Convenient, expensive, lifeless. Excessive changes for food. Look elsewhere.
Good breakfast and location Wi-fi at $20 a night.
Service was too good. Everything was good.
The staff assisted my with all my desires, and even helped arrange for a replacement rental car! Absolutely the best hotel in the region.
They upgraded us to a river view room because we were there between the holidays. Then when they found out it was our anniversary, they left a fruit plate and bottle of wine in our room.
Tea making facilities in room, central to city centre, easy access to bus routes, excellent breakfast but a little dear at €21 Poor bar facilities
Staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel was undergoing renovations and hence some facilities were not available or were relocated. Believe hotel should have informed us of this so we could have reviewed our decision to stay there. Also hotel used by air crews who are very noisy and inconsiderate.
Apart from being a wonderful hotel, I would like to state that the staff were the most friendly, courteous, polite people I have met in a hotel in a long time. They couldn't do enough to help in any situation, directions, taxi's etc and they also wished us, as Irish soccer supporters the best of luck for the game !!
Roomy room No wifi in room unless you paid
Great location, easy access to Rhine River cruise departures and scenic wine routes. Mainz offers a variety of nightlife, shopping and food choices, all within easy walking from this hotel. Construction/renovation at the hotel appears to be completed. Added a very nice restaurant.
It's location was ideal-- Lack of use of a computer for internet. Not everyone has a laptop. Later learned that there seemed to be a computer available as airline crew members were using it. Did not appreciate the lack of knowledge about this computer and the attitude of the staff about using a computer. Was willing to pay a fee but that option not available.
Good location and comfortable room. Breakfast buffet was impressive cost of parking
Car Park was part of the Hotel, not on the Street as with some Hotels. No complaints at all.
The staff was very nice and the hotel was pretty clean. The mattress and the pillow was uncomfortable (quite soft) but I understand that this is subjective
Great location, friendly staff. Good variety for breakfast.
Friendly staff. Excellent central location with lots of shopping, sightseeing, restaurants and a dance studio all close by. The hotel is ust off the the main street in a courtyard so a bit quieter. Really nice comfortable room. Pretty breakfast room. The bathroom has almost no surfaces to put stuff on. The toilet was a bit tempermental. There is not enough sound-proofing between guest rooms. Maybe I'm spoiled by larger, more expensive hotels. But the price was right. I would stay here again.
Central Position. For the rest basic services. Room and bathroom small but serviceable. Friendly staff. Cleaning OK. Price reasonable.
very good breakfast and near everything (Rivercruises and railwaystation) no fridge in the room, very bad noise suppression
Everything More leaflet information about sehenswurdigkeiten
The hotel room was very clean and tidy and the staff friendly. There were no hot drink facilities in the room and so i was charged for the cup of tea that i wanted upon my arrival. It would have been nice to have been provided with a kettle and some tea bags/coffee sachets etc..
very comfortable and homely good central location
Clossness to the Station and some of the city sights
Location and russian staff on reception
If you go for the Rhine river trip, this is a good location for the hotel Quite far away from Mainz HBF
The best feature of the hotel is its location. It overlooks the Rhine and is a nice short walk (10 to 15 minutes) along the riverfront to the centre of town where the Guttenburg museum and catherdral are to be found. Mainz is a town well worth a visit and this hotel is as good a centre as any.
High quality breakfast Far from the city center, parking place for extra fee, far from the hotel
The hotel is perfectly located - couldn't be better. Just a 5-minute walk to the many shops, restaurants, farmers' market, & The Dom (cathedral) in the old town, a 15-minte walk form the main train and bus station, and literally across the street from the beautiful Rhein, where students, lovers, cyclists and runners can be found in droves. I had a room with large windows overlooking the Rhein river - it was fabulous. Nice and sunny in the morning, fresh breeze...and when the windows were closed, they completely shut out the noise of the city. The breakfasts were also very good - typically German - lots of great food to choose from. And the staff were very helpful, giving me maps and directions, etc. They also speak English.
