Previously to my arrival I dealt with Ms. Adela Prada (reception) and Mr. Siamak Nassirpour (manager). They were responsive, attentive, kind and efficient and they resolved satisfactorily all the issues I had. The room was a little bit small.
Room was clean and comfortable. Workout room had plenty of equipment. Pool was small but refreshing. Price seemed like a bargain, until learning... Parking was $28 per day. Internet was $13 a day ($17 for fast). Rooms with two beds had double beds, not queens like other hotels. We originally booked one room with two beds but ended up getting a second room so our adult children would be comfortable. We spent more than twice what we expected. And then they over-changed us for parking, so we had to get that corrected. The hotel was fine but the price and experience were less than great.
I was given a handicap room that smelled like wet dogs and my socks were covered with dog hair! I had to call maintenance to come fix the toilet as well.
Upgrade to a balcony room w/seating area No working lights on the balcony, so we didn't go outside
Decor and quality towels sheets and entry. Parking expenses
Location to UCSD and easy access to North SD attractions. Plenty of eateries within close distance of hotel. Staff was super friendly and as promised got us a noon check-in. Thumbs down on $25 parking
Every ammenity cost money. For example, the ad for the hotel advertises Wifi but to get this feature in the room you must pay $12.95 a day.
There for a wedding; venue, food and staff were great. Nice they had small frig and a little coffeemaker in room. There are some small shops and eateries (i.e. Einsteins Bagels) nearby. Room was nice. Bar was nice and open late. Pet friendly, lots of dogs around if you like dogs. Good gym, and pool was nice and warm. $25/day parking, and $12/day for wifi (think free wifi if you reserve as rewards member). Luckily there is some street parking 2 blocks away on weekends (otherwise 2 hr 8-6) and some all day on Lajolla Village Dr. Location was in a business park area so wouldn't want to stay there except for an event.
It was excellent I will stay ther any time
We left the room at 12:10 one day and they didn't clean the room that day
Room was very nice, hotel staff very pleasant. location was pretty close to La Jolla shores which was a big bonus! $25 a night parking, making you pay $12 a day for internet... my phone is cheaper than that, no free breakfast, no hot tub, no sauna, the gym was very basic. Pretty disappointing paying premium price for everything but getting basic hotel features the holiday inn down the street would have offered.
Close to UCSD campus. I prefer Marriott hotels cause I have silver membership. This particular hotel staff was unfriendly, slow and insulting intellectually. I prepaid my two days stay and called the hotel the day before and asked for two queen beds. still on arrival rudely I was told that Queen bed rooms were all sold out. At check out waited 20 minutes in the room and ended up carrying everything ourselves. Given excuse was they were very busy. Very snob attitude. No one apologizing. Do not recommend.
Everything Wasn't really anything we didn't like.
Maids did not show up At All one day! Bellmen were rude and disrespectful
The view was amazing, the hotel was beautiful. , I wish there were more staff on hand for the check out, I would have liked to confirm the receipt and everything, but the line was so long that we had to leave to make an appointment we had without getting to the front desk.
Private and quiet. Great pool and spa. Nothing.
The staff was great. It was pretty clean an quiet. Pool was nice. Wasn't as close to the beach as they advertise. Still had to take about a 15-20 minute drive. The room service is terrible. Very limited menu, nothing very appetizing. we finally decided on a pizza and a pork dish, which were both very bland and not that good to be honest. And our bill turned out to be $90!!! Such a rip off. That's the most I've ever paid for something like that and I've stayed at many hotels in my life.
Beautiful grounds. I had to get housekeeping to clean the bathroom as it was really, really disgusting! The toilet was so bad I do not know how they could possibly not clean it. Then the shower also looked like it had been used as a toilet! Had to also go to front desk our second day there to ask for some one to clean our room! Beautiful grounds but housekeeping is the worst I have ever seen! Not what I would expect of a Hilton.
I have a nice stay. Beautiful property.
Location is priceless We reported our bathroom light wasn't working. We were told it would be repaired while we were out. It wasn't repaired and I question whether anyone really came to the room. There was a paper wrapper and something else small on the carpet near the door. We left it there to see if the housekeeping was doing their job. We stayed 3 days and so did the paper. No pool beverage or food service. I can understand that might be the case in the winter, but not in July. For such an outstanding location and view, you would expect a beautiful dining experience. Not so, it's the same boring coffee shop style room it was at our last visit over 15 years ago. Menu is limited and pricey. We walked next door to the beautifully remodeled Lodge at Torrey Pines and had a outstanding breakfast with an incredible view. We will be staying there next trip.
