Cleanliness, staff, getting car out of valet and they lost the ticket twice, long line for checkin, breakfast was less than continental, room had mold and rust everywhere, wallpaper peeling off walls, carpet had tons of stains, smelled like smoke in the non smoking room...etc...
Only the place of the hotel was amazing
The breakfast and service need more improvenent
The location is the only thing that can be rescued from this hotel. Crossing the street is the Pennsylvania station and there are several subway stations within a couple of blocks.
Cleaning. the carpet showed that it was several years old without being washed. In the shower, the bathroom tiles were dirty with mold, you could tell he had a long time without being thoroughly washed. On the false right, there was a hole covered with a rag or something that looked like a sock. The beds creaked a lot. I cannot understand a hotel with such demand has rooms that not a one-star hotel has.
You should take this hotel off of your site — it is a disgrace.
They did switch my room when the first was disgusting. The manager at the desk was very nice. Just pay the extra money and take a renovated room. The renovated room was a typical nyc hotel where I felt safe and comfortable.
I originally did not choose to stay in a renovated room, thinking that it was only for a night and I’d really only be sleeping in the room. But the “classic” room I was given was beyond disgusting and unsanitary- stained sheets, old carpet, the window was left open and held up by the drain stopper from the bathroom sink. There was no shower curtain and when I asked the attendant in the hall for one she handed it to me and had me put it up. Debris and mold could be seen in the a/c vent. There were unknown marks on the carpet. The valet insisted on a tip before taking my car. The bell captain was rude.
The hotel was very dated. Paint peeling off.
I got stuck in NY when my flight was cancelled, and Hotel Pennsylvania had a room. The location is excellent - right across from Penn Station, so it was easy to catch my train the next morning.
The entire hotel is quite dated, and there were very few amenities in the room (no hair dryer or robe, just shampoo and soap). Check-in took 45+ minutes even at 11 pm.
The fact that i brought medical grade cleaning products with me.
Less bed bugs would be nice, less flies flying around, maybe vacuum once in a while. The place smelled like a corpse died in there. Black mold in the showers, and hardly any AC. Called 3 times no one came to fix. I tried to get a refund from PRICELINE.com which is another horrible site, charged and 85 fee for a 65 dollar room, and gave no refund for the appalling conditions we had to stay in. I will never use priceline again
1. They charged us $68 in fees because we reserved through third party 2. Lamp was broken 3. Mold on curtains 4. Paint peeling off walls 5. Phone did not work 6. No towels 7. No pillow cases nor bed quilt/cover 8. Ceiling had paper stuck to it 9. Windows were filthy. I have pictures of each of theses. I have used kayak before and stayed at the Penn. I was greatly disappointed. Staff were non responsive, we finally got towels, pillow covers and a new lamp, after we got a supervisor involved.
Location and convenience excellent.
Rooms very average and generally inadequate space in them.
Very disapointined with facilities and value for money
Washer leaked. Never fixed, rubbish can was placed by hotel staff to collect water leak. A third world hospitality handling.
Nothing at all, I will never come back
Rooms smelling bad, unacceptable breakfast, big delay for check in,
Location was good, not a superior room. Hotel offered a 30% dicount we paid over $200 a night not happy about paying the higher price. Told that I could not get the discount as I had booked through Booking.com Do they have any superior rooms as booked?
Very poor quality of rooms offered. From some of the reviews I expected better.
how central it was
staff seemed to be giving out to people a lot on the day I was there. The staff were efficient but not the friendliest
internal decoration needs updating, rooms and corridors very b asic
The hotel is to big.
it is at the center of the city
the room quality
