all went clockwork - we aked to rent a car: it arrived i ntime at the right price etc . Great hotrel - great value for money !
Attention to details. Service. Aircon. Central location no need to use car as tram service first class also. Staff very helpfull and pleasent.Breakfast and dining very good. All in all an excellent stay! Lighting in room could be brighter bedside reading lights could be a lot more effective if the flexi arm was longer ! Bathroom hot water did not appear to be thermostatically controlled !
The service is excellent there - they make you feel very welcoming - effortless and unassuming. Nothing
we were able to procure a bright room on the square, beautifully decorated with toile fabric. excellent bathrooms with wood and marble/granite. our initial room was very dark and overly done in dark faux-curtain wallpaper. but a good sized room!
Excellent restaurants and cafes abd breakfast.
The location is ideal and the staff were very friendly
The hotel is right in the city centre, very close to shopping area. The staff is very helpful in all our questions. The room is not too big so preferably a medium size luggage suits better. The traffic is very heavy, it took more than 1 hour to reach the hotel from the city outskirt!
Delightfull hotel with very nice rooms
Location Deluxe room: Small & outdated Wall view Breakfast
The staff, especially the concierge managers, were helpful, pleasant, and went out of their way to assist, without asking. Very well trained and gracious. We enjoyed being on the main Place of the Grand Theatre; sitting outside on the terrace was delightful. Comp. bottles of gazeuse and plat water each day in the room was a nice touch. We were on the top floor, converted from attic rooms, so the ceiling was low and the windows were much smaller than those of the floors underneath. The lighting in the room did not compensate for this and it was impossible to read either a book or a newspaper. The drapes were luscious, but covered the small windows. Would have liked a coffee/tea tray in the room.
Stayed at the hotel for three nights. The restaurant was superb, other than having a table full of Chinese next to us who had two interpreters running around the table explaining/translating. Still an enjoyable meal non-the-less, and chef Pascal Nibaudeau came and spoke with us which was nice - although only because he had to come and 'shmooze' the Chinese clients who I assume were carrying big bank books! Location is great, right next to the shopping area, opposite the opera house and two mins from the tourist centre and tour buses. Reception and concierge were very helpful. The room was well finished and luxurious, however it consisted of a very narrow hallway with the mini-bar, safe etc being right at the entry, and the bedroom at the other end - the oddest shaped hotel room I've stayed in. Virtually no room to place an open suitcase let alone two, which for the price we payed was not good enough. Unfortunately the hotel's gym and spa were still being constructed, which we were not advised when booking. The staff at the bar were not attentive at all, and on two occassions I had to get up and order drinks - not great when they are standing around chatting instead of servicing the customer. The couple beside us didn't hold back on their criticism! Not good enough for a 5 star hotel.
The location was excellent. Elevators were very very slow. Lighting in the halls was bad.
Very clean, modern and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location. No tea or coffee making facilities!
Big, comfortable double bed and spacious bathroom. Hotel in ideal position from which to explore Bordeaux. Staff efficient and friendly. Would be sensible to include kettle and tea/coffee in room as matter of course rather than by request.
The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was somewhat expensive.
The hotel is centrally based for shops and good restaurants. In a lovely square with a bar just next door where you can sit outside and watch the world go by! The room was very small with a noisy air conditioning unit outside our window.
The position of this hotel is excellent. It is adjacent to the Tourist Office, within walking distance of shops and restaurants and trams also.
Fantastic location - right in the heart of the city and very close to restaurants, shops, theatre.
Location is fantastic... very small room and poor furniture (open and small closet)
I liked that our room had a balcony. We arrived at 11.30am and as our room was not ready was asked to come back at 1.00pm...when we arrived back it was still not ready which was a tiny bit annoying, however they still let us place our luggage in the room which was all we needed as we were going out.
Location and cost Not a 3 star hotel; kind of shabby
Location A disco started next door at midnight continuing until until about five in the morning. It was impossible to sleep the staff were useless saying that they have had this problem before and have had to call the police.Never again would we stay here.I Am surprised that no other guests have said this before.
spacious room with balcony & lovely view. Air conditioning facilities were not great.
excellent location, very helpful staff. Room was excellent
The location is incredible--the view from my window was the side of the opera house. It is in the centre of town and right around the corner from the tram station. It was comfortable and clean, and a good value. And there was a modern lift.
It gave easy access to the city centre It is advertised as a hotel but is in reality a number of rooms in a block of flats.
Nice and clean, friendly staff, budget, in center of Bordeaux. Shower was very small and shower curtain kept sticking to body while showering.
Great location small rooms
The location No aircondition, window facing a shaft, room so small that we could hardly get our luggage in.
Central locations, cleanliness of room, big and comfort beds. All are very good!
The air con unit was very handy as room very hot. Excellent position for all the sights, shops and restuarants.
In the middle of the centre, next to tramstation no aircondition, but it was not warm when I was in Bordeau
location near car parking no wifi access
Its proximity to the centre I was not happy when I went a few minutes before end of breakfast time and was not let into the dining area.
Convenient location, recently remodeled decor, hallway/stairway under renovation (a work in progress) no work was done during our stay, so noise was not an issue. Beds could be larger, and higher quality, but for the money it was fair.
friendliness of staff, decoration of the rooms, cleanliness, excellent location in center of town, pedestrian street, nice breakfast....everything was perfect!!
Friendly staff in this small hotel. Very close to the main shopping strip, restaurants and tourist places. You can take the tram to and from the station with only a few minutes' walk. My room was smallish, but good. The hotel is an old building so rooms are not large. Good value. Breakfast is a croissant and a half baguette with various jams and good coffee - whether it is good value is debatable, but it is probably par for the course. Not much really, but there is no lift (elevator). Help was offered to me to carry my luggage upstairs but I didn't need it. .
The way the room was decorated was very pretty and fun. It was clean and well-presented. A comfortable and economic use of the space. They didn't have information on where to catch the express airport bus when I asked. It didn't seem like it should be an unusual question. Also there was no summary information in the room itself outlining breakfast time, check out time, access to internet, key phone numbers... There was something on the back of the door but only breakfast times I think.