The one thing I disnt like was for our taking an hour to get ready and they have to give us another room. Also, I think I was charged different from what was on the bill I got from the hotel.
Location was beautiful. Big rooms family was comfortable. Some of the staff was rude. The First Lady to try to check me in was really nice and polite. Our room wasn't ready when we showed up so she gave us a free appetizer at the restaurant. We went down to eat while we waited and what appeared to be the manager of the restaurant was just talking away with a waiter and they kept looking at us and ignoring us. A busy waitress that was serving outside saw us rushed in and sat us down she was really helpful. It looked like she was the only one running around while the others just stood and talked. When we were done eating we went back to Check in and a male helped us check in. He was not friendly and was rude when answering my questions. Very poor customer service on his part.
The staff, the views, and service was outstanding Food at the resturaunt was a bit pricy but still good
Reception was very nice. Decor is nice. Room was clean, set up nicely. All updated. To no fault of the hotel, it's a drive to restaurants and shopping. Parking at the hotel is quite expensive, run by a separate company.
Facilities Location & price.
The view They changed $47 for parking
Great location, we had a beautiful view of the water and of the pool area. The pool was very nice as were the hot tubs. The room was very clean and spacious and the staff was very polite. And I did not have to wait long for an elevator. The only issue we had was that our parking pass was note coded so we were unable to exit the garage. The staff quickly corrected it thouh.
The decor was amazing throughout the hotel. The foyer/lobby was stunning along with the rooms. We stayed in the Harbor Tower on the 23rd floor. The view was spectacular. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only problem we had was with our TV to where we couldn't order movies one night. The night manager gave us a $100 credit which was very satisfactory. I would definitely stay here again. The food at the Market wasn't good. I had a turkey sandwich from the refrigerated section and the bread was very stale. My wife ordered a bagel with cream cheese and she could hardly bite into it.
Everything! Service and location was best Dusty room
We immediately felt welcome as Rob at the front desk gave us information about the facility and its surroundings. He gave us a corner room near the top with spectacular views. We got two beds which is plenty of room for family of four. Inside the room there is is luxurious atmosphere with open space. There is also Keurig with Starbucks coffee. Overall clean and modern, with even electronic shades. I have stayed at plenty of upscale hotels and this is the best by far. The location is the best. I went jogging at the lovely Seaport Village right next to it. The Gaslamp Quarter is also near. Overall an excellent place and we would definitely come back!
Our checkin was quick and we love the location. I expected room to be a little cleaner for what we paid...
View. Room size. Location. When I woke up in the AM i noticed my iPhone was covered in dust. I then noticed the desk with my black laptop, across from the air conditioning vent was also covered in dust particles. This is a big deal for me because I have a dust mite allergy, but still have never seen this level of dust collect just overnight. I think the air filter vents in these rooms are very very dirty and just blow dust all night as Long as the AC is running. I was extremely congested all day due to my allergy and had a hard day networking at my convention. Also, the TV service this day and age is sub-poor. No guide and some of the channels didn't work "no signal".
- Great location - Great drinking & dining options - Great interior design and decor - Clean - Loud guests after 10pm - A little on the expensive side - Add-on expenses (parking, water, etc)
Unlimited Access To EVERYTHING FUN Leaving
Views Large king bed Activities in and around Near gas lamp District Self parking fee - 35 (50 deposit) Better soundproof doors closer to elevators Near gas lamp district
It is on the bayfront and has restaurants and close to Gaslamp. On the first morning of our stay, the housekeeping supervisor with her clipboard came banging at our door at 8am. She didn't stop until we jolted out of a deep sleep to answer the door. When we came to the door she pretended not to speak English. The parking is $35/day. There is no fridge in the room. The duvets had stains and smelt bad.
Oh the views from the rooms on the upper floors are incredible. Rooms are average size, and much smaller than the Marriott and Hyatt which are close by. Parking $35 a day what a ripoff. My daily rate for the car rental was less. It was difficult to find the Fox Sports Bar as you had to go outside. Hotel needs to have better signage.
Well kept room Terrible wi-fi and 17USD / day upgrade is utterly ridiculous
We loved the location and he cleanliness. It was very quiet and the room was extremely comfortable! We did like the view but wished there were more pictures online so you can get a good feel of the view you're paying for. I believe it would be helpful for further bookings.
