falling asleep and wakes you up even if you manage to fall asleep.
Prós: The watercan shower was nice. The bathroom was roomy. The mattress was comfortable
Contras: Noise from other rooms or from the ballroom can be a problem. The toilet flush mechanism was broken, and they only half fixed it. There were two towels but no washcloth. Very basic television. No refrig, etc.
gteat location, close to the border. Good services, freee breakfast. and high speed Internet.
Prós: Greqt staff service, very helpful, and always looking for a way to help.
Contras: The gym did not has towels, but that's not really a problem.
Perched along a major highway overlooking the Rio Grande, the HIE at first appears stark - stone and steel on the outside, with military bunkers around the perimeter of the parking lot. Inside, the HIE is quite attractive, stone and tile, large open spaces with comfy furniture, a business center, a small but adequate gym and pool. The room was spacious with a very generous bathroom. The breakfast buffet always included fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, breads, eggs, bacon, ham, frijoles (refried beans), and one or two regional dishes. Very good coffee, tea, and a selection of fruit juices. Excellent, but be early! There is a shuttle in the early morning and late afternoon/evening, but be sure to make your arrangements in advance. We've stayed in a number of lesser hotels that got better ratings than HIE, but the overall experience was actually well above the average two and three star ratings. If we only needed to stay one or two nights, we would certainly stay here again. Unfortunately, the location makes a longer stay more expensive due to transportation costs, so this would not be our choice for another extended stay.
Prós: The room itself was great, spacious and clean. Breakfast was a satisfying buffet of Mexican & American favorites. Staff was very friendly and helpful, made referrals for salons, restaurants, and other services, which all turned out to be excellent.
Contras: Distance from everything meant having to drive everywhere, no walking, no bus, etc. Mexican military is now stationed there, perhaps to comfort the fearful, but we found it less than romantic. We saw very few other hotel guests during our stay.
Prós: Super friendly and accommodating staff.
Super convenient location for those visiting the US consulate
Contras: Pool closed.
Easily worst Mexican food I've had in their restaurant.
No free breakfast.
No AC in Lobby near reception.
Restaurant closes 1 hour before the time they say in the Hours of Operation.
Never saw the bar open in the 3 days I was there. It is supposed to be open late into the night.