Nice, clean room. Nice hotel. I would go back, but hated paying $35 for parking!! Parking is WAY too expensive!!
The locations was great next to the convention center and Gas Lamp. Also close to food and shops. Clean, renovated and felt luxurious.
Location Given room with bad view. When others were available with good view.
Clean and comfortable It would appear people mostly come here too party. The first night there was a party at a the end of the hall and a large case of empty beer cans in the hall in the morning. The second night We were woken at about midnight to screaming and carrying on outside our room, literally outside our room. We asked the partiers to be quieter but gave up when we saw it was > 15 people in the hallway. They quieted down at 0300.
Located with in walking distance to the Gas Lamps District, Petco Park, water front and many more areas that I like. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Every year me and the wife go on a little get away and we always stay here.
Can't beat the view! We have stayed numerous times, always a good experience.
View from room was spectacular . Beds very comfortable Booked a view room on line requested a refrigerator got to hotel was told that I did not book that room and it would be $ 35.00 dollars more a night for view room . No refrigerator. 2 days without housekeeping had to call front desk to get room cleaned.
Location is great being right off the bay, convention center next door. Views of downtown and Coronado island were stunning from our room. Parking runs between $30-$40 per night, which wasn't included in the original booking costs. On site restaurant had bad reviews; fox bar was decent.
I brought my dog and all the staff could help direct me places to go. Thanks for the beautiful view I enjoyed Wish I could have walked somewhere for less expensive foods
the amenities close to the water staff was very accommodating and friendly our upgraded room was amazing what's not to like? Met our expectations.
The balcony! The cleanliness! The comfort! Pet-friendly (Belle, our chihuahua, was happy to be with us)! Everything was great!
Staff was polite Understaffed with ling lines to check in and out. Key cards never seemed to work. Remote control in room was broken. And for some reason the cleaning staff liked to block my door to my room with their cart. Spent most of my time away from the hotel.
Location is how this place makes its money. Very convienent Not updated at all and the beds where cheap.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Sheraton. I stayed in the Bay Tower. The hotel was very quiet and relaxing. My room had a great view of the bay and the balcony was large. The hotel is located closer to the airport, so you don't get a lot of street noise or foot traffic (which adds to the quiet/relaxed vibe of the hotel). The room was large/spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. The room was very well decorated. The staff was very friendly and professional. Initially, I was placed in a room on the 2nd floor which is the lobby level, i.e. ground floor. When I got to the room, I didn't like the location, so I called guest services and requested a new room. They were more than accommodating, and moved me to a higher level. The balcony furniture needs to be updated. I enjoyed the balcony, however, the furniture is cheap in comparison to everything else in the room. The resort fee seems unnecessary. I was charged a fee, but never told what was included with the fee. The price increases for higher floors (so my room change cost me more money per day). The rooms could be cleaner. As nice as the hotel was, the room needed to be dusted. There was dust everywhere (on the coffee maker, in the mini bar, on the lamps, and on the remote control). It appeared as if the room hadn't been used in a while.
Easy to get to airport and back A little overpriced for quality. Parking is expensive and breakfast should be included or offered at a better price
Location. Waited 20 minutes to check in. Entirely too long.
The tower I didn't stay in The second tower is a five minute walk from the first and all the nicer facilities are in the first tower.
Close to airport and had a shuttle to the airport. Close to Gaslamp District, so we could take a cab for dinner. Restaurants were closed down with the exception of one. The palm tree outside of our window blocked our view. The room you get through online is the old tower (hotel) and quite removed from everything else. Noise all night with partying people upstairs...went until 4:45 a.m. until we left for the airport.
Morning It's dirty, cockroaches, staff was rude. Overall worst hotel experience ever. I will never come back again.
Their were some perks my co-workers received without inquiring about and I was not even asked. My room was not ready until 6:15 pm then I asked for a late check out they gave me a hard time.
Lobby The room was tiny, very uncomfortable, and lousy view. The charge for the room was ridiculous. We also had to pay $30 to park her car.,,
Facility - historic landmark Food service was a bit slow
The pool is very nice and most of the staff are friendly. They didn't answer their main telephone number, at all, in the days leading up to my arrival. They also do a poor job of warning guests that July 4 fireworks cannot be viewed from the hotel unless you are in a private reserved area. Missing much of the fireworks while exploring the hotel for a non-exclusive vantage point was, needless to say, a bummer. Housekeeping was marginal: some room service items weren't removed, shampoo/toiletries weren't replenished, and drain in shower was clogged with sand upon arrival.
The service is outstanding. Every team member at every level cannot do enough for you. The grounds are beautiful overlooking the Pacific Ocean. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel. There is nothing about this hotel that you will not like!
Friendly staff. The room was very clean
The place was beautiful. First, My girlfriend and I arrived to relax our first valentine's day weekend for one night. I made an arrangement with the Spa to have a couple's massage which included the tub. The tub was broken and replaced for hands and feet massage with the package. We had our dinner reservations at the spa. Our suitcases were not in our room per our request, and we had to have our clean clothes to wear prior our dinner reservation. After, we got our bags. We went down to Mustangs & Burros for our dinner reservation and found out it was closed, and there was a sign to go to a different restaurant within the hotel. The restaurant setting was crappy and dark. The food was not great, and we each had a very pricey glass of wine which is not even full. $30 each drink!!!! ridiculous! It was not a great place for a new couple to celebrate first valentine's day!
The staff were super friendly and accommodating! Only complaint is the room service took awhile )as expected considering we ordered at the height of breakfast hours)
I liked the pool. It's a salt water pool and is great to be in as well as the hot tub. The pool area in general is lovely. There was carpet torn up in our room exposing the tack strips that hold it down causing pretty serious potential danger when walking around barefoot. Obviously the room was not checked prior to booking us into it which i would expect at these prices. That's bad enough to warrant another option in the future but the remedy for them was to tell us they were sending a maintenance person at some point in the future to fix it. No one came for an hour. We then called back annoyed we'd been wasting time sitting in the room instead of at their facilities and another front desk person said they would get on it immediately and we could change our room if we wanted to. After no service for the next hour or so i finally went to the front and asked what was going on. They apologized, and gave me a new room. They said someone could help us move our stuff to a new room. With our dinner reservations only minutes in the future I ran back to the room to start moving stuff and a staff member showed up maybe 15 minutes later to help, with them knowing full well we were in a rush to change rooms because of dinner reservations. There was nothing left for them to do. This caused us to be late to dinner. This did not cause serious trouble because the restaurant was able to accommodate us. But we were stressed and worried! We did get a call later in the evening telling us we would get our resort fees back ($25) in compensation. I don't think this fee is appropriate to begin with so I do not consider this a remedy at all. It's also a very small portion of our total costs at the hotel in relation to the inconvenience it caused us. After that saga, we returned from dinner to a couple in a room above us yelling and screaming at each other and stomping around. We tried to call the front desk after it did not cease for about 30 minutes. There was no one to receive our call at 12 midnight. After a couple attempts I decided to get dressed for a trip to the front desk and figure out what the heck is going on with the service at this place!! There was one person working the area when i got there and he apologized he was not available for our calls earlier. They seem very understaffed for a luxury hotel. He said they would look into the issue immediately. There was some additional banging of doors and yelling through the night but it was not continuous so i'm not really blaming them for that, but the level of service is just not at all what I wanted for a birthday weekend of luxury and relaxation!! I would expect what we got from a cheap hotel chain at about $40/night.
The complimentary bottle of wine and waters. Comfy mattress. Breakfast at restaurant was delicious Pillows were lumpy
love the room. especially the bed. it was very comfortable it was noisy at times, people upstairs were jumping on the bed, can hear people walking by in the hallway, esp since our room was near the entrance door. Also, usually our stay here in the past was more relaxed because it was never overly crowded. this last visit, there were three wedding parties, a medical convention, on top of the other hotel guest stays, which included parents of students checking in to UCSD. We had long wait for food at all the restaurants we went to on property on Saturday - ALL day. pool looks like Spring Break in Cabo. extremely crowded. They were severely understaffed! So aside from the visits to the restaurants on property, our entire weekend was just spent in the room and a visit to the spa. Not sure if we will stay here again
I thought it was charming. The rooms and grounds are well done. The location is perfect. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again!
Loved setting and charm of older hotel in downtown La Jolla. Ease to the beach and beauty of surrounding are.
Bed was amazing, very roomy and great price. AC was a nice perk and the proximity to beach and shops was perfect. We went for a relaxing get away it surely delivered. Parking was more challenging and valet was expensive.
Too many gnats in our room
I love this hotel! Great location, excellent staff and awesome rooms. We really appreciated getting upgraded to an ocean view suite. We definitely will return. N/A
Convenient, clean, quiet, nice balcony. Staff was very helpful getting me set up with wireless connection. $75 deposit for wireless card. It was refunded, but it would be more convenient if there was wireless without needing a card.
I loved the location. Perfect for what I was looking for. You're within walking distance to the heart of La Jolla. The parking was horrible. The parking lot is too small for a hotel of this size. Warning if you have a large vehicle don't park in the parking garage. You'll hate it when you drive in & can't find a space. Staff could be a little bit more friendly. When we checked in the guy at the desk didn't seem very friendly. When I went to check out the girl at the desk didn't say how was your stay, not even a good morning. I know they have a continental breakfast however, no one mentioned it so therefore I forgot. Despite all these negatives I would stay there again.
very well located, spacious rooms with balcony, small details (fruitbasket, iced coffee in the lobby, free wifi) no refrigerator in the room; parking fee (12$ per day)
We stay at this Best Western every time we go to La Jolla....we always have a great experience....great prices don't like having to pay for parking
Location, close to the shore/beach Shops Restaurants Amenities Galleries Construction noise Must pay for parking
Location was great and price was right. Pillows are too tall and cause neck pain; beds are hard and not comfortable. Overall, the sleep experience was lacking. Also, the shower had limited hot water and became like warm after 10 minutes; with two people to shower in our group, this was very annoying.
Feels more like a boutique hotel and less like s typical Best Western Remodeling of several rooms around us.
Large terrace room 200 Partially newly renovated Breakfast daily Nice staff Generally clean appearance Excellent location in LaJolla Maid did not clean shower or toilet only sinks Very poor water pressure
The location was outstanding. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. The lobby was tastefully decorated and parking was available and easy. Seems a little exessive to charge additionally for parking- it is not secure parking in an enclosed lot. The rooms were a little shabby, specifically the bathroom and carpeting. There was trash in the trashcan and food crumbs on the balcony when we checked in. The balcony was not ever cleaned during our stay.
We could walk to most of the places we wanted to visit in the La Jolla area. Good restaurants and friendly people. The room seemed a little dated but the bed was comfortable and we didnt spend much time in the room.
Nice service, friendly, I would like to stay again. Parking fee is 12.00. Kind of expensive.
Location, location, location! Breakfast and being served on roof excellent. Staff above average. Little balcony overlooking the park/ocean very nice. Doors absolutely slam hard when just closed normally. Unbelievably loud. Disturbs sleep at night as people come in from late activities and in the AM when others are getting up and on their way early. Rooms very outdated and not kept up well at all. Screens torn, towel rack fell out of the wall, stains om couch, etc No air conditioning and we happened to be there during warmer than normal period so the room was too warm, and effected sleep.
LOCATION SMALL ROOM, TIRED WITH RUST IN THE BATHROOM. INADEQUATE HEATING AND AIR. EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT WE GOT
Location only-literally No ice, charge you an extra $20 per day for parking, not very clean, small bathroom
The location, view, complimentary strawberry waffles, staff, salt pool and kitchenette, paying for parking, elevators not working, small bathroom counters and musty
The location was amazing, the views from the rooftop patio were unbelievable.th The facilities seemed dated. Inside the room had some 70's decor.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. We were all there for a friends wedding and they were so accommodating. The rooms were clean and nice and the pool area was great!
Everything was clean and maintained, the fire-lit driveway while pulling in at night is charming. The bed was comfortable. Being charged $30/night to park at a hotel you're already paying to stay at is ridiculous. Paying anything to park for that matter is just dumb, classless and uninviting. The hotel had a small pool, but we would have preferred a hot tub to soak in after being at the beach during the day.
Jennifer at the Front Desk was horrible. The room smelled like month balls. We called down to change rooms, she placed us on hold then the line disconnected, she did not call us back or even answer the phone until the 4th attempt not ring. finally when she answered she said casually im still trying to find a room and put us back on hold. the experience with this Front Desk agent was extremely poor.
Close to shopping center Poor front desk service
Beautiful view, clean room with comfy bed, feels safe and staff helpful. I didn't attend many, but enjoyed the planned facility activities that were offered daily. The pier is such a nice walk. I didn't see much of Oceanside itself, felt like everything I needed was just a few mins walk. The key cards were a pain. I needed to replace mine several times, but the staff gladly assisted.
Great pool Staff was very helpful
Very nice old classic. Parking fees.
Gardens, pool, clean, desk service.
The pool was nice and the grounds were lovely Overpriced for the value
Access to freeways. I often visit with children - The proximity to whole foods and other stores is helpful. It's a fairly quick drive to the beach. I stay at the Sheraton frequently because of points. I find that the staff seem scarce and rarely that friendly with the exception of the cleaning staff. The hotel rooms are adequate but showing their age. The suites are anything but delux. The layout of the suite type room is awkward with the bedroom directly at the door and hallway which requires walking thru the bedroom to get to sitting room. It does seem perfectly acceptable if your business is covering the cost of the hotel. In terms of value, as a leisure traveller, there are great smaller but charming hotels closer to the village/beach with a better price.
Was visiting UCSD. perfect location. Walking distance. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff. Great.
It was the closest hotel to where I needed to get every morning. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Good food nearby, but Humphrey's seemed way too expensive even with the discount I was offered and with the fact that I was going to get reimbursed for it. Just couldn't justify going there. The staff was very kind and I appreciated the "Go Green" points. The shower wasn't working great. It was hard to turn on and off. It didn't necessarily feel like the cleanest place. I've been inside other Sheraton locations and they were better. (like the Sheraton in Seattle) I would prefer to pay less and just have one bed. Felt unnecessary to have two for just myself.
The rooms were big and clean, beds very comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly. Great location. Fee for parking was $15 per night..this was not noted on the Website.
Great convenient location off the freeway, but generally quiet. Nice grounds, restaurant and bar just fine. Older property but pretty well maintained with nice landscaping. Easy in and out. Price is reasonable and perfect for general business and leisure stays. Not the place for flashy La Jolla style or the middle of the village or coast views. Small bathrooms.
Marriott has always been and will always been at the top of my list when it comes to lodging needs. Their attention to details is second to none. Parking fees are on the high side.
Cramped facility. Pool was closed despite Kayak website info.
Location to beach and other attractions along the coast. No real room view opportunities
I arrived 4 hours before check in and they were able to get me into my room within 15 minutes. The dinners were fantastic and every staff member went out of their way to help with anything. A terrific experience.
Location is excellentl. Amenities of hotel are up to date and staff were helpful and cordial Hotel is nearly a hundred years old. Room was on the small side but that is to expected.
Nicely restored hotel with character. Restaurant/bar is very good with open, upbeat ambiance. Bed was excellent quality. Room was pleasant. We would stay here again. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and club area as well as to the harbor with the Midway Museum. Got in about 9:45 p m and the hotel restaurant had closed early. Although the walk to the restaurant area was easy, there are about three blocks of homeless sleepers which was a bit uncomfortable.
Nice lobby with friendly staff greeting us upon arrival. Lots of charm with short excerpts posted throughout highlighting the history of the building. Room was comfortable with all needed amenities for a place to stay. The purpose of our stay was the city. This room gave us a comfy pillow top mattress to rest and recharge each night with complimentary water keeping us hydrated. Workout facility was nice and hardly crowded during our stay. No complaints and would gladly stay here again. Rooms were small. There was no view including limited sunlight through the window plus the "green" lighting made it so you had to turn every light in the room on when getting ready. Bathroom was small and no vent :-/. Closet didn't open all the way due to being obstructed by the bedside table (again, room was small). I'm being as honest as possible with these negative, but the purpose of the room was met and the pros far exceeded the cons during our stay.
Very friendly staff, the location was perfect. Valet parking was great. The room was smaller than expected, but was well equipped.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the bed was comfortable. The room was very loud. We were able to hear in the most precise detail what was going on in the room next to us (including our neighbor's conversations and television preferences). We ask to be moved, but the second room was equally as bad.
Excellent hotel that is well priced and located.
Amazing staff. Overall very nice hotel. Dust. This is the the only minus.
Nothing This is by far the worst hotel I've ever been in! The room, (505) was so small that I think they had to build the room around the bed. It was so small that the bathroom had to have a sliding door. I truly don't believe a normal door would be able to open / close. The air conditioning didn't work and the overall area seemed seedy. Numerous bailed bond companies with likely clients in the area. When I asked about the area the clerk advised, "Just stay on Broaday."
I was surprised to have to pay a mandatory fee for services that I did not use or want. I thought that was very unfair of the hotel.
The room was small, but comfortable. It had everything you could want, including a mini frig. The location was great. Within walking, or public transportation, to everything downtown San Diego has to offer. The valet parking was expensive.
It's location is perfect. Walking distance to pretty much everything you would want to do downtown; gaslamp, marina, horton plaza, etc. Room was perfect for me and my girlfriend. Staff was very accomodating. Parking.
I loved everything
Nice grounds, hotel staff very friendly. While on vacation being woken up at 4:00 am and 6:00 am every morning due to construction work being done on the expansion of the conference center was a bit maddening. I got the impression that they were behind schedule due to the 3:30 am dumpster clean out. The services at the one and only restaurant was very poor. Complete mayhem in the understanding of the services due to poor management, Often times we would have to go look for a server to get a drink at the lounge area.
Great gym; liked having Starbucks in hotel. Great location. Construction site. Hallways super narrow. Bathrooms small. Will be nice to see it in a year from now
Love the pool area, felt as if I where in an all-inclusive-resort. Like that the Boardwalk was just steps away. Would definitely recommend this hotel I stayed on the South Tower, did not like the construction noise and sight of construction
As a young couple, we have not stayed at many nice hotels. This was a very refreshing look into the "adult" world, and truly sets a precedent for what a well put together hotel looks like. No complaints whatsoever.
Option for self parking with option to come in and out. Great fitness area and pools. A little pricey. Internet charge.
Location Family friendly Great staff Would definitely stay there again! Self parking is horrible. Valet parking is $45 a night.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the service was good. The facility is very nice and the location is prime. Everything was overpriced. Valet was $47 a night ($35 for self parking), the hotel charged an extra $12 for Internet service, and the room service arrived in a paper bag and plastic cups (very disappointing).
Beds were comfortable. Concierges were all great -- friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Pool was lovely, view was lovely. Nice pre-set videos for fitness classes. I did the yoga. Balcony quite small. Restaurant nice for breakfast buffet but dinner wasn't very good.
Experience was great
Large clean room, good views, many on-site amenities shops and restaurants, great location, helpful efficient staff. Expensive rooms, extra charge for internet, no ventilation fan in the bathroom.
The location and the view of the room Subaverage room. The price of the room and the room itself does not match. Small beds, small bathroom, small sink area, not a luxury hotel, less than average room.
The location, staff, atmosphere spectacular customer service. The pool area was heavenly. I wasn't able to stay forever.
I was told there was Self-Park or Valet, upon arrival I was informed there is ONLY valet and it was $42.00.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and large. The hotel location was ideal due to its proximity to different eateries and shops. I wish I had the time to enjoy a run near the waterfront which looked lovely. It was a little pricey at over $300/night, but then again it was Memorial Day weekend.
Choices to be green. Close to the convention center. Hours for the recreation area were limited.
Location After realizing I left a jacket in the closet, I immediately contacted the hotel to retrieve it. Two messages were left on housekeeping voice mail. Twice I spoke to front desk and was prommised missed a call back which never came. No manager was available at any time. After a day and a half I recieved a message from housekeeping that they didn't find it. The outcome would have been different had the front desk or management given quality customer service. I am a Hilton Honors member and frequent guest.
almost everything worked out just fine for us.. long line for happy hour.
The staff is very friendly. The hotel is very clean. The free hot breakfast was good. The location is is great.
Nothing went right and it continued even after we left the hotel
Breakfast was good. Afternoon cocktails and snacks were a nice touch. Big, comfortable room. No drinking glasses in room. They charge for Wifi.
The breakfast. Didn't like the $40 night parking fee and I thought the customer service at the front desk was terrible.
Breakfast, as always, was good. We were not able to enjoy happy hour as we had another commitment. Location was great. $46/day for valet parking is ridiculous. Luckily we are Hilton Honors members, because $12.95/day for internet is also ridiculous. For the price of the hotel, internet should be included, and parking reasonable.
Location, room separate from living area a huge plus. I booked over the phone directly with the hotel, what I was quoted over the phone was $100 more than what was emailed to me in my confirmation. I had to cancel, and was transferred to 3 people before I was allowed to do so. I was told there was Self-Park or Valet, upon arrival I was informed there is ONLY valet and it was $42.00. I was not informed that the hotel was under major renovations when speaking to the hotel on the phone either. "heated pool" was barely warmed up, more cold than anything. The parking felt like the biggest disappointment, especially being lied to over the phone.
The rooms are big, and the hotel close to a beautiful beach. The is a nice center of restaurants near the hotel The Peking in the hotel too expensive
Location, right in the center of downtown La Jolla. Easy to walk around the shops and to the beach area. Parking is at a premium. Costs $18.00 per day for valet. Not a problem if one is staying a night or two, but a week might be a cost issue!
The breakfast was excellent! The room was very comfortable. Parking was very expensive at $18 a day.
Stayed here with my husband and two daughters, 7 and 9. We really didn't spend much time in the hotel, but it was clean and quiet. The location was nice for the coast, shopping and dining. The complimentary breakfast was a bonus.
The service was excellent, hotel employee at the front desk went above and beyond to help us!!

That it found a room for me after I arrived an learned that IT DID NOT HAVE MY RESERVATION! I brought a printout of the Priceline confirmation and got what the staff said was the only remaining room, the result of a recent cancellation. That the cleaning staff got my bed ready for the evening but failed to pick up wet towels I left on the floor after my shower at 5 pm (to prepare for a pre-wedding reception for out of town guests).
Very nice and close to downtown La Jolla. Nice bar and good night life The bar tender was sort of grumpy and not too friendly.
This is a nice quaint hotel in the heart of the town of La Jolla. They have a friendly capable staff
The Breakfast was nice. The room they served it in was to small for the amount of people.Great staff. Good location 2 blocks from the beach. The parking was $18 for valet. We parked a couple blocks away for free.
The beds were very comfortable, friendly staff, excellent coffee, cute shops in walking distance! The only bummer was the parking. You don't have to pay for the hotel valet (which I think was $18 a day), but you can only park your car on the street at certain times. We felt rushed to get ready in the morning so we wouldn't get a parking ticket.
The staff was amazing. Ben, at the front desk, was incredibly kind and helpful with excellent recommendations. Even the room service staff was superior! I liked everything.
The exhaust fan in the bathroom was so loud that it disturbed our sleep even with the door closed.
The bed was very comfortable and my view was amazing! One of my towels was dirty upon arrival.
Nice Location High price
Great location, great staff, clean, funky and fun. Rooms are small and water pressure sucks.
The Woodstock suite was awesome the room with balcony was great. The restaurant Mary Janes was very good and Robbie the concierge was very helpful. Fun place to be After checking in and not an early check in were were barged in by the cleaning staff. That could have been embarrassing, right! Then I get an email a day after checkout with a 93.00 minibar charge we took 2 waters and two beers, even at crazy assed minibar prices that doesn't add up to 93.00. It is disappointing because we really had a good time and I like the hotel and their staff, but I don't like being screwed!
Stop charging resort fees. Include microwave and minifridge in each room.
The room decor and layout was very modern and had a nice feel to it.The staff was very friendly and nothing but helpful when needed. Couldn't have asked for better service. The mattress was a bit too soft for my liking. Also the walk in shower looked great and the dual shower heads were nice but it caused large amounts of water to pool up where you're supposed to dry off
Location is excellent - in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter, actually right next to the Gaslamp sign. Pretty good view depending on where the room is located. Direct exits to 5th Ave, 6th Ave, and L St is a nice added convenience. Studio King room was great - clean, modern decor, comfortable bedding, great bathroom with rainfall and standard shower head, iPhone 5+ dock, good channel selection on TV. Lobby and surrounding have nice, clean, modern decor. After housekeeping, we found that the original iPhone dock we were provided was switched for a different model. The original one was better for us, as we could directly mount the phone for charging without a cable needed. The newer model required a cable, which we didn't have. Called the desk and they didn't know why it was switched, and said they'd follow up to resolve the issue... they never did. Overall, staff is not the most helpful.
Tech /music accesbility. Hospitality. Clubs, bars, and restaurant in the building Price for parking
Location was great. Right at the start of the Gaslamp District. Walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. Close to the baseball stadium. Staff was friendly and offered good suggestions for dinner. Gym was nice. Arrived on the day of a baseball game. Road closures made it difficult to get to the valet drop off point. Valet only. Cannot park your own car. Wish the hotel room was more clean. Lots of items in the room (i.e. Snacks and items for purchase) that hadn't been swapped out in a long time. For a 4 star hotel I expected a little more. Room needed a refresh - signs of wear and tear.
Fine hotel Was charged for a king suite and received a regular room. Haven't received the credit yet.
